Business Diagramming Tool for Windows ConceptDraw PRO can be used for drawing nearly all kinds of business diagrams. Learn how ConceptDraw PRO can be helpful for creating most routine of them such as Organizational Chart or Flow Chart. Lesson 1: Creating Simple Organization Chart with ConceptDraw PRO. 1. Choose Organization Chart simple template from Template Gallery. Open it from File>Template Gallery>Business Diagrams. The template consists of a blank document, workspace and a set of libraries that contain component objects of organization chart.

2. Organization chart usually contains geometric shapes to represent a persons, positions, or departments of organization. The lines that connect the shapes indicate relationships between the positions. Use the shapes from Organization Chart or Stylish Chart library. Use mouse double-click or Drag &Drop it to insert object into the document. The rectangle is the most common shape used to represent person or department. A dashed outline indicates an open position. Use floating dialogs (menu View) or context menu to make dashed line or change color of the shape 3. To edit text of objects click on the needed part of the object.

4. Arrange your organization chart objects. Below you can see the most commonly used alignment of organizational charts. Most organizational charts are based on a horizontal tree structure like this one. The columnar stack creates a more compact tree structure. The staggered tree is also used to save space. A horizontal attachment outside of the vertical hierarchy indicates a staff or assistant position.

5. Connect shapes with lines according to roles and positions. Use Connector. Pick a connector by the needed end and, pressing left mouse button direct them to the object to be connected.. Doubly-linked boxes denote co-supervisors. A solid line shows a formal and direct relationship. A dashed line shows an indirect or advisory relationship. Arrows indicate the direction of communication. 6. Complete the issue with appropriate Title and page background. Choose the responsible objects from Backgrounds and Title Blocks libraries.

7. You can print your organization chart or export to HTML, or PDF, or MS PowerPoint, to present and share it with others.

Lesson 2: Creating Basic Flow Chart with ConceptDraw PRO. 1. Choose Basic Flowchart template from Template Gallery. Open it from File>Template Gallery> Basic Flowchart. The template consists of a blank document, workspace and a set of libraries that contain component objects of flowchart.

2. A flowchart consists of symbols representing various states of the process. Use the shapes from Basic flowchart or Stylish flowchart library. Use mouse doubleclick or Drag &Drop it to insert object into the document. The Process Symbol represents any process, function, or action and is the most frequently used symbol in flowcharting. The Input/Output Symbol represents data that is available for input or resulting from processing The Decision Symbol is a junction where a decision must be made. A single entry may have any number of alternative solutions, but only one can be chosen. The Document Symbol is used to represent any type of hard copy input or output (i.e. reports). The Terminator Symbols show the start and stop points in a process.

3. To edit text of Symbols click on the object or press F2. 4. Blocks should be arranged according to the flow of the process from one block to another. One block can be connected to a number of others, and the connections may be both incoming and outgoing.

5. Connect Blocks with arrows, using Connectors. Pick a connector by the needed end and, pressing left mouse button direct them to the object to be connected. Certain processes include operations that run in a cycle. Use the arrows to show the direction of process flow. 6. Complete the issue with appropriate Title and page Background. Choose the responsible objects from :Backgrounds and Title Blocks libraries

7. You can print your Flowchart or export to HTML, or PDF, or MS PowerPoint, to present and share it with others.

Technical Drawing Tool for Windows ConceptDraw can be successfully applied for creating all kinds of standardized technical drawings such as schemes, plans, diagrams and layouts by architects, engineers designers, and related professionals. Learn how to use layers while creating complex technical drawing. Lesson 3: Working on Complex Drawing. Imagine that you need to draw floor plan that includes different sorts of communications such as electricity, airing, water supply and so on. Layers allow you to work on separate images in order to modify the part of drawing without changing the entire image. So we can draw each communication type on a separate layer. 1. Set layer s properties, using Layers Floating Dialog You can rename a layer. Just select a layer name and press F2, then set the required name. To define a layer for work you need to mark it with the blue sphere. To make a layer invisible click on "eye" icon in the layer properties line. To lock a layer click on "lock" icon in the layer properties line. You can define the layers you need to print. To define non-printable layers just click on "printer" icon in the layer properties line. In Color section of the layer properties line you can set a default color for all lines in this layer. To select a color just click on the grey box icon in the layer properties line. Color Floating Dialog will open and will enable you to choose a color. If you need to apply Color settings to the lines in the selected layer just click on the empty space near the color box icon.

2. Draw layer for the floor plan and separate layers for electric system, water pipes and sewing system. You can use different colors for each communication type. Electric system: Water pipes layer: 3. if you find a plan with all communications at once difficult to understand you can disable the layers with unnecessary communications.

Business Collaboration Tool for Macintosh and Windows The sharing of business information and among partners, suppliers and customers takes an important place in business process. Learn how ConceptDraw PRO compatibility with MS Visio allows to exchange documents with users of different operational systems and software. Lesson 4: Working with Microsoft Visio Files in ConceptDraw PRO. Using ConceptDraw you can work with Microsoft Visio documents both on Macintosh and Windows platforms. The native file format for Microsoft Visio files is *.vsd. However, you can set it to save all files with a *.vdx extension, which can be opened by ConceptDraw. 1. For example you have a simple flow chart created in MS Visio. Use menu File>Save as and choose XML Drawing to save it in *.vdx format. * if you do not have Visio available, you can use free file conversion service that is accessible from ConceptDraw web site or via email, where you can upload or attach.vsdfile(s) for conversion. The automated service will convert the file to.vdx and send it back to you. Upload Files: http://www.conceptdraw.com/en/visio/ Email Attached Files:visiocnvrtr@csodessa.com

2. To open your *. vdx file with ConceptDraw PRO. Use menu >File>Import, choose XML for Visio. *When opening a Visio generated.vdx extension file with ConceptDraw there you may notice some differences when viewing the file in Visio and ConceptDraw. ConceptDraw does not support footers and headers. Any footer and header information that was in the Visio file will not be displayed in ConceptDraw. The header and footer information is not lost; they are just not viewable or modifiable within ConceptDraw. Some Visio fonts are not supported by ConceptDraw. If this is the case, then you may select from a list of available fonts supported by ConceptDraw when prompted.

3. You can edit your document with ConceptDraw PRO tools and features. Save it using menu File>Export, XML for Visio. 4. The document can be opened and edited with MS Visio as ordinary MS Visio document.
