ImageNow Readme for Release 6.7 This Readme file provides important information about the 6.7.x release for ImageNow Server, ImageNow Client, WebNow, and all agents and extensions in this release. Read this file before you begin your installation. This file explains where to locate the installation and update information, lists enhancements and bug fixes, and provides specific information that might apply to your setup. Links to additional resources are also included in this file. To access the ImageNow websites referenced in this file, you must connect to the Internet. System requirements For product technical specifications and system requirements, refer to the Technical Specifications for your product version. This document is available on the Product Documentation tab of the Customer Portal on www.perceptivesoftware.com. Before proceeding, confirm that you downloaded the correct installer for your environment. Then verify that your environment meets or exceeds the minimum requirements specified in the Technical Specifications for ImageNow 6.7.x. Make sure you run the same version for all ImageNow products. For example, ImageNow Client 6.7 is compatible only with ImageNow Server 6.7. Perceptive Software does not support the use of earlier versions of the ImageNow Client with ImageNow Server 6.7. Generate a system fingerprint using the following substeps. 1. Click Start > All Programs > ImageNow 6 > ImageNow Management Console. 2. In the Login page, click License Manager. 3. In the License Management dialog box, select Save system fingerprint and click OK. 4. In the Save As dialog box, enter a name for the file, navigate to the location where you want to save the report, and then click Save. 2. Contact your Perceptive Software representative for instructions on where to send the system fingerprint file to obtain your license. The system fingerprint file has a SYSFP extension. 3. When you receive the license files, store the license files in a temporary directory on the ImageNow Server computer. ImageNow 6.7.x Readme Page 7 of 10

Install ImageNow product licenses Before you enter your licenses, you must install the ImageNow Server and at least one ImageNow Client. You must have Service Administrator privileges to install ImageNow licenses. The ImageNow Client must be available on a Windows machine to install the ImageNow product licenses. 1. When you receive the license files from your Perceptive Software representative, copy them to a temporary folder where you can access them with an ImageNow Client. 2. Upload licenses, as explained in the following substeps. 1. Click Start > All Programs > ImageNow 6. 2. In the login page, click License Manager. 3. In the License Management dialog box, select Upload Licenses and click OK. 4. Navigate to the folder where you stored the ImageNow license files, select the LIC files to upload, and click Open. 5. Enter the User Name, Password, and Server Location and click OK. 6. Optional. The License Upload dialog box lets you view the type name, actual license code, and current status of each license upload. To display detailed information for a specific license, select the appropriate row. 3. Click OK. Contacting Perceptive Software Product Support Before you contact Product Support, visit the Customer Portal at www.perceptivesoftware.com to search for an answer to your question. This website includes the most recent updates of ImageNow Help files. You must be a registered user to access the Customer Portal. Product Support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your call is routed to the appropriate Product Support resource based on the nature of a request or severity of an issue. When you contact Product Support to report a new issue, have the following information available: Your version of ImageNow. Your operating system and its version. Other software you use with ImageNow (for example: scanner drivers or host application). A complete description of the issue, including steps to reproduce it. Exact wording of any error messages that you encountered. The environment affected (for example: Production, Test, or Failover). The type of database you are running and its version (for example: Oracle or Microsoft SQL). Database support. ImageNow Server does not currently support SQL Server 2012 due to ODBC driver issues. We are working with the 3 rd party that supplies the driver to resolve this. We anticipate that support for SQL Server 2012 will be available in a subsequent 6.7 patch in the near future. 2. Content Server. At this time, the Content Server does not support Office 2007 (or higher) files. 3. Google Chrome. Product Help for ImageNow does not display correctly in some releases of Google Chrome. To work around this issue, complete the following steps. 1. Create a copy of Chrome on your desktop. You can create the shortcut by navigating to [drive]:\users\[user name]\appdata\local\google\chrome\application, holding down ALT while clicking chrome.exe, and dragging it to your desktop. 2. Rename the shortcut Perceptive Help. 3. Right-click the Perceptive Help Chrome shortcut and select Properties. 4. In the Target field, add quotation marks around the path and type --allow-file-access-fromfiles at the end of the path outside the close quotation mark. Make sure you leave a space between the original string and the tag you are adding to the end of it. Note The string should look similar to this example: "[drive]:\users\[user name]\appdata\local\google\chrome\application" --allow-file-access-from-files 5. 6. To open a local copy of Perceptive Software WebHelp, complete the following substeps: 1. Open the new Chrome shortcut. 2. Navigate to the inserver6\help directory. 3. Open the WebHelp you want to view. ImageNow 6.7.x Readme Page 10 of 10
