Profiles Tab (For setting up camera profiles) In order for PediGait IP to function properly the system must properly detect the network cameras. Once these cameras are properly detected, profiles must be established so that PediGait IP knows which camera to place in which quadrant of the screen. The Profiles tab provides the interface for setting up cameras. 1. Connect all cameras to the network router and power it using supplied AC adapter. Make sure that 3 green lights appear on the back off all cameras (this will take several seconds). In order for the cameras to obtain a valid network address a DHCP server must be connected to the network router. This may be done one of two ways. A) Connect the router to an office or home network that is equipped with a DHCP server using one of the free ports (ask you network administrator if you are unsure of this). B) Connect the supplied network switch (small black box) to one of the free ports on the router and power it using supplied AC adapter. IMPORTANT: Use option A or B only. Connecting the router to both a DHCP equipped network AND the supplied switch may result in the network cameras getting invalid network addresses and therefore will prevent them from functioning properly. Figure 5. Settings Tab 2. Launch PediGait IP. 3. Select the Settings tab. 4. Click the Detect Cameras button to detect connected cameras. PediGait IP Users Manual 5

Figure 6. Detect Cameras 5. Watch the black section of the screen to view the detection process (this will take several seconds). When the detection is complete, the 4 cameras will be listed and unique network addresses will be seen next to each camera. Figure 7. Delete a Profile 6. 15. Loading Profile: Once the profile is saved (e.g. Profile 1), right click the profile name and select Load from context menu to load the profile. You can also Delete or Rename a profile using the same menu or Delete Profile or Rename Profile buttons. TIP: Use keyboard shortcuts such as (CTRL+1, 2,..., 0) to load profiles quickly from any screen where the cameras are visible (see Appendix C). IMPORTANT: If the PediGait IP network switches is powered down for an extended period of time the cameras may lose their network addresses and will be undetected by the system. This will manifest itself in some or all of the video panels not displaying the video streams from the cameras in Live view mode. In the event of camera loss, first try to load a camera profile using the keyboard shortcuts or Profiles interface. If this fails, recreate a new profile as described in the section above. PediGait IP Users Manual 10

Export a Client video file The Export feature is used generate AVI and Pedi Video Player files so that captures can be viewed by anyone who does not have the PediGait IP software. This feature is useful for generating files to upload to YouTube, to insert into PowerPoint presentations, to share with colleagues or to give to a client so they may view the files on their home computer. In order to export a file: Select Clients tab. Next, select the client that you are interested in exporting by clicking once on its name. It is possible to use the multi selection function by holding CTL and clicking on the names of the clients one after another in order to select more than one file. As seen in the image below, a client may have more than one capture to their name. By clicking on the + sign, it is possible to view all the captures taken for this client. Clicking the checkboxes will select or deselect the captures that require exporting. Selecting the checkbox immediately to the left of the clients name will automatically select all the captures taken for that individual. In the upper right hand corner of the export window you will find a Browse button. Press the Browse button to select the location of where the file will be saved. To start the export process, click the Start button. You can cancel the export by clicking the Cancel button. When the export is done, the following dialogue box will ask you if you want to open the folder where the files have been placed. Figure 23. PediGait Video Exporter PediGait IP Users Manual 16

Figure 24. Export Confirmation Figure 25. File Export Example Each video capture will be exported as an AVI file and a standalone application EXE file. Your logo will be in the middle of the exported 4-view capture, but in order to do this you must setup a watermark first. See the end of this section for watermark installation. You can open the AVI file with any media player that supports XVid AVI files. If you do not have a compatible media player, simply click on the.exe version of the file that was generated to view the file in the standalone player. This standalone player will only function on a PC and is not Mac compatible. Figure 26. Media Player version and Pedi standalone version PediGait IP Users Manual 17

Watermark Setup Locate where PediGait IP has been installed on the computer by right clicking on the PediGait IP shortcut on the desktop and drilling down to Open File Location. In this directory, place a PBG file named exactly watermark.png. The PNG file must be at least 144 X 89 pixels in dimension. Select the ideal size for your application using trial and error. Too large of a PNG file will take up too much room on the 4 view export effectively masking the images while placing a watermark that is too small will not be seen or legible. The size of the watermark is 20% of the video resolution 4 view video file. If you are using a 1600x1200 resolution then 20% of this will yield PNG dimensions of 320x240 pixels. If a transparency is desired in the watermark, color the pixel located in the extreme upper left corner of the PNG image with the color that will become transparent in the final product. If your logo for example is a combination of royal blue and white, placing a royal blue pixel in the upper left corner will result on any blue element of your logo becoming transparent in the finished product. If the check box next to Peek color transparency in watermark is checked in the Settings tab, the transparency feature will be enabled. Importing and exporting networkable captures (for sharing files with other PediGait IP users) The Export function described in the section above is useful for sharing video files with those who are not equipped with the PediGait IP software. These videos have limited usage in that they may only be played back without the ability to use the tools integrated into PediGait IP such as line overlays, compare, frame by frame cueing, speed modulation, angle measurements, notes, etc Network Export Figure 27. Logo In order to share a file of interest with another PediGait IP user start by selecting the client of interest and open the file (see section 1.1). Once the client file has been accessed, single click the video of interest located in the right hand margin. Next, click the Export Capture button to generate a PEF or Pedi Export File. Once the operation is complete, you will be prompted to PediGait IP Users Manual 18

explore the directory where the files were dumped. Click Yes to access the folder. The files are now ready to be shared with other PediGait IP users. IMPORTANT: In order for other PediGait IP users to be able to import the generated PEF file, both the PEF file AND the directory with the same name must be sent or shared (see below). The PEF file contains the database entry for PediGait IP while the accompanying file folder contains all the videos necessary for the Import function to work. Figure 28. Import a PEF File You can import one or multiple captures for the same or different clients using the Import feature. Start by copying the PEF file and accompanying folder to your computer. Next, launch PediGait IP and open any client file (see section 1.1). Click the Import button to browse for the PEF file that was previously copied onto the computer. Choose all captures you want to import (use CTRL + Click for multiple selections) and press Open button of the Open dialogue box. If you import a capture for a new client, the clients' file will be created. PediGait IP Users Manual 19

Compare Tab We use the Compare function to compare 2 different views of the same client OR two views from two separate clients. Compare 2 Captures of the same Client To compare 2 captures of a client we need to open a client (see chapter. Open a Client File) and switch to Compare Tab. You can select 2 views to compare by checking them (Figure 29). Figure 29. Compare Tab Clicking the plus + sign all the views of the capture will be selectable. Check the two views of interest to load one on the top and one on the bottom. Using the cursor on the top and/or bottom, manually synchronize both videos. It is possible to fine tune the cursor position by clicking OUTSIDE of the video of interest and then moving the cursor by using the arrow keys. Once the videos are manually synchronized, click the Sync button to lock the two videos together for playback. Once synchronized the same playback tools and functions in the normal view can be used to study the videos. PediGait IP Users Manual 20

Compare two separate client videos We can also compare two videos from two separate clients (Figure 31). To do this, go to the Figure 30. One Client Compare Figure 31. Two Clients Compare Clients tab, select two clients using the multiple selection feature and click the Select button. This will open one client on top of the other in the Compare window (see Figure 31 above). Administration Tab Archive and Restore Database Figure 32. Administration Tab Use this function to back up all the PediGait IP information (clients' files, settings and captures). During this operation you must close PediGait IP to free the database connection, clients and captures. A prompt will appear and must be confirmed before allowing the process to continue. Select location for the file to be backed up and hit Archive to launch the process. PediGait IP Users Manual 21

Figure 33. Backup and Restore Dialogue You can choose a backup media and file name (Figure 33). Use the PediGait IP Archiver to restore the database and settings.
