Show/Hide Items in a Visualization With TIBCO Spotfire 5.5 it is now possible to define a set of filtering rules, such as top five or bottom five performers, to show or hide certain parts of an individ ual visualization. Calculations on Aggregated Data With TIBCO Spotfire 5.5 it is now possible to use custom expressions on aggregated data from any data source, including both in-memory and in-db data sources. Some common calculations, like year over year, moving average or cumulative sum, are accessible directly from the column selector, which also includes an in-line custom expression editor. Syntax Highlighting in Expressions and Scripts The built-in editor for custom expressions and scripts is in TIBCO Spotfire 5.5 enhanced with syntax highlighting that makes it easier to create and maintain expressions and scripts. The expression editor supports context sensitive auto complete functionality. Release Notes 6 Migration and Compatibility This section explains how to migrate from a previous release to this release. Release 5.5 Installation Follow the instructions in the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 5.5 Installation Manual to install TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 5.5. Installation Notes Installing the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player from a network drive is not possible; the installer must be run locally. While technically possible, it is n ot recommended to install TIBCO Spotfire Web Player on the same machine as the TIBCO Spotfire Server. Performance for both prod ucts will be affected negatively, and there are complications concerning port numbers. The installation program creates a virtual directory called SpotfireWeb under the Default Web Site in IIS. If there is more than one web site on the server, it is important to select the port for the correct web site during installation, as described in the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player Installation Manual. It is particularly important to install TIBCO Spotfire Web Player and TIBCO Spotfire Server on separate machines when using Kerber os authentication. Additional information and advice on troubleshooting are available in the installation manual.
