1 Overview The Distance Support (DS) Vectory Management Console allows users to research commodity Sources of Support (SoS) and to submit SoS provider information change recommendations. The SoS Vectory links equipment, application support, and various subject areas to the authoritative SoS or Subject Matter Expert (SME). Every DS support request results in affirmation of a program record in the SoS Vectory or it results in the creation of an entirely new program record inside the Matrix. The Vectory provides a cross reference of authoritative points of contact. This tool allows maintenance of the Vectory by the support community. The Vectory Management Console User Manual has three sections describing usage of the tool. Section 2 contains basic functions available to all users. Section 3 is functions available to maintainers of the Source of Support Vectory. Section 4 describes the steps involved to execute a specific scenario in maintain of the Vectory. 1.1 Accessing the Vectory Management Console The Vectory Management Console is hosted by the Distance Support program in Navy Data Center, San Diego. A DoD PKI certificate is required to access the tool. 7/19/12 Unclassified 4

2.1.1 Search Input Figure 2-2 - Search Criteria Enter criteria into the text box and click Search (next to the magnifying glass) to execute a search. Select a search Category to indicate the type of search value. 2.1.2 Search Categories Provider Name - First and/or last name of the SoS provider. For example Jim Smith. Commodity/Alias This is the primary search selection. It searches both the Commodity name and the Alias for the entered value. An example of a search on this field would be Pump. Provider Activity Activity name of the SoS provider. An example would be Surface Warfare Center Carderock. Program name and Unique ID are not populated at present but are planned searches for the future. 7/19/12 Unclassified 6
2.1.3 Search Results Figure 2-3 - Search Results Records meeting the search criteria are displayed in the main body of the Vectory Management Console. The display can be resorted by clicking the column heading. Changes can be made to any row in the search results and are not dependent on the type of search performed, see section 3.6. 2.1.4 Commodity Information Figure 2-4 - Commodity Information Click on any row in the search results to display details about the commodity in the lower left hand side of the screen. 7/19/12 Unclassified 7

2.1.7.1 Change Description Figure 2-8 - Change Description and Save Enter information describing why the change is necessary and if possible the correct value. Click Save to submit the change to the SoS Vectory Record Manager and System Manager. Entering the correct value will reduce the time to research the change and make SoS Provider corrections. All users will be informed of the disposition of their change request through an email reply. There are two types of system replies: Change Rejection Notification - Includes at a minimum: change request ID, rationale and notification that the change request is closed. Tell the recipient that if they disagree with the rationale, a new change request must be submitted. Change Approval and Update Notification 7/19/12 Unclassified 11
