IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Installation Disable Apple Security IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Remote access to IH applications is provided through IH Anywhere. To use IH Anywhere you will need to install the VMWare Horizon View client and have a 6 digit passcode. This document will guide you through the installation of VMWare Horizon View client. The Horizon view client is required to connect to IH Anywhere virtual desktops. Local administrative rights are required for the installer and a reboot is required to complete the installation. If you have any issues, please contact the IMIT Service Desk at 1-855-242-1300. 1. Installation Instructions If you are using Mac OS X (imac, MacBook Air/Pro, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro), please ensure the version of OS X will work with IH Anywhere Screen Shots/Images (red boxes are used to highlight the action in each step) You must have at least Mac OS X 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard for support. To see which version of OS X you have: Please click on the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. In this example the computer is running 10.10.1 Yosemite. IMIT Service Desk: 1-855-242-1300 Page 2
IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Installation Disable Apple Security The download for VMware Horizon View Client can be found on the VMware website (found here). Download the VMware Horizon Client for Mac by clicking on Go to Downloads. Click on Download *Current supported version for Mac is 3.5.0 If your version of OSX is lower than 10.8, use version 3.2.0* Please use the drop down bar to select the recommended version prior to clicking Download. The download will begin automatically. (Depending on your version of Safari the progress bar may appear differently than shown.) When the download completes, click on the Downloads icon to display the file, and then click on it to open. IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Installation Disable Apple Security The software license agreement will appear. Press Agree if you accept the terms of use. A window containing the application will appear. Drag the VMWare Horizon View Client icon to the Applications folder icon in the window. IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Installation Disable Apple Security If the Security & Privacy section is locked (padlock in the bottom left), you will have to unlock these settings using your Apple Mac local computer password (you should have set this up during your initial computer setup). You can now change the following option: Under Allow apps downloaded from: Select Anywhere You can now close this window by clicking the red dot in the top left corner. You will only need to follow these instructions if you are connected directly to the Interior Health network. Launch VMware Horizon View Client from the Applications folder on the Dock or using the Search menu (Hotkey: Command+Space) located at the top right of the screen. If you are missing a shortcut on the Desktop, please look to the Start Menu and then click All Programs. IH Anywhere for Apple OSX (MAC) Troubleshooting Internal Access 3. Troubleshooting For best performance, high-speed Internet (10 Mbps+) is recommended. Performance using cellular data (3G and 4G) may be limited in remote areas or where signal is weak. Dial-up Internet is not supported. Port TCP 4172 has to be open (on both firewall and workstation, in both directions) Port UDP 4172 has to be open (on both firewall and workstation, in both directions) If you receive a warning that you do not have admin rights to perform the download, contact your private IT support provider. Admin rights are required. (The IH IMIT Service Desk cannot assist). Uninstalling and reinstalling the Horizon View Client can also solve some issues (such as missing Printers). Interior Health IMIT Service Desk: 1-855-242-1300 To enable virtual printing before you connect to a desktop, select Desktop > Start Printing Services from the VMware Horizon View Client menu. IH Anywhere for Windows Installation Internal Access IH Anywhere for Windows Remote access to IH applications is provided through IH Anywhere. To use IH Anywhere you will need to install the VMWare Horizon View client, (this is required to connect to IH Anywhere) and have a 6 digit passcode. This document will guide you through the installation of VMWare Horizon View client. If you have any issues, please contact the IMIT Service Desk at 1-855-242-1300. ***Please note that you must have at least Windows XP (Service Pack 3) for the installation of VMWare Horizon View client. 4. Installation Instructions To determine which version of Windows you are running, complete the steps below or contact your private IT service provider: Screen Shots/Images (red boxes are used to highlight the action in each step) - Go to your Start Menu - Go to Control Panel - Click System - Under Windows Edition you will find your Windows Version - Under System Type, you will find whether your computer runs on 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. The download for VMware Horizon View Client can be found here: VMware Website - Select either the 32 bit View client download or 64 bit View client download. IH Anywhere for Windows Installation Internal Access Click on the Download button to begin. *Current supported version for Windows is 3.4.0* Please use the drop down bar to select the recommended version prior to clicking Download. *Windows XP and Windows Vista are supported only with Horizon Client 3.2.1* You will be prompted with Do you want to run or save this file? choose Run. If you have an option to launch VMware Horizon View Client after installation, uncheck this. *The Software is now installed* If you are prompted to restart your computer, please do so (make sure you close any open work first). IH Anywhere for Windows Troubleshooting Internal Access 6. Troubleshooting Troubleshooting with a Wi-Fi connection: For best performance, high-speed Internet (10 Mbps+) is recommended. If you can t connect, ensure your router s firewall has TCP and UDP port 4172 open in both directions Dial-up Internet is not supported. Troubleshooting with a cellular data connection: Performance using cellular data (3G and 4G) may be limited in remote areas or where signal is weak. Please be aware that usage of cellular data may incur significant utilization of your data plan. If you receive a warning that you do not have admin rights to perform the download, contact your private IT support provider. Admin rights are required. (The IH IMIT Service Desk cannot assist).
