Frequently asked questions of Small and Medium Sizes Enterprises (SME) May I participate in Horizon 2020? Definitely yes. SMEs, mid-caps, start-ups are welcome and required in Europan projects. Their participation is explicitly encouraged in many digitization calls. Do SMEs benefit from European projects? Yes, some were even built on EU projects. The benefit depends mainly on the involvement. At least projects extend the horizon - beyond 2020. Will a European project solve my daily problems? Only if you provide a specific use case for the project. Frequently they contribute to R&D and strategic topics and provide orientation for development and positioning. What is important for a successful participation? A good co-ordinator, who understands the needs of SMEs Good technical and administrative management with support for SMEs Seite 22
