This entry-level, rack-optimized enclosure features open system compatibility with UNIX, Linux and Windows operating system support, and offers the industry's lowest cost of entry. Because it's built with HP's commitment to developing dependable products and service, the HP StorageWorks Disk System 2110 ensures data integrity and manageability. The ds2110 has four hot pluggable slots, with individual disk capacities from 18 to 146 GB. The ds2110 capacity can exceed 500 GB with 146 GB drives. It also provides 160 MB/s transfer speed with U160 SCSI technology, all in a compact 1U package The disks and enclosure can be optionally already installed in racks for ease of integration. For "set-itand-forget-it" storage, your best choice is the ds2110. Product Highlights Mix and Match The ds2110 supports mixing of different capacities and co-existence of U320 and U160 disk mechanisms. While the ds2110 is only supported at U160 transfer rates, both U320 disks and HBAs support the ds2110 provided the HBA has been configured to operate a U160 speed. Hot Pluggable Hot pluggable technology is designed into the drive mechanisms. Hot pluggable components can be replaced without powering down the storage system or stopping I/O operations. This feature significantly enhances data availability. Capacity Up to 584 GB of storage can be provided in a 1U footprint using 4x146 GB disks Compatibility and Integration Testing Intensive compatibility and performance testing with HP severs ensures the highest level of integration available in the industry. Fault Tolerance The disk mechanisms are hot-pluggable. When used with a host-based high availability solution such as MirrorDisk/UX, the ds2110 can provide high availability.
