IVANS Transfer Manager.NET Overview Important These instructions are only for AMS 360 In-house agencies running version 2.1 (or greater). Transfer Manager.NET must be installed before running download. Transfer Manager.NET provides you with the ability to pick up all of your download transactions (policy and accounting) via the internet. This method has a number of benefits including the following: No need for a dedicated phone line or modem specifically for download. Pick up download files for all your carriers using this technology, except those that use a proprietary means (Company Direct) for transmitting data. The Transfer Manager.NET software and documentation is available on the AMS Support FOCUS website. 07/07 4

The following table contains notes relating to the possible installation scenarios for Transfer Manager.NET and AMS 360 v2.1 or greater. Existing AMS 360 V2.0 Customers New AMS 360 V2.1 Customers Migrating AfW 5.3 to AMS 360 V2.1 Customers Do not uninstall any older versions of Transfer Manager you may be running on your AMS 360 IIS Server. The installation process detects configurations from your prior version and migrates them to the new version, saving you additional steps. After installation is complete you will be advised to uninstall the prior version. Download transactions in AMS 360 are handled by the AMS 360 IIS Server, not via a workstation. It is important that all workstations you currently use to connect to the IVANS Network have their download schedules disabled. Any dial-up modem currently installed on your AMS 360 IIS Server will no longer be needed. The following documentation lists the requirements for using this technology, installing the software, and the process for download. Requirements Transfer Manager.NET uses Microsoft.NET Framework version 1.1 or 2.0, and is subject to the minimum requirements as specified under the Redistributable section at the following URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/updates/default.aspx Note The Transfer Manager. NET installation determines if the server needs the Microsoft.NET Framework and will install it automatically if needed. 07/07 5

Hardware The following minimum hardware is required at the IIS Server where you will use Transfer Manager.NET: Note Workstation installation of Transfer Manager.NET is not supported. Microsoft Windows based web server (Windows Server 2000 or greater) running Microsoft IIS Server. (Windows Server 2003 is highly recommended) This server is used to run the web based portions of AMS 360 and must be separate from the database server. The IIS server will be used exclusively by AMS 360 and can not house other software. It is highly recommended that this server have 1GB or more memory. 1GHz or greater processor required. 2X or higher CD ROM SVGA (800x600) display with 256 colors (16 Bit High Color recommended) Other A Broadband (DSL or Cable) internet connection in your office. Transfer Manager.NET requires the TCP/IP protocol be properly configured in Windows. Transfer Manager.NET uses passive FTP protocol for interacting with IE over a private connection. The HTTP/S protocol is used for interacting with IE via the Internet, and also for interacting with ECS. Therefore, the standard FTP control port (port 21) and the standard HTTP/S port (port 443) should be properly configured in any firewall devices. Installing Transfer Manager.NET on the IIS Server Installation Time 20-30 minutes. AMS 360 v2.1 must first be installed on the AMS 360 Database Server and AMS 360 IIS Server. Transfer Manager.Net can then be installed on the AMS 360 IIS Server. (Installation requires a restart upon completion). 07/07 6

To have adequate rights to install Transfer Manager.NET you must be logged in to the AMS 360 IIS Server as Administrator. Users with Administrative Group rights is not adequate. Complete the following steps before beginning the installation procedures. 1. At the AMS 360 IIS Server, select Start > Logoff. The login dialog box appears. 2. At the Login dialog box, select user Administrator from the list. 3. Key the password, if needed. (AMS does not know your Administrator password.) 4. Click OK. You are now logged in as Administrator. You can now install Transfer Manager.NET. Installing IVANS Transfer Manager.NET Software Install the IVANS Transfer Manager.NET software only on the AMS 360 IIS Server. This will pickup Download files from the IVANS network. You do not need to install the software to assign customers or run Download reports. It is important that all workstations you currently use to connect to the IVANs Network have their download schedules disabled. Do not uninstall older versions of Transfer Manager from your AMS 360 IIS Server (if applicable). The installation process detects configurations from your prior version and migrates them to the new version saving you additional steps. After installation is complete you will be advised to uninstall the prior version. Use these procedures to install Transfer Manager.NET as an upgrade to prior versions of Transfer Manager, or to install Transfer Manager for the first time. Important You will need to reboot your AMS 360 IIS Server to complete this installation. This may disrupt users logged into AMS 360. You should ensure users are logged out of AMS 360 before starting. 1. At the AMS 360 IIS Server, close all other applications before installing Transfer Manager.NET. 2. If you have not already done so, download AMSTRANSNET.EXE from the AMS Support website: http://www.ams-support.com/iss/ams360/download_ams360.asp. and execute it on your AMS 360 IIS Server. 07/07 7

3. From Windows Explorer locate c:\transmannet (or the directory where you downloaded the file from the AMS Support website). Then find and double-click IVANSTMNET3.2.1.0.EXE to begin the installation. The following dialog box appears: 4. Click Next. The Installation Folder dialog box displays. 5. AMS suggests that you use the default directory. Click Finish to continue with the installation. Important Using the default folder enables AMS Customer Service to provide support more easily. 07/07 8

9. If.NET Framework is not found, the following dialog box appears. Click Install. Otherwise, skip to step 12. 10. To proceed with the installation, click Install. The Installing Components dialog box appears, no response is required. 07/07 10

11. After several minutes the.net Framework will install successfully and the following dialog box displays. Confirm that Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected and click Finish. Note It is important to restart the server after this installation. When the restart completes and you log onto the server, InstallShield restarts at the point where you left off. Be sure to log back on as Administrator. 12. Upon logging onto your server the following message appears: 07/07 11

13. The Transfer Manager.NET License Agreement appears. Read the agreement and then click Yes to continue with the installation. 14. The Destination Location dialog box appears. AMS Support recommends accepting the default location. Click Next. 07/07 12

15. Before you begin copying the files, you have the opportunity to review your selections. When you are ready to install Transfer Manager.NET click Next. 16. A dialog box appears with a status bar as setup runs on the server. No response is required. 07/07 13

17. If InstallShield detects a prior version of Transfer Manager on the server, the following dialog box appears. Click Next. If this is the first installation of Transfer Manager on the server, continue with step 23. 18. A dialog box displays asking you to verify the directory of your prior version of Transfer Manager. This is the default installation directory. Click Next. 07/07 14

19. The next dialog box asks you to verify the directory location of Transfer Manager.NET. This is also the default installation directory. Click Next. 20. The following dialog box appears asking you to verify your selections and allows you to return to previous dialog boxes if you need to change the information. When you are ready to move the configuration details to Transfer Manager.NET, click Migrate. 07/07 15

If messages similar to the following appear during the migration process, click OK. 21. When the configuration has been migrated the following dialog box appears asking if you want to copy archives. Although you are given the option copy or not, it is extremely important that you choose Copy Archives. This process copies important information settings to your new installation of Transfer Manager.NET. When you are ready to proceed, click Copy Archives. 07/07 16

22. When Copy Archives is complete, the following dialog box displays. Click Finish. 23. The Transfer Manager.NET installation is complete and the following dialog box appears. If you had an earlier version of Transfer Manager installed and configured, nearly everything transfers to the new software including your configurations and mailbox. However, you do need to make several changes to complete the configuration so the software uses the internet versus a dial up line. So, whether this is a new or upgraded installation, complete the steps in the next section, Update Mailbox. 07/07 17

Update Mailbox Use this procedure to complete the mailbox configuration. In this section you are shown how to add the ECS and IE mailboxes. The following settings enable your server to use the internet for download pickup. This is a one-time step. If you have previously installed and run download sessions using Transfer Manager.NET, you do not need to repeat these steps again, unless AMS Download Support advises you to do so. 1. At the AMS 360 IIS Server, click Start > All Programs > Transfer Manager.NET. The IVANS Transfer Manager software opens. 2. From the menu, click Configuration > Support Mode. This allows you to see and access entries that are otherwise protected. 3. From the menu, click Configuration > Site Settings. The Site Settings dialog box appears. 4. Two server configurations appear in the list. Do the following and then click OK: - In the ECS Site Configuration section select IVANS ECS Internet from the list. - In the IE Site Configuration section select Information Exchange Internet from the list. 07/07 18

Setting Up Your Mailbox Use the following procedure to set up your mailbox with your agency s codes. This information allows for the automated login and retrieval of your electronic data from IVANs. 1. At the AMS 360 IIS Server, if Transfer Manager. NET is not already running, from your Windows Taskbar, click Start > All Programs > Transfer Manager.NET. 2. From the menu, click Configuration > Mailboxes. The Transfer Manager Setup dialog box appears. 3. Click Add. The Add Mailbox dialog box displays. 4. Enter the following information supplied to you by your download company: Account User ID Mailbox Password Note AMS does not have this information. If you migrated from AfW this information can be found on your old download workstation. If you cannot locate the information contact one of your download companies for it. 5. From the Location list, select IVANS ECS Internet. This enables internet communications. 07/07 19

6. Select the Online checkbox and click OK. 7. Repeat steps 1 through 4 above. From the Location list select IVANS Exchange Internet. 8. Check the Online checkbox and click OK. You are now ready to begin your daily download pickup using the new Transfer Manager.NET. After you complete your first successful (no errors) communications session with IVANS with the newly installed Transfer Manager.NET software it is important to uninstall any prior version of Transfer Manager. For instructions on uninstalling a prior version see the Uninstalling a Prior Version of Transfer Manager section. Uninstalling a Prior Version of Transfer Manager After successfully completing a download session where you pick up data from either the IE and/or ECS servers, it is important that you uninstall the prior version of Transfer Manager to avoid unintentionally using it for a download communication session. Use the following procedure to uninstall a prior version: Note This applies to old versions of Transfer Manager on your IIS Server and/or any download workstations you may have. 1. From the Windows Taskbar click Start > All Programs > Transfer Manager > Uninstall Transfer Manager. Caution Take care on the IIS Server not to select the newly installed Transfer Manager.NET. 2. A Confirm File Deletion dialog box appears. Click Yes. 3. If you receive a Remove Shared File? message, click No to All. 4. When the uninstall is complete, a dialog box appears to verify the process is finished. Click OK. 07/07 20
