USER GUIDE for setting various operation systems to work with Internet through 123 access number I. Setting Windows 98 to work in Internet through 123 1. Creation of new connection 1.1. Open window " Network dial-up. For this click two times "My computer+" In the open window switch on the Dial-Up Networking 1.2. Click twice the "New connection. 1.3. Type 123 in the field Phone number. Press Next 1.4. You will be advised that the new connection is set up. Press Finish 1.5. In the window Network Dial up" a new icon "123" will appear. 2. Setting the connection parameters 2.1. Click the appeared icon "123" to emphasize it. Click with the right mouse button to call Options of the connection. The same can be done if you choose in the File the item Options 2.2. The window of the Connection Options will be open, remove the tick from "Use country code and city code": 2.3. II. Setting Windows NT 4.0 for work with Internet through 123 To access Internet through Windows NT you should install Service Pack 3 or later release packet. It is important because upon installation it will correct mistakes made by Microsoft when Windows NT was developed. 1 Network Setting Click with the right mouse button on Network Neighbourhood and in the appeared menu select Properties. Make note of Remote Access Service availability. If it unavailable, it should be installed. For this select Add. When installing Remote Access Service the window Add RAS Device will appear. The same window will appear if RAS service is available and you select it in the list and press the button Properties. In this window press Network. The window Network Configuration will appear. Tick off "2 TCP/IP" (See the Figure). Press "ОК". You come back to Add RAS Device... This time select "Configure The Configure Port Usage window will appear Set the parameter Outgoing calls only". In the window Network Dialup press Create The window Create Phonebook Note will be open On the General tag you should write down the following: "Name" name of the note in the Phonebook: for example 123 "Notes" Short description of connection (not mandatory) "Phone" Dial up phone: 123 "Use" - If you have one modem, it will be in this window; if you have several modems, you should indicate in this window the modem through which the connection shall be made. Now let s pass over to "Server" sheet... In the windowе "Type of Dial-up Server the "PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet is installed as a rule, if not, press the down arrow and select this type of server. You should keep only "TCP/IP" out of the three network protocols, and tick off at Allow programme data compression and Allow PPP LCP expansion Now press the TCP/IP... Setting, in the new window of PPP protocol for TCP/IP Setting bring everything in line with the Figure (remove the tick at IP titles compression), then press "ОК"... IV. Setting Windows ХР for Operation with Internet 1. Launch New Connection Wizard: through 123 2. In the new window press "Next". Another window will appear, you should indicate the network connection type. Indicate "Connect to the Internet": 3. 4. Indicate dial-up modem as the connection type: 5. In the appeared window write User name for the created connection and press "Next". 6. Another window will appear where you should indicate the phone number for the connection. Dial 123 and press "Next". 7. 8. After you press "Next" the last dialogue window will appear. Press "Finish" and creating of the new connection will be finished. Now the newly created connection settings should be made. For this click with the right mouse button on Properties: Pass over to "Networking" sheet, in the window "This connection uses..." tick off Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and press "Properties". In the appeared window, by pressing "Advanced...", you should make sure that "Use default gateway on remote network" is switched on, and "Use IP header compression" is switched off. V. Setting Windows ME for work with INTERNET through 123 1. Creation of new connection 1.1. Open Network Dial Up". For this click twice on My Computer Launch in the appeared window Dial-Up Networking. 1.2. Click twice on Make New Connection. The dialogue window will appear, write down in the field Type a name for the computer you are dialing a name, for example 123. Press Next. 1.3. In the field Telephone number type 123. Press Next. 1.4. You will be informed that the new connection has been set up. Press Finish. 1.5. In the window Dial-Up Networking the icon "123" will appear. Now you have to set the parameters of the newly created connection. 2. Setting the connection parameters 2.1. Click on "123" icon once to mark it out. Then click on it with the right mouse button to open Properties of the connection. 2.2. The window of Dialing Properties will be open, remove the mark from Use area code and Dialing Properties, then General: 2.3.
