Chapter 1: Introduction Pre-Installation Worksheet Record the following information about your system in this worksheet prior to starting the workstation setup. The Newmarket Systems Engineer that installs Delphi provides you with this information. The following information is stored when the first workstation is set up, and shows up as default values during subsequent workstation installations. Enter Information Description Database Server Name Database Server IP Address Global MTS Server Name Global MTS Server DSN Local MTS Server Name Local MTS Server DSN SMTP Pickup Path Overview This manual explains how to run workstation setup for version 9.5 of the following Newmarket International products: Delphi Select Edition Delphi Single-Property Edition Delphi Multi-Property Edition Delphi Select Multi-Property Edition Delphi Global Sales Edition If you have any problems during the workstation setup, contact Newmarket Support at 603-427-6400. Installation Requirements Before starting you must perform the following: If performing a new installation of Workstation Setup, fill out the Pre-Installation Worksheet. You must have local administrator rights to system resources. Make sure that Internet Explorer Version 6.0 SP1 or later is installed on the workstation. Make sure that you have the correct permissions to the NGS Share directory on the program server, and have a Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. drive mapped to it. Make sure the workstation s monitor resolution is set to 800 X 600 or higher. Close all Windows programs on the workstation before starting the setup program. If the merge function is to be used, Microsoft s Word and Excel versions XP, 2003, or 2007 must be installed on the workstation. Note: In order for the merge feature to work properly, macro security must be set to Medium or Low. Merge does not work if the macro security is set to High. See Appendix A, Setting Macro Security, page A-1 for instructions. Installation Checklists Complete the procedures below, depending on your specific installation scenario. New Installation of 9.5 Run workstation setup on the new workstation. See Procedure 2, Delphi Workstation Setup. Upgrading from Version 7.1.x or Earlier Remove the User DSN if it exists. See Procedure 1, Remove the User DSN. Run workstation setup on a workstation where Delphi is upgraded from 7.1.x or an earlier version. See Procedure 2, Delphi Workstation Setup. Upgrading from Version 7.2 or Later Delphi Upgraded on Same Server Delphi Upgraded on New Server If you have upgraded from Delphi version 7.2 or later, on the same server, the workstation update starts automatically the first time Delphi is launched. See Procedure 3, Updating a Delphi Workstation. If you have upgraded from Delphi version 7.2 or later, on a new server, the workstation setup program needs to be run. See Procedure 2, Delphi Workstation Setup. New Installation of Delphi Diagrams If you have installed Delphi Diagrams for the first time on the server, the workstation needs to be configured. See Procedure 5, Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation. Upgrade of Delphi Diagrams If you have upgraded from a previous version of Delphi Diagrams, uninstall the current version of Delphi Diagrams. See Procedure 4, Uninstall Delphi Diagrams. Install the new version of Delphi Diagrams. See Procedure 5, Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation. Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. Chapter 2: Workstation Setup Procedures Procedure 1 Remove the User DSN 1. On all workstations that are being upgraded from 7.1.3b, the User DSN must be deleted if it exists. 2. From Start, click Run. 3. In the Open box, type odbcad32 and click OK. From the ODBC Data Source Administrator, select the User DSN tab. 4. Click the NSS-MSSQL Data Source to highlight it, and click Remove. 5. When prompted, Are you sure you want to remove the NSS-MSSQL data source, click Yes. 6. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator. Procedure 2 Delphi Workstation Setup This procedure explains how to setup a client workstation to run Newmarket 9.5 products. The setup program installs MDAC if necessary, creates an ODBC data source, adds and configures MTS, and then automatically configures the workstation. This procedure explains how to run the workstation setup program on a computer running Windows 2000, 2003, or XP. The workstation setup program also lets you enable email functionality. To enable email, you must have already configured email on the server. Assumptions This procedure assumes that the program server is configured to run Newmarket 9.5 products, and the workstation installation requirements outlined in Installation Requirements, page 1-2 have been met. Steps To run the workstation setup program: 1. Map a network drive from the workstation to the Ngs directory on the Application server. Note: Newmarket suggests that you select drive N. 2. In the Ngs\Setup directory, double-click WSSetup.exe. Note: If Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 is not installed on your workstation, you receive a prompt informing you that Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 is about to be installed. Once it installs, the Workstation Setup continues. 3. In the Welcome window, click Next. 4. In the Software License Agreement window, click Yes. 5. If you are installing on Windows 2000, the Select Components window appears. 6. Click Next. Setup will install the Microsoft SQL Server Client files. Note: The setup program extracts the MDAC_typ.exe program, and then runs it on the workstation. MDAC is a self-extracting executable program that installs all necessary data access components on the workstation. The setup program can take up to five minutes to complete. 7. In the Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration window, do the following, and then click Next. In the Name box Description box Server box Do this Verify that NSS-MSSQL is the name of the data source. Enter a description of the data source (optional). Enter the Database Server Name. 8. In the next Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration window, click Client Configuration. 9. In the Edit Network Library Configuration window, do the following, and then click OK: Note: If you are installing multiple workstations, you need to configure the network library on the first workstation only. In the Server alias box Network libraries area Computer name box Port number box Do this Enter the Database Server Name Select TCP/IP. Enter the IP address of the database server. If you do not know this information, contact your system administrator. Verify that 1433 is the default port number. 10.In the Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration window, do the following, and then click Next. Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. In the Login ID box Password box Do this Verify that NI_REPORT is the default setting. Enter reportuser. The password is case sensitive. 11.In the next Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration window, click Next to accept the default settings for NSS_DATABASE. 12.In the next Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration window, accept the default settings, and then click Finish. 13.In the ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup window, verify that the ODBC settings are correct, and then click Test Data Source. 14.In the next ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup window, verify that the test completed successfully, and then click OK. Note: If the test does not complete successfully try again. Make sure that you entered the correct settings, such as data source name and server name. Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. 15.In the Product Installation window, select the product you are installing, and then click Next. 16.In the Program Setup window, do the following: Note: Drive N is the default for Newmarket International. If you must change the drive, you may choose a different drive from the Select Drive drop-down list. If you want to map a new drive, click Map Drive. Map the new drive, and then click Refresh to update the list in the Select Drive drop-down list. Use the Select Drive box to select the drive you just mapped and to have it added in the path to the Program, Screen, and INI directories. In the Auto Update check box Program directory box Screen directory box INI directory box Temp directory box Set Number box Schema Name box Do this Verify that Auto Update is selected. Verify the path to the Exe directory on the program server (for example, N:\EXE). Verify the path to the Screens directory on the program server (for example, N:\SCREENS). Verify the path to the INI directory on the program server (for example, N:\INI). Verify the path to the Temp directory on your workstation (for example, C:\TEMP or C:\NI\TEMP). Verify that 1 is the set number. Verify that NSS_DATABASE is the default setting. 17.Click Next. 18.In the Merge Setup window, type the following: Copyright 2007 Newmarket International Inc. In the Form box Details box Output box Do this Verify the path of the Forms directory on the program server (for example, N:\FORMS). Verify the path of the Details directory on the program server (for example, N:\DETAILS). Verify the path of the Eooutput directory on the program server (for example, N:\EOOUTPUT). Note: The drive letter in each box defaults to the drive you selected in the previous window. 19.Click Next. 20.If the Setup Other Folders window appears, select the following: Note: This dialog appears only if either the DelphiSync or MKTVISN folder is not in the default location. If either do not exist, you are prompted to try again, or to proceed without that component. In the DelphiSync box MKTVISN box Do this Type the path of the Outlook Integration Setup directory on the program server. Type the path of the MKTVISN directory on the program server. 21.Click Next. 22.In the Program Setup window, do the following: In the Global MTS Server box Global MTS DSN box Local MTS Server box Local MTS DSN box Enable Email check box File Size box SMTP Pickup Path box Do this Verify the Global MTS Server name. Verify the Global MTS server DSN. Verify the Local MTS server name. Verify the Local MTS server DSN. Select the check box if appropriate. Type the maximum file size per email attachment. Note: The maximum file size depends on the customer s email server package, typically 4,000,000 bytes. Verify the SMTP pickup path. Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. 23.Click Next. 24.Setup will determine if the required security settings for the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) are set. If all settings are not properly set, you will see a prompt like the following which lists the security settings that will be changed. If the dialog is displayed, click Next to allow Setup to make the required changes. If no changes are required, the dialog is not displayed. Note: A progress indicator appears and the Setup program copies and registers required files. Next, Setup automatically installs and configures the Newmarket COM+ Application Proxy. Setup automatically updates the.net Framework Runtime Security Policy to allo Delphi to be executed from your network share. Market Vision is then automatically installed. This can take a few minutes to complete. Setup will ask if you want to install the Crystal XI runtime. 25.Click Yes. The Welcome to the Newmarket Crystal XI Runtime Setup Wizard appears. 26.Click Next. The Select Installation Folder window appears. 27.If you want to change the location where Newmarket Crystal XI Runtime will be installed, click the Browse button. 28.Select who is to have access to Newmarket Crystal XI Runtime on this computer: either Everyone or Just me. Note: If you are not logged on as the normal user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window appears. 29.Click Next. 30.Once the Installation Complete window appears, click Close. Setup will ask if you want to install Outlook Integration, DelphiSync. 31.Click Yes. The About to Install DelphiSync window appears. 32.Verify that you have exited Microsoft Outlook, and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 33.Click Next. The Welcome to the Newmarket DelphiSync Setup Wizard appears. 34.Click Next. The Select Installation Folder window appears. 35.If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button. 36.Select who is to have access to DelphiSync on this computer: either Everyone or Just me. Note: If you are not logged on as the normal user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window appears. 37.Click Next. 38.Once the Installation Complete window appears, click Close. 39.In the Setup Complete window, select No, I will restart later. 40.Click Finish. 41.If this is a newly installed workstation, launch the Newmarket application by double-clicking the new icon. 42.If you installed DelphiSync during the workstation setup (see Step 23 - Step 32) you must configure Outlook for DelphiSync. Open Outlook. From Tools, click Options. Click the DelphiSync tab. Click Use Delphi Configuration. Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. NI Confidential Information. 13

Click OK and close Outlook. 43.If necessary, restart your workstation. 44.If Delphi Diagrams is also installed, you must also configure the workstation setup for Delphi Diagrams. Proceed to Configuring the Workstation for Delphi Diagrams, page 2-13. Now that you have run the workstation setup program, the update is complete and you can launch the Newmarket application. For each client using Word 2007 If a site does not have their drive letter mapped to N:, do the following: 1. Click the Word button. 2. Click Word Options. 3. Select Advanced. 4. Scroll down to the General section. 5. Click File Locations. 6. Select Workgroup templates. 7. Click Modify. 8. Browse to the network share and choose the EXE path. 9. Click OK on both the File Locations and the Word Options screens. 10.Close Word. Word will now search in this path when trying to attach to a template. Procedure 3 Updating a Delphi Workstation This section explains how to update a workstation with a Delphi version of 7.2 or later, when Delphi was updated on the existing server. You must run the workstation update at each workstation running a Newmarket product. The workstation update starts automatically the first time you launch the Newmarket product following the server upgrade. Note: The workstation setup program also lets you enable email functionality. To enable email, you must have already configured email on the server. Please call Newmarket s technical support for assistance. Assumptions This procedure assumes that you have upgraded the program server to run Newmarket 9.5 products, and the workstation installation requirements outlined in Chapter 1 have been met. Steps To run workstation update: 1. At the workstation, double-click the Newmarket product icon. A message appears informing you that the Delphi application on this workstation needs to be updated. 2. Click OK. The workstation update proceeds and the following message appears. 3. Click OK. Setup will update all required files and local settings, and then asks if you want to install the Outlook Integration, DelphiSync. 4. Click Yes. The About to Install DelphiSync window appears. 5. Verify that you have exited Microsoft Outlook, and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 6. Click Next. The Welcome to the Newmarket DelphiSync Setup Wizard appears. 7. Click Next. The Select Installation Folder window appears. 8. If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button. 9. Select who is to have access to DelphiSync on this computer: either Everyone or Just me. Note: If you are not logged on as the normal user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window appears. 10.Click Next. 11.Once the Installation Complete window appears, click Close. 12.In the Setup Complete window, select No, I will restart later. 13.Click Finish. 14.If you installed DelphiSync during the workstation setup (see Step 23 - Step 32 on page 2-8) you must configure Copyright 2007 Newmarket International, Inc. Outlook for DelphiSync. Open Outlook. From Tools, click Options. Click the DelphiSync tab. Click Use Delphi Configuration. Click OK and close Outlook. 15.Restart your workstation. 16.If Delphi Diagrams is also installed, you must also configure the workstation setup for Delphi Diagrams. Proceed to Configuring the Workstation for Delphi Diagrams, page 2-13. Now that you have run the workstation update program, the update is complete and you can launch the Newmarket 9.5 product. Configuring the Workstation for Delphi Diagrams If you have Delphi Diagrams installed, after you have run workstation setup for the Delphi 9.x application, you need to configure the workstation for Delphi Diagrams. If you have a new Delphi Diagrams application installed, skip Procedure 4 Uninstall Delphi Diagrams, page 2-13 and proceed to Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation, page 2-13. If an existing version of Delphi Diagrams was upgraded, you must first uninstall the older version of Delphi Diagrams, then install the new version. If Delphi Diagrams was installed for the first time, proceed to Procedure 4 Uninstall Delphi Diagrams, page 2-13. Procedure 4 Uninstall Delphi Diagrams Note: This procedure is to be performed only if upgrading an existing Delphi Diagrams version. If installing Delphi Diagrams for the first time, skip this procedure and proceed to Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation, page 2-13. 1. From Start, click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs. 3. Scroll to Delphi Diagrams and click Change / Remove. 4. Select Uninstall, Next, and Finish. 5. Scroll to DD Connector and click Change / Remove. 6. Select Uninstall, Next, and Remove All. Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation 1. Create a folder in the NGS\Diagrams folder named Install, and then copy the contents of the Delphi Diagrams CD to the Install folder. 2. For example if drive N: is mapped to NGS, browse to N:\Diagrams\Install folder and double-click Setup.exe. The Welcome Window appears. 3. Click Next. The Delphi Diagrams Installation Information window appears. 4. Click Next. The Customer Information window appears. 5. Enter your user name and click Next. The Choose Destination for Setup window appears. 6. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the location where you want Setup to install the files, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default. The Choose Destination for Shared files window appears. 7. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the mapped drive on the client that points to the NGS folder, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default. The Setup Type window appears. 8. Choose a setup type, and click Next. This opens the Select Program Folders window. 9. Type or select a program folder where you want to install the program icons, and then click Next. When the program files installation is complete, a prompt appears asking if you want to view the Guest Event Management (GEM) module setup instructions. 10.(Optional) Click Yes to view the instructions. 11.Click the ellipse button under Step 1 to browse to the Data Components folder in the shared files location. 12.Double-click OS32Data.mdb. 13.Click Test Connection. Chapter A: Appendix A Setting Macro Security In order for the merge feature to work properly in Word 2000 and XP, macro security must be set to Medium or Low. Merge does not work if the macro security is set to High. If you set macro security to Medium, you will be prompted to enable or disable macros each time you merge a document. When prompted, you must select enable. If you select Low, you will not be prompted each time you merge a document. If you have virus scanning software installed and updated, setting the macro security to Low may be the most appropriate. 1. Open Microsoft Word. 2. From Tools, point to Macro, and click Security. 3. Chapter B: Appendix B DelphiSync Installation and Configuration If DelphiSync was not installed when Workstation Setup was run on your workstation, you can install and configure DelphiSync at a later time. Installation Requirements Before installing DelphiSync, the following requirements must be met: The workstation you are installing DelphiSync on must be running Windows 2000 or XP. You must have local administrator rights to system resources on your workstation. Delphi must be previously installed on your workstation. Outlook 2000, 2003, or 2007 client must be previously installed and working on your workstation. Ensure that Outlook and Delphi are closed and not running prior to installing DelphiSync. To Install DelphiSync Components on your Workstation 1. Verify that you have exited Microsoft Outlook, and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 2. Browse to the NGS share (typically mapped to N:). 3. Look for the folder named OutlookIntegration, open it, and launch the DelphiSync.msi file within. The About to Install DelphiSync window appears. 4. Click Next. The Welcome to the Newmarket DelphiSync Setup Wizard appears. 5. Click Next. 6. The Select Installation Folder window appears. 7. If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button. 8. Select who is to have access to DelphiSync on this computer: either Everyone or Just me. Note: If you are not logged on as the normal user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window appears. 9. Click Next. 10.Once the Installation Complete window appears, click Close. Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync You must now configure Outlook for DelphiSync. 1. Open Outlook. 2. From Tools, click Options. 3. Click the DelphiSync tab. 4. Click Use Delphi Configuration. 5. Click OK and close Outlook. DelphiSync is now installed and ready to use.
