Introduction Event Notification Module installation is one step in the commissioning of a system. The current install allows for a great deal of flexibility including both local and remote database instances. To facilitate remote installation the setup allows the user to choose from three install paths. Complete Installation The Event Notification Module and the SQL database will reside on the same server host and the user is required to choose an SQL instance on the local machine for the install to configure the database server. Database Server Installs the database components on the target database server for Event Notification Module. Application Server The user must select the target database server, but only the application components will be installed. The user must install the database server first. For reference the following have been provided in this guide: Requirements Hardware and Software requirements that must be met in order to install ENM. Upgrades Upgrade cases which have been detailed for previous users. 2014 Schneider Electric. All Rights Reserved. 3
Requirements Please note the following system requirements when installing or using Event Management solutions. NOTE For server systems where SQL Server will also be installed, please refer to the SQL requirements to ensure the system is up to hosting both SQL and ENM. Hardware Component Processor Memory Hard Drive Network Minimum Required Quad Core 4 GB 150 GB Software Component Required Operating System Windows 7 Windows Server 2008 SP 2 Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows Server 2012 Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows 8 Windows 8.1 SQL Server MS SQL Server 2008 R2 MS SQL Server 2012 MS SQL Server Express 2012 Language English Other Internet Information Services Version 7.0 or later.net Version 4.5.1 Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11 (Non Compatibility Mode) Chrome 20+ Firefox 14+ 2014 Schneider Electric. Upgrades Note: To upgrade a system that has an ENM 7.1 configuration to ENM 8.2, please see the steps that follow. Upgrading from ENM 7.1 to ENM 8.2 - Uninstall ENM 7.1 through Control Panel -> Programs and Features. - Install ENM 8.2 by running the install Note that during the Configuration step of the Upgrade three Tasks will occur: - Backing Up Previous Historical Data o Backs up the PLES_AEHistory Database to the Database Location selected in the installer. - Trimming Previous Historical Data o Trims the PLES_AEHistory Database to 2,000,000 records. - Migrating Previous Historical Data o Converts the data into the new ENM 8.2 Schema. 2014 Schneider Electric. This process will upgrade the database to a new Database Schema followed in ENM 8.2, automatically preserving the ENM 7.1 Database. This is an irreversible change. To use the ENM 7.1 database backup, it must be restored to another ENM 7.1 system. 2014 Schneider Electric. All Rights Reserved. 6
