GS US Data Hub. Company Using the Company Menu
Overview of the Company Menu GS US Data Hub Company is an intuitive, secure online tool that provides source-based (not crowd-sourced), validated data on GS Company Prefix ownership that is accessible in a scalable way. Via the Company menu you can: Look up GS Company Prefixes and export the full list of GS US-validated GS Company Prefix data. Confirm GS US Prefixes are properly registered with GS to help support data quality. Match U.P.C.s and verify brand owners and Company Prefix information to a list of GTINs/U.P.C.s, GLNs, or Company Prefixes that you might already have. List Match* Download* Search for multiple companies at one time by uploading an Excel file to match the results. Download the list of GS Company Prefixes licensed through GS US. * requires a separate subscription.
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY View Use / Company Search by company name to verify GS US membership. Enter additional parameters (address, city, zip code, or prefix origin) to narrow search results. To search by a company name, complete the following: Click Company > View Use From the Company tab, type in the company name you want to search for. Search results will populate based on a contain filter as opposed to if you check mark the Exact Match Only button, it will display results with the exact match of the company name field. Click Search. The Search Results will display the matching names and their GS Company Prefixes. To export the search results list click Export Results (this is only an option with the Export subscription). Note: this file will download an Excel spreadsheet.
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY View Use / Prefix Search by Company Prefix to verify GS US membership. To search by a Company Prefix, complete the following: Click Company > View Use. Click the Prefix tab. Type in the company s Prefix number you want to search for. Click Search. The Search Results will display the matching prefix number and information about the company that licensed that prefix. Note: Company Prefix data is only returned for companies registered with GS US.
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY View Use / GTIN Search by GTIN (Global Trade Item Number). GTINs are found on products sold at a store or on-line and on cases and pallets in a distribution or warehouse environment. They can be 8,,, or digits in length. To search by GTIN, complete the following: Click Company > View Use. Click the GTIN tab. Type in the company s GTIN number you want to search for. Click Search. The Search Results will display the company associated with that GTIN and information about the GS Company prefix used to generate that GTIN. 6
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY View Use / GLN Search by GLN. The -digit GLN identifies physical locations such as stores, manufacturing centers, warehouses, corporate headquarters, etc. To search by GLN complete the following: Click Company > View Use. Click the GLN tab. Type in the company s GLN number you want to search for. Click Search. The Search Results will display the company associated with that GLN and information about the GS Company prefix used to generate that GLN. 7
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY Company / List Match Verify brand owners and Company Prefix information by uploading an Excel file of GTINs/U.P.C.s, GLNs, or Company Prefixes. To use List Match, complete the following: 6 7 6 7 Create an Excel file of GTINs/U.P.C.s, GLNs, or GS Company Prefixes* (enter data in column A). In cell A enter the word ID. Save the file locally on your computer. Click Company > List Match. Choose from the Identifier drop down to search by GTIN/U.P.C, GLN, or GS Company Prefix. Click Upload. Locate the Excel file on your computer and attach. You will see the file name displayed in the Upload File field. Click Submit. Click Refresh until the status is complete. You can also continue on to other tasks. The import results will be waiting when you return to this page. Click the File hyperlink to Open/Save the Excel file with the search results. The file will contain both matches and any errors from the input data. Note: results will stay available for 90 days. NOTE: Only one type of identifier (GTINs/U.P.C.s, GLNs, or GS Company Prefixes) allowed per input file 8
GS US DATA HUB COMPANY Company / Download Quickly identify GS Company Prefixes that are active or inactive. To download a list, complete the following: Click Company > Download. For Complete US Prefix List Active and Inactive go to step. For Complete US Prefix List Active Only go to step. For Monthly Prefix Changes go to step. Click Download to retrieve the Complete US Prefix List Active and Inactive file of company prefixes that have been assigned by GSUS to date. Click Download to retrieve the Complete US Prefix List Active Only file of all active GS US Company prefixes as of the date created. Select from the drop down what month to download. Click Download to retrieve the Monthly Prefix Changes file of all prefixes that were modified by GS US during that month. NOTE: Download experience varies by web browser. In addition, be aware of the file sizes as they may be very large and take some time to download! 9
