Introduction V-Mail is a Value Added Solution for Sending and Receiving Email (Messaging) via Inmarsat Satellite through FMT MAT / SSAS Terminals (Orbcomm) and Inmarsat Fleet Broadband Terminals using Inmarsat Launch Pad. Attaching a computer with V-Mail installed, with COM Port FMT MAT and SSAS devices, enables a vessel to send and receive email messaging via Inmarsat satellite with Global Coverage. V-Mail can also be useful to send / receives emails and attachments using Inmarsat FleetBroadband OR GSM Internet. Software Installation Get the Latest V-Mail Software from www.falconmegatrack.com Step # 1: Double Click on a Setup File and then Click on Next. Note: Disable Anti-virus Installed in the Computer during the Installation of V-Mail Software. Step # 2: Read and Accept the License Terms and Condition then click on next to continue. 5
Step # 3: Click on Change to Change the Location of the Software, we recommend to Install in a drive that does not have operating system (windows); Normally Windows is install in C Drive; in that case install V-Mail in D Drive e.g. D:\VMail. If there is only one drive available in the computer, then install V-Mail at the root of C Drive i.e. C:\V-Mail. Step # 4: After Selecting the Drive click on Next to Continue. 6
Step # 5: Click on Install Step # 6: Click on Finish. 7
Customization of V-Mail Icon on Taskbar Step # 1: Press and hold or right-click any empty space on the taskbar, tap or click Settings, and then go to Notification Area. Step # 2: Under Notification Area Select V-Mail icons appear on the taskbar. Turn system V-Mail system icon ON. Step # 3: Observe the V-Mail Icon on task-bar 8
Use of V-Mail with FMT-MAT or FMT-SSAS Pre-Installation Check Computer with operating system Win XP, 7, 8 or Win 10. Other OS were not tested; and connected to Master Box or Slave Box using FMT COM Port Cable. If Computer does not have Built In COM Port DB9 Male, then get external USB to Serial DB9 Adapter Cable, with driver installed in computer; Note down your COM Port Number. Right Click at My Computer and then go to Properties, then go to Device Manager, Under Ports (COM & LPT) you will find your selected COM Port Number, for Example COM1, COM2 or any other number. We are using COM1 in this procedure. If you can not see COM number at this step, check the proper installation of driver of your USB to Serial Adapter or built-in Serial Adapter 9

Step # 1: Double Click on V-Mail Icon on desktop. Enter the User name and password, NOTE: The default User Name is admin and password is admin without quotation marks. Click on Login. Step # 2: Click on Yes to Create an Account. Step # 3: Go to IDP Email Setting and fill the required information. 12
Step # 4: After filling the required information click on save and then close the window.. Step # 5: Select comport and click on [Connect]. 13
Step # 6: Click on Address Book on main window and then click on Add Email Address to save the email addresses in the address book, click on Add and Save after filling the required information. Step # 7: To Send an Email; 1. Click on Compose 2. Create your message and click on Send 3. Click on Send / Receive Note: V-Mail, when using with FMT-MAT/SSAS, it must always be running and connected to FMT-MAT/SSAS to receive new emails, otherwise incoming emails will be in que in FMT-MAT/SSAS memory; and new emails will be rejected if memory of FMT-MAT/ SSAS is full, that cause the lost of emails forever. V-Mail has separate mail boxes to use with Internet or FleetBroadband, from FMT-MAT/SSAS mail boxes, and hence does not affect FMT-MAT/SSAS email operation. 14
Use of V-Mail with Inmarsat FleetBroadband Check List 1. Computer with operating system Win XP, 7, 8 or Win 10. Other OS were not tested; 2. Inmarsat Satellite Phone with Active Data Service. 3. Inmarsat Launch Pad Installed in Computer. Installation Procedure of Inmarsat Launch Pad Install Inmarsat Fleet Broad Band Launchpad in V-Mail PC, for more information please go through with the detail installation guide for the Inmarsat Fleet Broad Band Launch Pad. 1. First install the 1st Java.exe 2. Once Java installation is completed. 3. Second install the 2nd Launchpad.exe 4. Once Launchpad is installed. 5. Open Launchpad and select the Terminal as per on-board Sailor 150 Fleet Broad band. 6. Click on > Search. 7. Once CONNECT button highlights click on CONNECT. 8. Wait for some time till CONNECT button become DISCONNECT. This means that now your Data call has started and needs to be Disconnected after sending & receiving messages. 9. Minimize the Fleet Broadband Launchpad program. 10. Now reopen V-Mail which is kept minimized, Exchange your messages by pressing Send / Receive. 11. Once V-Mail message exchange is over click on DISCONNECT button on Inmarsat Fleet Broadband Launch Pad to disconnect the Date & Close the Inmarsat Launch Pad. 15
Step # 1: Double Click on Inmarsat Launch Pad and Search for the Installed Satellite Phone and wait a while until you can see signal strength. Step # 2: Click on Connect, Once Inmarsat Launch Pad is connected it will show Disconnect Sign, Then Minimize the window. Step # 3: Double Click on V-Mail file and Enter the User name and password, NOTE: The default User Name is admin and password is admin without quotation marks. Click on Login; 16
Step # 4: Click on Yes to Create an Account. Step # 5: Contact Falcon Mega Solution Authorized Distributor to Generate and Obtain Vessel Email Address and Password. Step # 6: After Filling the Required Information click on Save, a window will pop-up then click OK. 17
Step # 7: Not Activated Sign shall change to Activated then close the window. Step # : 8 To Send an Email; 1. Click on Compose 2. Create your message and click on Send 3. Click on Send / Receive 18
Step # 9: To Receive an Email; 1. Click on Download Headers 2. All the Incoming Emails will appear here 3. Click on Download All to download all incoming messages 4. Select the Important Email and download it while hold others emails. 5. Select the Non Relevant emails and delete it in case for any. Step # 10: To Close the V-Mail; Go to File then click on Sign Out, then click on cancel to close V-Mail 19
Step # 11: After successfully sending / receiving the emails the Inmarsat Launch Pad MUST be disconnected to avoid unnecessary data charges Click on Disconnect and Close the Inmarsat Launch Pad Use of V-Mail with Internet Devices V-Mail can be used with Terrestrial Internet connections e.g. Wi-Fi; WiMax; 2G, 3G, 4G Mobile Internet; EVDO, HSDPA; HSPA; LTE etc. to save expensive Satellite Data. Check List; 1. Computer should be connected with Internet. 2. Follow the procedure from Step 2 at Page 16 of this manual in order to use V-Mail. 20
Changing the Default Password Default Password is admin without quotation marks which can be easily change using below steps. Step # 1: Click on File then click on Change Password a new window will pop-up then type your new password and press the change button 21
Taking Backup of V-Mail It is recommended to take backup of V-Mail time to time which can be use in case if the vessel computer crashes and new V-Mail is installed in computer and the backup file can be useful to restore the old emails, address book etc in the V-Mail. Step # 1: Click on Task and select Backup Data Step # 2: New window will pop-up then click on Browse and create a folder in your desktop Backup V-Mail and click OK When message appears Back Up operation completed successfully! then close the window 22
Restoring V-Mail from System-backup In case vessel computer crashes and backup file of V-Mail is available, It can be restore in the V-Mail using below using below steps. Step # 1: After Installation of the V-Mail click on Task and select Restore Data Step # 2: Select the Backup Folder and Press OK 23
Filters V-Mail uses Filters to help you organise your messages into any categories that you choose. Filters do all the work that folders do, after creating filters you can see them under Inbox. Step # 1: To Create Filter; On Main window of the page, click on Filters. Step #2: Type the Name of your New Filter, Add the Email address and click on save Step # 3: Using Labels; 1. Using Labels, you can create sub folders with in your Inbox and organize your emails. 2. The Emails will remain in Inbox and can be seen in their designated folders 24
Un-Installing V-Mail V-Mail can be un-install from the computer using below steps. Step # 1: Go to Control Panel and then go to Program and Features, look for V-Mail icon then select and press un-install button Step # 2: New window will pop up then select Yes to un-install V-Mail 25
Users Admin can creates Standard Users and give them access to send / receive emails using their separate log in. Go to Users and create a New User, A detailed log is maintained in V-Mail to trace which email is sent by which user. 26
