Getting Started To get started, visit www.propelgps.net with an internet browser. You will be prompted for your username and password. Your username is likely your email address. If you are new to Propel PRO, your manager will need to create an account for you. Access Level Definitions Propel PRO has multiple security levels and depending on your level you will only have certain functions available to you. Propel PRO offers 3 access and visibility levels: Owner, Manager and User. This user guide will show you how to perform common functions for each level below. User - Can view vehicle GPS tracking, status (moving, idle, etc.), and reports (speed, trip, etc.). Manager - Can perform all User level functions plus create and modify alerts, modify vehicles, modify cost centers, and modify users. Owner - Can perform all Manager functions plus modify Managers, modify site features, and modify Customers. Please note: Your Propel GPS account manager will create the Owner level login and set the initial site features available to your company. Some features in this documentation may not be available on your account. Please contact your Propel GPS account manager for more information if you would like to add features. Dashboard Dashboard Log In When you first log on as a User or Manager, you will be shown your default Dashboard. Dashboards are a quick overview of different statistics related to your account. For example, how many vehicles were speeding over the last 7 days, how many vehicles were not used, or how many miles were driven? Viewing the Dashboards Once you are logged in and see your default dashboard, you may also view other dashboards available to your account. On the main menu, click Dashboard. Click on the name of the dashboard you want to view and the new dashboard will appear. If you have multiple dashboards, you can set one as your default dashboard by viewing the dashboard, then clicking Make this your default dashboard. Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 7

Dashboard Widgets Total Idle Fuel Cost by Month We calculate this value assuming an average of ½ gallon of fuel is burned per hour and a cost of $2.00 per gallon. Map a Vehicle Current vehicle movement status 1. On the main menu, click Map. 2. Hover over a vehicle icon to see more information including vehicle name, date and time of last update, location address if one is available, how long it has been in its current status, VIN, calculated odometer reading, speed, and temperature (depending on features of your account). 3. Optional You can turn on all hover vehicle info boxes by clicking the Keep Popups Open in the menu. The info boxes will stay open, to turn them off simply uncheck the option. 4. Click on Vehicle List arrow enabling the dropdown menu to list all vehicles. Within this menu, - Click on a vehicle icon to open a separate Details page to display specific vehicle details - Click on the icon to add or remove individual vehicles from the map view - Click on the vehicle name to center and zoom the map to that vehicle 5. Click on the Vehicles button to toggle between vehicle icon and vehicle status map view. Vehicle status icons shown on the map indicate if that vehicle is Moving, Idle, or Stopped 6. Add or remove all vehicles from the map view by clicking the two icons next to Vehicles 7. Click Satellite or Street to toggle between each map view Historical vehicle movement data from Map 1. Hover the mouse over a vehicle icon and click on View Tracking Details at the bottom of the popup window to open a Tracking Details Report page 2. Geofences Add a Geofence 1. On the main menu, click Map 2. Click the + on the Geofence tool to Add New Geofence 3. The Geofence Create Tool appears at the bottom of the map 4. Enter the name of the new Geofence 5. Optional Address Lookup allows users to quickly zoom the map to a location by typing a specific address, city, state, zip code, or location information 6. Click the Geofence button 7. Click to choose the type of Geofence: Circle or Polygon - Circle i. Enter the Circle Radius in miles ii. Click the Circle icon when ready to set the Geofence on the map iii. Click on the map to set the circle Geofence location. Where you click on the map will be the center of the circle Geofence. iv. Choose a color and click the Next Step button v. Click Save then click the Next Step button vi. Optional To attach the route click on the buttons for Attach Vehicle, Attach Asset, or Attach Cost Center (Abbreviated by Attach V., Attach A, and Attach CC). Scroll in the listing and click to select an item from the list. You may select multiple items by holding CTRL and clicking, but only from one category vii. Click Save, then Finish It - Polygon i. Click on the Polygon icon to begin drawing your custom Geofence shape on the map ii. Click on the map to create your starting point, then continue clicking again to set the next point of your polygon shape. iii. Click again on the first or last point of your polygon to close the shape and exit drawing mode iv. Choose a color and click the Next Step button v. Click Save then click the Next Step button vi. Optional To attach the route click on the buttons for Attach Vehicle, Attach Asset, or Attach Cost Center (Abbreviated by Attach V., Attach A, and Attach CC). Scroll in the listing and click to select an item from the list. You may select multiple items by holding CTRL and clicking, but only from one category vii. Click Save, then Finish It - Cancel Geofence i. At any time, click the Cancel button to exit Edit a Geofence 1. On the main menu, click Map 2. 3. Choose Geofences to view the list of Geofences previously created 4. Find the Geofence you wish to edit and click on the Pencil icon to change preferences by going through the same steps as adding a new geofence Delete a Geofence 1. On the main menu, click Map 2. Click on the Geofences & Routes menu at the top left of the map 3. Choose either Geofences or Routes to select the list of Geofences created 4. Find the Geofence you wish to delete and click on the delete icon to delete the Geofence Routes Add a Route 1. On the main menu, click Map 2. Click the + on the Geofence & Route tool to Add New Route 3. The Geofence & Route Create Tool appears at the bottom of the map 4. Enter the name of the new Route 5. Optional Address Lookup allows users to quickly zoom the map to a location by typing a specific address, city, state, zip code, or location information 6. 7. Click Custom for custom drawn lines or Snap to Road for lines adjusted to fit existing roads on the map - Custom Route i. Click on the Road symbol, then click on the map to select the starting point ii. Click on the map at the next location for the route, notice a red dotted line connecting the two points in a straight line indicating your route iii. Continue clicking on the map to expand your route iv. When you are finished drawing the new route, click again on the last point placed on the map to exit drawing mode v. Choose a color and click the Next Step button vi. Click Save to save your route vii. Click Next Step button viii. Optional To attach the route click on the buttons for Attach Vehicle, Attach Asset, or Attach Cost Center (Abbreviated by Attach V., Attach A, and Attach CC). Scroll in the listing and click to select an item from the list. You may select multiple items by holding CTRL and clicking, but only from one category ix. Click Save, then Finish It - Snap to Road Route i. Click on the Start Route button then click on the map to select the starting point ii. Click on the map at the next location for the route, notice a line connecting the two points following the roads on the map indicating your route iii. Continue clicking on the map to expand your route iv. When you are finished drawing the new route, click Finish Route button to exit drawing mode v. Choose a color and click the Next Step button vi. Click Save to save your route vii. Click Next Step button viii. Optional To attach the route click on the buttons for Attach Vehicle, Attach Asset, or Attach Cost Center (Abbreviated by Attach V., Attach A, and Attach CC). Scroll in the listing and click to select an item from the list. You may select multiple items by holding CTRL and clicking, but only from one category ix. 2. Click on the Geofences & Routes menu at the top left of the map 3. Choose Routes to view the list of Routes previously created 4. Find the Route you wish to edit and click on the Pencil icon to change preferences by going through the same steps as adding a new route Delete a Route 1. On the main menu, click Map 2. Click on the Geofences & Routes menu at the top left of the map 3. Choose Routes to select the list of Routes created 4. Find the Route you wish to delete and click on the delete icon to delete the Route Landmarks Landmarks allow you to place a point on the map for familiar locations. You can define a custom name and choose from a variety of icons to visualize your Landmarks on our maps. You could use Landmarks to note the location of your offices, warehouses, or places you frequently visit. Viewing Landmarks Landmarks can be found on the following pages 1. Add a Landmark 1. Log in as a customer and go to Map on the main menu. 2. Next to the Landmarks section above the map, click the + symbol to add a new landmark. 3. Optional in Address Lookup you may enter an address to zoom the map to that location 4. Click anywhere on the map to place your Landmark marker. 5. You may click on the marker and move your pointer to modify the location of the marker, click again to drop the marker at the new location. 6. Click the drop down next to Landmark Icons to choose from one of many available icons. 7. In Landmark Name, enter a custom name you would like this Landmark to represent 8. Click Save Edit a Landmark 1. Log in as a customer and go to the Map on the main menu 2. Click the drop down arrow beside Landmarks 3. See listing of landmarks. Click the Pencil icon next to the landmark name you wish to edit. 4. The map will zoom into your landmark. Click on the landmark icon on the map. 5. Click on the new location on the map for the landmark to place the icon. 6. You may also edit the name of the landmark in the top toolbar. 7. Click Save in the top toolbar to save your changes. Delete a Landmark 1. Log in as a customer and go to the Map on the main menu 2. Click the drop down arrow beside Landmarks 3. See listing of landmarks. Click the trash can icon next to the landmark name you wish to delete. 4. Click on the confirmation message to confirm the deletion. Map Layout The Map Layout feature allows you to view up to 4 individual maps on a single page for a quick view of your vehicles and assets in frequently targeted areas. The Map Layout page consists of up to 4 widgets. Each widget can contain 1 map view. A map view is a map location chosen by you of where to center the map and its zoom level. You create map views, then show those views on the map layout page. You can save the map layout configuration so it displays the next time you visit the map layout page. Viewing Map Views 1. On the main menu, click on Map Layout. 2. On the map layout menu, click on Edit Map Views. 3. Click the drop down for Map View List, click on the name of an existing map view to load it. 4. The map will pan and zoom into the location of the map view. Creating Map Views 1. On the main menu, click on Map Layout. 2. On the map layout menu, click on Edit Map Views. 3. Pan and zoom the map to the location you wish to save as a map view. 4. Click New Map View, enter a name for this map view and click Save. Editing Map Views 1. On the main menu, click on Map Layout. 2. On the map layout menu, click on Edit Map Views. 3. Click the drop down for Map View List, find the name of an existing map view and click the edit icon beside it. 4. Pan and zoom the map to the new location, you may also edit the name for this map view. 5. Click Save to save these changes. Deleting Map Views 1. On the main menu, click on Map Layout. 2. On the map layout menu, click on Edit Map Views. Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 14

3. Click the drop down for Map View List, find the name of an existing map view and click the delete icon beside it. Viewing Map Layout 1. On the main menu, click Map Layout 2. You may choose the number of maps shown on the screen at once by changing the number of widgets. Choose 1, 2, 3, or 4 widgets. 3. In the title bar of each widget you may choose from your previously saved map views. 4. If you wish to save this configuration for future use, click Save Layout. Only 1 map layout can be saved per customer. Reporting Changing Search Criteria for Reports All reports support the same feature set for changing the search criteria by applying specified filters and adjusting the format for exporting data. Most reports default to showing data for all vehicles for the current day. You may customize the report by selecting filters for vehicles, assets, or date ranges. 1. Filter by vehicle allows users to choose all vehicles or a specific vehicle to see data for. Select the drop down menu arrow to adjust the search criteria. 2. Change the date range by clicking on the Select Date Range section, select a custom date and time range, then click Apply 3. Quick Picks allows users to choose a predetermined data range; Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 days, Last Month, This Month, then click Apply 4. You can export the data to a file or print by clicking the buttons CSV, Print, or PDF. 5. The data is displayed on pages. Click on First to see the first page, the back arrow to see previous pages, enter a page number to immediately see that page, click the forward arrow to see next pages, or Last to see the last page of data. 6. You can sort the table data of each report in ascending or descending order by clicking on a column header 7. Filter the report further by entering a Search value to only show rows that contain your search term 8. You may change the amount of data shown on one page by adjusting the Rows to Show value Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 15

Bus Activity History 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Bus Activity History. 2. A data table will show you detail when a sensor on the bus has been changed to a new state. For instance, when the Amber Light is turned on or off, Stop Sign is in or out, or the Emergency Door is open or closed. Comment Changes 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Comment Changes 2. A data table will show you detail when a comment change was made for a vehicle on the Vehicle Status screen. It will list the name of the vehicle, the VIN, the new comment, and the date and time the change was made. The VIN listed was the VIN at the time of the comment change. You can sort the table by the clicking on a column header. Device Removed Events 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Device Removed Events. 2. A data table will show you detail when a device sensor was removed or inserted from a vehicle. It will show the Vehicle Name, the Address (if available) where the device was removed or inserted, the date and time it occurred, the odometer reading according to our calculations, the then Vehicle comments value at the time of the incident, and whether the device was removed or inserted. Geofence 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Geofence. 2. View the history of sent Geofence Alerts. This table shows the Open and Close date and time for when a vehicle opened and closed a Geofence alert. Idle Report 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Idle. 2. This report provides a history of each vehicle name, the idle time duration, the idle start and end time, and the address in which the idle occurred. Mileage 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Mileage. 2. This report shows the total vehicle mileage for a given date range. Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 17

Odometer Changes 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Odometer Changes. 2. A data table will show you detail when an odometer change was made for a vehicle on the Vehicle Status screen. It will list the name of the vehicle, the location of the vehicle when the change was made, the odometer value that was entered, and the date and time the change was made. Note - The Odometer History report only shows when the odometer reading was manually changed by a user in the Vehicles menu. The application then uses that new value for future calculations. Some tracking devices does not report the vehicle odometer reading, only the amount of miles since the last report. Posted Speed Limit 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Posted Speed Limit. 2. A table shows each time a vehicle has triggered a Posted Speed Alert for a given date range. Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 18

Speed Summary 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Speed Summary. 2. A report is generated to show the top speed for each vehicle for a given date range. State to State 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then State to State. 2. This report displays how many miles a vehicle has driven and how much time a vehicle spent in a given state during a specified period of time, for all vehicles or a specific vehicle, using the data display filter. Temperature 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Temperature. 2. Start by choosing to display the temperature data by either Vehicles or Assets Tracking Details 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Tracking Details. 2. This report can be very large so it does not show data until you select a vehicle or asset. 3. Select Vehicle or Asset, then click Next 4. Click the drop down to show a listing of available vehicles or assets, click Add to add it to the report. You may add one item, or multiple items, then click Next 5. Select a Date and Time Range for the data to view Display Report 6. If you selected multiple vehicles or assets, you are limited to track up to 24 hours at a time Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 20

7. *Tip* You may run reports for multiple vehicles or assets for longer date and time ranges via the Report Delivery feature 8. Choose the tab Tracking Details Data for general reporting or Tracking Details Map for a map view of the historical data. 9. Tracking Details Data a. The report shows you each device transmission recorded by the Vehicle Name, Update Time, Location (if available), Temperature (if supported), Cost Center, Speed, Odometer, and Move Status (Stopped, Moving, or Idle). 10. Tracking Details Map a. View the historical data of the report on a map, including Breadcrumb Trail, Geofences, Route, Vehicle Direction during the route, the address of status updates, Move Status, Speed, and Update Time, Idle and Stop locations. b. Hover the mouse over any status update arrow to view the included route information. c. The map will cluster multiple data points together. The numbers in circles indicate there are that many points under that cluster. Zoom the map to expand clusters. Propel PRO Version 3.2.0a Page 21

Tracking Details Playback 1. While on the Tracking Details Map and viewing data, you can playback an animation of the route a vehicle or asset took. 2. Click the Vehicle List drop down and choose a vehicle to playback. Click the Play button next to the vehicle or asset name. 3. You will see on the screen a playback bar, with the starting and ending times available based on the date and time range you chose when viewing the Tracking Details report. The start time is marked as a green S symbol on the map, and the end time is marked as a red E. 4. You may adjust the start and end times to playback by adjusting the slider bars. 5. Click Start Playback and the vehicle or asset icon will begin to move. 6. You may click Follow Playback to keep the vehicle or asset icon center on the map, panning the map around as it moves. 7. Click Stop Playback to stop the playback animation. Trip 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Trip. 2. A full report will be generated for download that includes available information such as Address, Heading, Speed, Move Status Time, Vehicle Name, Heading, Latitude, Longitude, Cost Center, Update Time, and its most recently entered Geofence. Vehicle Event Code 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Vehicle Event Code 2. You can sort the table data by clicking on a column header; Vehicle Name, Address, Event Time, Event Code Type and the Event Category. 3. Event Categories: Door, Idle and Ignition Status 4. Event Code Types: Door Open/Closed, Idle Start/Stop and Ignition On/Off. 5. Filter by selecting either the Vehicle Name, Event Type or Event Category Vehicle Utilization 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then Vehicle Utilization. 2. VIN History 1. On the main menu, click Reports, then VIN History. 2. You can view all vehicles your account has access to, or you can choose a particular vehicle in the Filter selection. 3. A data table will show you detail when a VIN change was made for a vehicle on the Vehicle Status screen. It will list the name of the vehicle, the location of the vehicle when the change was made, the VIN value that was entered, and the date and time the change was made. Report Delivery The report delivery feature can be used to send a report to an email address by an attached.csv (comma separated value) file. You may schedule reports to send immediately, or at a future date and time, and even on a recurring schedule. Viewing Report Delivery 1. On the main menu, click Report Delivery 2. On the List Schedule tab to see a listing of previously configured report deliveries. 3. Users will only be able to view report deliveries they created. 4. Managers may view all report deliveries created by any manager or user within this customer. 5. The table shows the detail of the report delivery, its name, the type of report, the schedule, recipients, filter criteria, last run date, next run date and who currently owns the report. New Report Delivery 1. On the main menu, click Report Delivery 2. On the New Schedule tab, enter information about the new report delivery 3. Enter the email recipients to receive the report. You may enter multiple email addresses by separating them with a comma. user1@example.com, user2@example.com 4. Enter the report delivery name. 5. Select the type of report. You may choose from the same reports your account has access to view on the main menu, for example geofence alerts, idle, mileage, posted speed limit, tracking details and more. 6. Depending on the report you choose, you may also select Filter Criteria. You may filter by only certain vehicles, custom date range or dynamic date ranges like Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days. 7. Note when scheduling a report for future or recurring delivery, the date range selected is most effective when choosing a dynamic date range like Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days. This date range will be calculated as of the time the report is ran each time. If you select Last 7 Days, and run the report weekly, each weeks report delivery will have its most recent 7 days included. 8. Select when to send the report by selecting Now or On a Schedule 9. If you select Now, the report will process now and be sent to the recipients shortly on a one time basis. 10. If you select On a Schedule, you may choose your schedule on the additional prompts. Select the starting date, select how often (Daily, Weekly, Monthly), select the time, and select the ending date, if any. 11. Click Schedule Report to save this report delivery configuration. Reports set to run now will begin processing. Edit Report Delivery 1. On the main menu, click Report Delivery. 2. On the List Schedule tab, click the Edit button beside the report to edit. 3. On the List Schedule tab, click the Delete button beside the report to delete. 3. Users and managers will only be able to delete reports they own. Users Managers may add or delete other users on their account and assign the permissions of User or Manager as outlined in the beginning of the User Guide. Add a User 1. On the main menu click Users. 2. At the top right of the screen, click on the Add New Customer User button 3. Edit or Delete a User or Manager 1. On the main menu, click Users. 2. On the user listing, click the Edit or Delete buttons next to the user name. Vehicles 1. On the main menu, click Vehicles. 2. The report displays the Vehicle Details icon, VID, Vehicle Name, Address, Current Speed, Odometer, Comments, VIN, Temperature (if available) and Actions (Edit or Delete) 3. Clicking on the Vehicle Details icon opens a new page to display the location of the vehicle on a map, and current status information including last update time & date, vehicle status (moving, stopped, idle), speed, address, coordinates, make & model if provided, and vehicle type. 4. Choose Enabled to support Temperature and/or HOS Logs functions 5. You must fill in the ESN of the device in order for tracking and logging data to be processed 6. Click Save Alert Configs Propel PRO will alert either a user or manager by their preferred contact method on exceptions like Geofence and Speeding. Managers have access to set up alerts for both themselves and Users. Users do not have access to set up alerts. Alert Recipients 1. After logging in as a Manager-level user, on the main menu, click Alert Configs, then Recipients. 2. All current alert recipients are listed with ID, phone number, cell provider, and e-mail address. 2. Enter the alert recipient s phone number, select the cellular provider, and enter the e-mail address. Then click Save. Edit or Delete Alert Recipients 1. On the user listing, click the Edit or Delete buttons next to the user name. Manage Alerts 1. On the main menu, click Alert Configs, then Manage Alert 2. Choose between New Alert Wizard or My Existing Alerts a. New Alert Wizard choose from the following alert options i. New Geofence Alert ii. New Continuous Tracking Alert iii. New Temperature Alert iv. New Event Alert v. New Speed Alert b. My Existing Alerts contains all current alerts. Choose Edit or Delete under Actions to make changes to your available alerts. Customers For Propel GPS documentation, the term Customers typically refers to a subset of the staff of an Owner s company. These subsets may include Customers, Departments, Divisions, or Regions which can be used to segregate an owner's company into smaller groups for ease of management. Smaller companies may choose to setup just a single Customer, Department, Division or Region. Add a Customer 1. After logging in as an Owner-level user, select Customers on the main menu. 2. Click on Add New Customers. 3. Enter the Company Name (This could be your Customer, Department, Division or Region name), and enter their Time Zone from the drop down menu. 4. Edit a Customer Edit Customer Roles 1. After logging in as an Owner-level user, select Customers on the main menu. 2. Find the Customer card you wish to modify in the Customer listing. 3. Click on Roles to display a chart of possible site features. Place a check mark next to the name of each site feature you wish this Customer to have access to. 4. Click the green Update button above the chart of features to save these settings. The different features your account has available will depend on your service plan. If you wish to add or delete features from your account, please contact your account manager. Delete a Customer 1. After logging in as an Owner-level user, select Customers on the main menu and find the Customer you wish to delete in the Customer listing. 2.
