Information For The First Day In CPS 11 For Users Provider Preferred Schedule Views-We have attempted to set all provider schedules. Please call the Service Desk at 355-6531 if you need assistance with setting up any schedule views. Find Patient-the frequent patient list that usually displays the last 10 charts you accessed, is wiped clean on migration and you will have 0 patients listed the first time you log in. Printing is setup similar to how it was in CEMR 9.5. Double-clicking the Set Default Printer icon on the desktop and selecting a printer needs to be completed prior to log in to CPS 11. Sticky Button and Laboratory and Radiology showing as handouts-if a user doesn t uncheck the Record handout printing in Chart checkbox after printing a handout, it will cause all handouts to be listed as a separate handout in the patients document list, such as radiology, laboratory, CVS, Meaningful Use medication handouts, and other documents. After printing a handout, turn this off by unchecking the box before closing the Print Patient Education Handout form. Page 1 of 8

Refresh needed for the Prescription or Medication window-if the screen is only partially filled in, closing the Prescription form using the X then clicking on the current visit will cause the information to be refreshed when reopening the Prescription form for the visit. Page 2 of 8

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q: How do I set or change my preferences for Custom Lists like Medications and Problems? A: From the upper Menu Bar, click the Options button and select Preference, then the Preferences window will open. Select Patient Charts> then Custom Lists on the left and the options available show on the right. Select appropriate custom list from the dropdown. Q: Where do I find the options for Quick Text? A: From the upper Menu Bar, select Options then Preferences and the Preferences window will open. Select Patient Charts>Quick Text. The View Quick Text options appear on the right. Select personal use or global use for viewing. Q: How do I set my Preferred Schedule view? A: See pages 2-4 of the Scheduling workbook for details. The workbook is located at: http://www.hit.msu.edu/emr/course/cps_desktop_appt_and_sched_workbook.pdf Page 3 of 8

Q: What is a Chart Maintenance document? A: A Chart Maintenance document is automatically created when clinical lists are updated from the chart summary. It is created without selecting a new document/update. The document that is generated needs to be signed by a Provider like other documents in CPS 11. The document type Chart Maintenance is equivalent to Clinical List Update in CEMR9.5. Q: Can I access MQIC reports? A: MQIC reports are not available in CPS 11. Q: Why can t I see the preferred schedule I just selected in the schedule module? A: When you change your schedule view, you will have to click the X to close out of the schedule module, this returns you to the chart or your desktop. Clicking on the Scheduling navigation link returns you to the schedule module and refreshes the schedule view. You will also need to do this if you change your schedule view from the chart module. Please review the Scheduling workbook for further details located at: http://www.hit.msu.edu/emr/course/cps_desktop_appt_and_sched_workbook.pdf Q: Why can t I see the preferred schedule I just chose from my desktop view? A: The desktop needs to be refreshed (changed to a screen that contains new information) and this will not occur until after a complete log out from the desktop or chart and exit of CPS from the splash screen. Please review the Scheduling workbook for further details located at: http://www.hit.msu.edu/emr/course/cps_desktop_appt_and_sched_workbook.pdf Q: How do I search for Search for a Pharmacy when I only know part of the name? A: You can use the wildcard character % along with the word you think is contained in the pharmacy name. For example, %valley will return a list that contains all pharmacies with valley in the name. Q: How do I set my preferences for Out-of-Office? Page 4 of 8

A: From any view go to the Menu Bar and select Options>Preferences and the Preferences window will open. Select Desktop>Out of Office Assistant on the left and the options show on the right. Page 5 of 8

Tips 1. Documents for Edit icons- a. If a document says End -that means the document is in Progress. b. If a document says Edit -that means the document is On Hold c. * -indicates any document type that contains unsigned clinical list updates. This document may not appear first in the list and would use the scroll bar to locate the asterisk when it is not in view. 2. Loading icon-the icon stays in a running state when there is an OK button to push, until you push the OK button. 3. Multiple document views-you can have multiple documents and views open on your desktop at a time. These are indicated by the icons on your taskbar on your computer screen. Hovering over the icon will tell you what is minimized and selecting a document or view allows you to navigate between them. Watch this area to make sure you don t have more than one module or document open than you are aware of. 4. Location of Care (LOC)-is not displayed in alphabetical order and the view is truncated (cut-short) and may make it difficult for users to find their LOC. This cannot be adjusted. Page 6 of 8

5. Viewing Past and Future Appointments in CPS-you can continue to view patient appointment information from the appointment tab in registration. 6. Time-out of session-if a user exits CPS, but did not log off the desktop, the CPS login can be restarted by clicking on the refresh button in your browser on your desktop. 7. Starting in a module other than Chart. The default for all users in the HealthTeam is automatic start of the Chart module. 8. Contents of Custom Problem List-you can view the contents of your Custom list by placing your cursor in the Search for: field and then clicking the down arrow on your keyboard. Page 7 of 8

Issues and Miscellaneous Questions 1. Invalid characters-these characters cannot be used in login passwords, these include: Space ' `? " & < > 2. Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) the assessment is not committed until the Commit Assessment button is pushed AND the user navigates to another form by either using the Next Page or Previous Page buttons, or use the Navigation buttons included in the CCC forms at the bottom. Using the forms lineup to navigate to another form will cause the assessment to not be committed. This is a known issue. 3. Printing Schedules-schedules cannot be printed in CPS 11. The schedules could be printed in CEMR 9.5. If a user needs a printed schedule they need to get it from Centricity Business. 4. Multiple Login Error Message-similar to CEMR 9.5, when a user is logged into more than one machine or it may happen when a user is no longer in a session. The open session will count as a used license and prevent another user from being able to access the CPS in the event of all licenses being used. The user may see this message if they have multiple sessions open OR a session times out OR a user closed with the red X instead of Exit OR was kicked out of the session for another reason. A reboot will fix this or stopping the processes in Task Manager. Users should remember to only log in once. 5. Forms Lineup Navigation-If a user clicks a form in the lineup list and it did not open, double-clicking it may be necessary. Page 8 of 8
