Warnings to Parents and Other Users Failure to follow these warnings and the assembly instructions could result in serious injury or death. STRANGULATION HAZARD. Keep the adapter cord out of the reach of children. Do not use with extension cords. NOT a toy, do not allow child to play with product or place in a crib. DO NOT place the unit or its cord within your child s reach. Do not put the unit inside a crib or playard. Allow for proper ventilation when unit is in use. Do not cover the unit with any object such as a blanket. Do not place it in a drawer or in any location which would muffle the sound or interfere with the normal flow of air. DO NOT immerse any part of the unit in water. Clean only with a dry cloth. DO NOT place unit near water and moisture. Do not use the unit outdoors. Do not use the unit near possible wet areas, such as a bathtub, shower, wash basin, sink, laundry tub, swimming pool, wet basement, humidifiers, etc. Keep unit away from heat sources, such as fireplaces, radiators, stoves, and TVs or other appliances. Battery Information Keep the batteries out of children s reach. Any battery may leak battery acid if mixed with a different battery type, if inserted incorrectly (put in backwards) or if all batteries are not replaced or recharged at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Any battery may leak battery acid or explode if disposed of in fire or an attempt is made to charge a battery not intended to be recharged. Never recharge a cell of one type in a recharger made for a cell of another type. Discard leaky batteries immediately. Leaky batteries can cause skin burns or other personal injury. When discarding batteries, be sure to dispose of them in the proper manner, according to your state and local regulations. Remove batteries before storing product for a prolong period of time. Batteries left in the unit may leak and cause damage. Recommended type batteries alkaline disposables, size AA (LR06). NEVER mix battery types. Change batteries when product ceases to operate satisfactorily. 6

Installing Batteries 1 Tool Required: Phillips screwdriver Rotate tray to open. 2 Remove battery compartment cover. 3 Insert 4-AA (LR06) batteries as shown. 9

4 Replace the battery compartment cover. 5 Rotate tray closed. OR 10

Sound Machine Audio On/Off 6 7 To turn ON audio, press audio on/off button. When unit turns on, it will return to last sound or audio source (if MP3 was last selected) and volume selection, prior to shutting off. The light will illuminate when audio is on. To turn OFF audio, press audio on/off button. 11

Setting Timer 8 Press timer button to start a 60 minute product timer. The timer will shut off all sound functions 60 minutes after it is set. 9 The button will light up when timer is activated and begin flashing one minute before the product shuts off. (Time expires) NOTE: Timer can only be activated if audio is on/enabled. 12

Selecting Location 10 For best performance, place unit within two feet of a wall, and avoid placing directly in a corner. 13

Sound Modes 11 12 The soothing sounds button selects from two distinct white noise tones and nature sounds including: womb sounds, stream, forest, whales, and distant storm. The selected soothing sound will play continuously until a different sound is selected or the timer turns the product off. Press the button to skip to the next sound. The soothing lullabies button selects soothing music. All 5 relaxing music tracks will play one after another and then begin again with the first track. NOTE: Timer is deactivated /disabled when audio is turned off. 14

Music Playback using external MP3 player 13 To use your MP3 player with unit, turn tray out from base of unit. 14 Connect your MP3 player to the unit using the plug in the tray. 15 Place MP3 player in tray. 16 If your MP3 player does not fit in the tray, pull the plug through opening in side of tray. 15

To adjust volume when using MP3 player 17 Turn on MP3 player. Adjust volume on MP3 player to lowest volume setting. Turn on sound machine. Press MP3 input button on sound machine and adjust to desired audio volume using the volume control on the MP3 player. 18 Increase volume. NOTE: Volume control buttons on the sound machine are disabled during MP3 music playback. 19 Decrease volume. NOTE: These buttons control volume for all white noise, nature sounds and lullabies. NOTE: Volume is recalled when you turn unit off/on. 16

Night Light 20 Quickly tap the top of the sound machine to turn ON the night light. 21 Quickly tap the top of the sound machine to turn OFF the night light. 17

Night Light To prevent night light from turning on when traveling, activate the travel lock. 22 Make sure audio is turned off. Press and hold top of sound machine down for at least 4 seconds. Once travel lock is activated, the night light will not turn back on until lock is deactivated. 23 To deactivate the travel lock, press the audio on/ off button once. Normal operation will resume. NOTE: Whether night light is turned on or off, holding down the top of the sound machine for 4 seconds will turn the night light off and activate the travel lock. 18

Trouble Shooting Most problems have a simple solution. First, check that: Audio is turned ON Volume is turned up Sounds or lullabies is selected. No Sound Batteries dead or weak replace all. Volume setting too low turn it up. To Reset Unit If the unit is not functioning properly then disconnect wall plug and remove batteries. After 10 seconds reconnect power source. Night Light If night light is not working press audio on/off and tap night light. 19
