Introduction Purpose This document specifies the conformance of AMICAS' RadSuite Release 8.30.1 to the DICOM 3.0 standard. This document covers conformance for the following: Advanced Visualization - a high-performance, scalable, and standards-based viewing technology providing diagnostic, clinical, and web based reading capabilities. NOTE: All of the features specified within this document may not be included in the customer's purchased product. Determine which features are installed prior to reading this document. Implementation Model Advanced Visualization Advanced Visualization is a high-performance, scalable, and standards-based solution providing image access through unified worklists spanning multiple servers. The Advanced Visualization image display software is vended via a web site hosted on the server, and updates to the software are automatically deployed. Advanced Visualization is a thin-client software application that runs on industry standard platforms and scales from stand-alone teleradiology to enterprise-wide image management solutions. It supports multiprocessor architectures, RAID on-line storage, and component and system level fault tolerant design. Advanced Visualization is integrated with the RadSuite Archive for receipt of images, waveforms, key objects, presentation states, and structured reports. The Advanced Visualization DICOM SCU Server makes requests to store images, presentation states, key objects, and structured reports, and performs query and retrieve from remote archives, and print. The DICOM Services run as daemon processes under Linux. An association is initiated with a remote AE, and closed when all results have been received or an error condition occurs. The Advanced Visualization SCU implements the Verification Service (C-ECHO), Storage Service (C- STORE), DICOM Query/Retrieve Service (C-FIND, C-MOVE), Study Management Service class (MPPS), and the Print Management Service Class (N-CREATE, N-SET, N-ACTION, N-EVENT-RSP). If the SCP returns an Error status, the Association is aborted (No Reason Specified). Creating and Storing New DICOM Objects to a Remote System Associated Real-World Activity A user creates new DICOM Objects in the Image Display (such as a Grayscale Softcopy Presentation State). Secondary captures are created to save color ramps on a PR or KO. These objects are first stored on the local server. A user then has the option to store them permanently on an Archive. These are tags that can be added at the patient, study, and series level for display in a Worklist style. In the table below, a tag may appear more than once indicating this it is available at multiple levels (e.g., "Modality" is available at both the study and series level). Quality Control (QC) Mutable Attributes The table below displays the list of "mutable" attributes at the patient, study, series, and instance level. Within the context of this document, a "mutable" attribute refers to one that can be edited by QC related functionality within Advanced Visualization. Currently, Advanced Visualization restricts mutable attributes to ones that are parsed into its database upon storage and ones that pose no patient safety implications by allowing a user to edit them. An example of tags that are associated with patient safety are DICOM tags that define patient orientation and position information for cross sectional modalities like CT, MR, PT, and NM. Advanced Visualization does not allow such tags to be edited. Another QC classification are tags that can be changed in a controlled manner only. An example is that UIDs can typically be regenerated by certain QC functions but cannot be manually changed by the user. Although these are proprietary objects, they are converted to Structured Report (SR) and Basic Voice Audio Waveform (AU) objects and will be sent to any external archive if the entire contents of the relevant study are exported. DICOM Print Request Associated Real World Activity A user selects an image or series of images to be printed from the Advanced Visualization Viewer. Communication Profiles Supported Communication Stacks (Parts 8,9) RadSuite provides DICOM V3.0 TCP/IP Network Support as defined in PS3.8. TCP/IP Stack RadSuite inherits its TCP/IP stack from the Java virtual machine, and, by default, the underlying platform on which the virtual machine is executing. API The API used to enable the TCP/IP stack for RadSuite is the Java Socket API found in the java.net package of the Java Development Kit. Physical Media Support RadSuite is indifferent to the physical medium over which TCP/IP executes. This is inherited from the particular platform that the Java virtual machine is executing on. 26 of 29

Extensions/Specializations/Privatizations Standard Extended/Specialized/Private SOPs Advanced Visualization does not support sending or receiving Standard Extended, Specialized, or Private SOPs. Advanced Visualization does create some Private SOPs, but if these objects are needed on another DICOM device, they will be converted and exported via Standard SOPs. Private Transfer Syntaxes Advanced Visualization does not support Private Transfer Syntaxes. 27 of 29

Configuration The SCUConfiguration.xml file contains all the configuration of Advanced Visualization DICOM SCU Services. Only a RadSuite PACS Administrator or support staff can make configuration changes. AE Title/Presentation Address Mapping All AE Title/Presentation Address mapping can be seen in the configuration files noted above. Configurable Parameters The amount of configuration the system allows is extensive. In general, the following parameters are configurable for each component: Listening IP port number Application entity title Number of simultaneous associations Minimum and Maximum PDU DICOM Part 10 file storage location Accepted SOP Classes Remote AE list (AE Title, Hostname, Port) Network Timeout A member of Merge Healthcare's support staff must perform configuration. 28 of 29

Support of Extended Character Sets Advanced Visualization supports only ISO_IR 100 (ISO 8859-1 Latin 1) as an extended character set. 29 of 29
