How it works An optical sensor and our patent pending detection algorithm capture and save meter readings every 15 minutes. The resulting data is transmitted for processing four times a day. Any mechanical meter can be transformed into a smart metering device in three easy steps. 1. Installation & Use No specialist knowledge is required to operate FAST EnergyCam, and our patent pending OCR assisted-install mechanism makes installation child s play. Your meter s mechanical counter remains visible even after the FAST EnergyCam is installed. Assisted installation: Move up Assisted installation: Move to the right Assisted installation: OK 2. Capturing Meter Readings The optical sensor captures an image of the meter reading every 15 minutes. Our patent pending detection algorithm transforms the resulting graphical information into a decimal value with a timestamp. This data is securely saved and transmitted for processing four times a day. 3. Data Transfer The readings captured by one or more FAST EnergyCam sensors are transmitted via wireless M-Bus or wired connection (M-Bus, Modbus, RS232, RS485, USB) to a gateway.
