Circular No 135/2017 Dated 5 July 2017 To Members of the Malaysian Bar Update on E-Courts Phase 2 Packages Available for Digital Certificate and Token We refer to Circular No 104/2017 dated 25 May 2017, Circular No 116/2017 dated 8 June 2017, and Circular No 121/2017 dated 16 June 2017, where we informed Members of the Bar that the e-court Phase 1 system is gradually being replaced by the e-court Phase 2 system, and provided updates to assist Members with the transition. The e-court Phase 2 system was launched at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex on 13 June 2017. (1) E-Filing Service Bureaus We have received numerous complaints regarding e-filing in recent weeks, which include concerns regarding the e-filing service bureaus, such as the high cost of scanning and filing services, the limited number of filings that are accepted per day, and the long queues. Please note that the Bar Council is following up with the Courts on these concerns. (2) Registration of E-Filing Account or Renewal of Existing Account In order to avoid any inconvenience relating to the use of the e-filing service bureaus, law firms are strongly encouraged to register for their own e-filing accounts, and to take advantage of the benefits offered by e-filing. To register for an e-filing account or to renew your existing token, and for further information, please refer to the Getting Started tab at http://efiling.kehakiman.gov.my/efiling/.
