The following items are included in the kit: Package Contents USB Flash Memory Card Reader Unit (Single Slot or Dual Slot) Installation CD Quick Start sheet To install the reader you need: One available USB port MacOS8.6 or higher Windows 98 or higher and Windows 2000 One available CD-ROM drive. 16MB RAM System Requirements

Product Applications USB Flash Memory Card Reader is designed to bridge between computer and Digital Cameras, Personal Digital assistants (PDA), Personal Organizers, Voice recorders, MP3 Players or other mobile electronic products using Flash Cards as standard or extended data storage media. USB Flash Memory Card Reader operates as a removable drive which allows you to download digital images and data instantly and easily to your computer. Product Features Transfer Rate: 500-800KB/Sec. or higher depending on your system configuration. Power: DC + 5 Volts supplied by USB port. Easy to install and use; Simply plug and play. Remarkable high-speed digital image and data transfer to computer. Portable and convenient to carry around for mobile photography and computing. Draws power directly from USB port without need for auxiliary power sources (batteries or AC/DC adapter). Specifically designed for digital cameras and also ideally for using with Palmtop PCs, Handheld PCs, PDAs, Voice Recorders, MP3 Players and other mobile electronics using Flash Cards as standard or extended storage media. Hot swapping capacity for reinserting Flash card without restarting the computer system. Optional Accessories CompactFlash Card Capacity: 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 48MB, 64MB or up are available. SmartMedia Card Capacity: 8MB, 16MB, 32MB or up are available. Calluna PC Card Capacity: 260MB, 520MB, 1040MB are available. CompactFlash Card adapter. SmartMedia Card Adapter compatible with SmartMedia up to 128MB. Hot Swapping USB Flash Memory Card Reader has the feature of hot swapping. Hot swapping allows you to remove and insert different Flash Cards without turning off host computer. The removal and insertion of different Flash Cards will be detected by computer automatically after device drivers have been installed to the computer. When a new Flash Card has been inserted into USB Card Reader, the LED light will go off and then back on again. This indicates, the Reader is recognized by the host computer. For Windows 98: Installation Guide 1. Plug the USB Flash Memory Card Reader into the USB Port.

2. The system will detect the reader and ask for the device driver. Click on "Next" to continue. 3. Slide the enclosed installation CD in the CD-ROM drive. Specify a location of "\Reader\Windows" in the CD-ROM drive (Assuming D:\). Click on "Next" to continue. 4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete installation.

5. The Reader will be recognized as a "Removable Disk" icon in "My Computer". For Windows 2000: 1. Boot up computer to Windows 2000. 2. Connect the USB Flash Memory Card Reader to computer. 3. The system will detect the Flash Memory Card reader default drivers automatically. 4. The USB Flash Memory Card Reader will be recognized as a Removable Disk icon in "MY COMPUTER".

For Macintosh OS 8.6 or higher: 1. Insert the enclosed installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Find and open "Mac" folder inside the folder " Reader" under the folder " Driver". The installer icon of "Reader" will appear. 3. Double click on the installer of "Reader" to install the drivers. 4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete installation. 5. Restart the system to activate the Reader. 6. Plug the USB Flash Memory Card Reader in the USB port.

7. Slide a Flash Memory Card in the Reader. 8. The Reader will be recognized as an "UNTITLED" drive icon on the Screen.!!!!!!!!!!!!!Important notice for Mac users:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1. To be safe, always drag and drop the "Untitled" drive icon into trash can before you remove the Flash Card from the reader or unplug the reader from USB port. 2. If the system hangs due to improper operation, unplug the reader and remove Flash Card then restart the system. When the system is back on, plug in the reader first then insert Flash Memory Card in the reader. Installation is complete.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations, you have successfully installed the USB Flash Memory Card Reader. Now, you are ready to read and write your Flash Memory cards. One Year Warranty Regulation This product is to be warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under the following terms: The effective period of this warranty is ONE year for parts and labor from the date of customer purchase. The maker is responsible only to repair or replace any defective hardware component part of such products. The buyer is obliged to pay shipping cost of sending defective products to the maker. The warranty will not apply when Any product, on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
