The box should not be less than 1/5 or greater than 1/3 the size of the image. 5. In the Motion Estimation Sensitivity Threshold field, define how sensitive the embedded video analytic is to motion. 6. To configure the advanced settings, select Show Advanced Options and configure the advanced settings. Aimetis People Counter User Guide 6

Configuration Settings 7. Click Save. Setting Motion Estimation Sensitivity Threshold Enhanced Logging Marginalize Consider only contiguous segments Multiple object support in width (side-by-side) Min object width ratio Max object width ratio Object line crossing duration (seconds, 1 to 10) Description The setting defines how sensitive People Counter is to consistent motion. Increasing this setting reduces the number of false alarms. The default value is 4.00. This setting allows the camera to register all activities in the form of logs (for debugging and troubleshooting purposes). This setting can impact performance and it is recommended that you leave enhanced logging off. The default value is Off. This setting reduces how sensitive People Counter is to varying colors. Selecting this option can increase processing speed and decrease counting accuracy. It is recommended that you leave the marginalize setting off. The default value is Off. This setting causes People Counter to only count groups of people as a single object. It is recommended that you leave the Consider only contiguous segments setting off. The default setting is Off. Select this setting if people can cross the counting line side-by-side. If you turn this setting off, the Max Object Width Ratio setting does not apply. The default value is On. This setting defines the minimum width, with respect to the size of the Person Size box, that an object must be for People Counter to count. The default value is 0.40. This setting defines the maximum width, with respect to the size of the Person Size box, that an object can be before People Counter counts it as two objects. The default value is 1.70. This setting defines how long (in seconds) it takes a typical person to completely cross the counting line. The default value is 1.00 Aimetis People Counter User Guide 7

Configuration Setting Multiple object support in length (consecutive) Description Select this setting if people can follow each other with a very small gap across the counting line. If you turn this setting off, the Max Object Length Ratio setting does not apply. The default value is On. Min object length ratio This setting defines the minimum time that an object can take to cross the counting line for People Counter to count the object. The default value is 0.50.
