In case you want to buy a different PC model, hereinafter you will find the minimum requirements that the PC has to have in order to be matched with Open Technologies' scanners. There are also other variables that can influence the PC-scanner compatibility (as USB, drivers, components, place of installation...); for this reason, a check at the purchase is strongly recommended. To grant the best scanner s performances, the Pc must be dedicated to the Scanner and the daily work; as installing other kinds of software could create serious compatibility problems and slow down the work system. Minimum Requirements for Open Technologies systems Recommended Systems Our Scanners need to be matched with a Computer with specific requirements. To simplify the choice, Open Technologies recommends two DELL reference systems: Dell XPS 8920 Desktop (with Intel i5) for for Easy and Smart Scanners Dell XPS 8920 Desktop (with Intel i7) for Deluxe, NeWay and Click Scanners, Minimum Requirements Operating System Windows 7 / 8 / 8,1 / 10 (64 bit) CPU Intel Quad Core or better Ram 8Gb Ram or better Minimum required video card * NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti or better* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or better * NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 or better* Suggested video card * NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 or better* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or better* *The Video Card has some important additional requirements: Only NVIDIA GeForce cards are supported by the system. The NVIDIA QUADRO series is not supported. The name scheme for the NVIDIA cards is complex (as you can see at this link:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_nvidia_graphics_processing_units ) In order to understand if a card is better than another, you need to check the 'Core Config' column of the table. A card with less than 300:40:30 cores is not supported. Particular attention has to be paid to the appendix of the card name: the GTX 560 Ti is good enough while the GTX 560M is not.
Scanner connection Different scanners' models have different connection requirements. Make sure to check here-below the necessary connections for your scanning system: USB 2.0 Scanner with 4 cables Scanning systems prior to 2015 can be connected through 4 cables: 2 USB 2.0 Ports that need to be connected directly to the Computer's motherboard (External Hubs are not supported). Every port needs to erogate at least 500mA 1 USB 2.0 or 3.0 Port 1 HDMI Port The USB 2.0 system is not 100% compatible with the USB 3.0 system. If this scanner model is connected to a USB 3.0 port, the system may freeze or not properly work. USB 3.0 Scanner with 2 cables All scanning systems produced from 2015 can be connected only through 2 cables: 1 USB 3.0 Port that needs to be connected directly to the Computer's motherboard. Only Intel C220 or Better and Rensas USB 3.0 are supported. Other USB chipsets could not properly work. 1 HDMI Port
