Introduction Order Status and Results is a web application that allows ARUP clients to view patient charts and patient test results securely online. From the Search tab, you may view, download and print patient charts. From the Results tab, new test results for the previous 30 days are displayed. In this tab, you may view, download and print patient charts. From the Pending tab, you may view all pending orders. Note: The Order Status and Results tab(s) you have the ability to access/view are controlled by your ARUP Connect Administrator. Contact your ARUP Administrator for tab accessibility/viewing permission questions. 4

General Information ARUP Client List The ARUP Client List drop-down list shows all client IDs and names you are authorized for. Clients that are selected here are included in your results. To edit which clients are included in your results: 1. Click the ARUP Client List drop-down list. A list of Client ID and names is displayed. All client numbers are checked by default. 2. Activate/deactivate the check boxes to include/not include Client IDs in the search results. Search results are automatically updated. 3. Click or click outside of the field to exit the ARUP Client List dropdown list. Note: To uncheck all Client ID s click.. To check all Client ID s click Filter Use the Search field to narrow the results of any table in Order Status and Results. You may filter by any of the criteria displayed in the table. 5

1. Enter the filter criteria in the Search field. 2. Press Enter on your keyboard. The list will display only results containing the EXACT text that you entered in the field. Show Entries Use this field to specify the number of results per page shown on the screen. 1. Click the Show Entries drop-down menu. 2. Choose to show 5, 10, 20, or 50 entries per page. The results are automatically updated once you select an entry number. Sort Table Lists To sort any table, click on a column heading. Click the column heading once to click in ascending order. Click again to sort in descending order. The arrow indicates the column is sorted in ascending order. 6

The arrow indicates the column is sorted in descending order. Navigation Click on the page symbols at the bottom of the table to view more pages of results. Refresh Click to refresh the tab. View Click on the View drop-down list to view Manual Orders, which is the default view in the Results tab, or select Interface Orders if you are an Interface client. 7

Search Use the Search tab to search for a patient. To view a patient chart: 1. Select the client number(s) from the ARUP Client List. 2. Enter search criteria in the search fields. You must enter criteria in at least the Last Name or Patient Identifier field in order to search. If searching for an ARUP accession or client accession number, enter the full number in the Patient Identifier field and activate the Accession check box. 3. Click Search. The search results are displayed in the table at the bottom of the window. 4. Click the desired Patient Name in the search results table. The Patient History window opens. 5. Click the Standard or Enhanced link. 6. A PDF file of the chart opens in your default browser. See Download a Chart and Print a Chart for additional information. 8

Your search results list will only include records that match all of the search criteria that you have entered in the fields. Field ARUP Client List Last Name First Name Patient Identifier Accession Date of Birth Test Name/Number Collection Date Range Requirements Select at least one Client from the drop-down list. May be searched alone. Must include at least two characters. Enter the patient s last name. Must be entered with a Last Name. Enter the patient s first name. May be searched alone. Enter the full or partial patient ID number, ARUP medical record number, or visit number (FIN). You may also enter the full ARUP accession or client accession number if you activate the Accession check box. May be searched alone. Enter the full ARUP accession or client accession number in the Patient Identifier field, and activate the Accession check box. Select the date of birth from the drop-down calendar. Enter the full or partial valid test name or number, and select the test name that appears when you start typing. Enter a collection date range. Click after entering search criteria to start the search. You can press Enter to start the search. If you need to stop the search, press Esc. Once your results are finished downloading, the search results are displayed. If your record is not found, enter different criteria and search again. If too many records are found, enter more criteria and search again. Click to clear all the fields/check box and start a new search. 9

Search Results Search results are displayed in a table at the bottom of the tab. The patient search result information includes the Patient Name, Date of Birth, Gender, ARUP MRN / Client Patient ID, and Client ID. Patient History Click on a patient name to view the patient s history in the Patient History window. For more information on how to view, download, or print a chart see Accessing Charts. All tests ordered for a patient display here, including tests that have been canceled by ARUP or by the client. Click Close to close the Patient History window and return to the Search tab. 11

Results The Results tab displays new test results for the selected client(s). New results are available for 14 days on the Results tab, and if not viewed, are removed after 14 days. Once viewed, results are available in Viewed status for 14 days. Select at least one Client. Select to display results for accessions that have all tests completed. Select to display results for accessions that have complete and incomplete test results. 12

Select to display results for accessions that you have already viewed, downloaded, printed or faxed. Activate the check box in the column heading to download or print all of the New Results. Note: This check box will not work when is selected. Select to display results for Manual Orders or Interface Orders. By default, Manual Orders are displayed in the Results tab. Interface clients must select the Interface Orders option to view their orders. Note: Please contact ARUP Client Relation Training for access to Interface Orders. View Manual Orders or Interface Orders For instructions on how to view, download or print a chart see Accessing Charts. 13

Filter Results Users can filter results for Corrected charts, charts with Critical results, and Enhanced charts using the Search field on the Results tab. The filtering works for both Manual Orders and Interface Orders in Finals, Partials and Finals, and Viewed statuses. To view Corrected, Critical, or Enhanced results: 1. Select the Results tab. 2. Enter your search criteria (Corrected, Critical, or Enhanced) in the Search field. 3. Press Enter on your keyboard. The list will display results containing the text that you entered in the field. Note: Users can still filter any information that is displayed on the Results tab, even if entering partial text or a numeric. For example, typing "hep" in the Search field will return results for all orders that include "Hepatitis C" in the Test Number/Name column. 14

Pending Use the Pending tab to view pending tests for the selected client(s) for the last seven days. Select at least one Client. Date Range: to The default date range is 7 days. You may change the date range to search for the pending orders up to 90 days prior to today s date. Click to reset the date range to the default (7 days). Customizing your search results: 15

Accessing Charts There are three types of charts that you may view, download, print, or copy from Order Status and Results: standard charts (basic formatting), enhanced charts (color and graphic formatting), and plain text (text only) charts. Note: Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for viewing or printing charts. View a Chart Click the Standard link. Click the Enhanced link. Click the Plain Text link. Standard charts that have been corrected (updated from a previous result) will have a Corrected link instead of Standard. The Enhanced chart, if available, will also update when a Standard chart is corrected, however the link name does not change. Standard and Enhanced charts are synced. 17

When clicking on the Standard or Enhanced link, the PDF chart opens in your default browser. Standard charts include a direct access text link and a standard username/password login text link to view an Enhanced chart: Plain Text charts include the Copy to clipboard link at the top and the bottom of the chart, which allows a user to copy the chart and paste it to a selected location. Download Select this option to download multiple charts compiled into a.zip file. 1. Select one of more charts by activating the box next to the patient encounter. 2. Click Download at the bottom of the window. The File Download dialog opens. 3. Choose to open or save the file to your computer. Print Select this option to combine all selected charts into one PDF file for printing. 1. Select one of more charts by activating the box next to the patient encounter. 2. Next to the Print button, you can click the down-arrow to define how charts will print. You can select the Group by Accession radio button or the Group by Report Type (Standard together and Enhanced together). 3. Click Print at the bottom of the window. The File Download dialog opens. 18

Note: If you are printing many charts, it may take longer to compile the charts into one PDF. To stop the compilation, press Esc. 4. Click Open. 5. Print the PDF file. 19

Clinical Trials Clinical Trials users have the ability to view pending results, view final results, view results that have been viewed, and search for orders from a single Results tab. By default, Final results display when a user logs in. Clinical Trials users can: Download selected patient charts into a single.zip file, with all charts as individual PDF files. Print selected patient charts. View/save selected patient charts in a.csv file format. Searching for an Order To search for an order: 1. Select the Search option from the drop-down list. 2. Select the client number(s) from the drop-down list. 3. Enter the sample identifier criteria in the Sample Identifier field. You can search by last name and first name by separating them with a comma, for example: Smith, Jennifer. This field is optional. 4. Start typing the test name/number in the Test Name/Number field. You must select a test from the list that appears for this field to be included in the search. This field is optional. 5. Select the collection date range in the Collection Date Range fields. These fields are optional. 6. Click Search. The search results display in a table at the bottom of the window. 20

Search Results Search results are displayed in a table at the bottom of the window. The patient search result information includes the Sample ID, Date of Birth, Gender, ARUP MRN / Client Patient ID, and Client ID. Users have the ability to print or save the search results in.csv format from the Search Results screen. Printing or Saving Search Results To print or save search results: 1. Activate the check box(es) next to the result(s) that you want to print or save, or activate the check box in the header row to select all results. 2. Click the CSV button, and follow your browser s prompts to open or save the results. Viewing Search Results To view search results: 1. Click on the result you want to view in the Sample ID column. The Sample ID screen opens. 2. You can view, download, print, or export completed results into a.csv file. You can return back to the Search Results screen by clicking the Back to search results link. 21

Pending Results To view Pending results, click the drop-down menu and select Pending. Pending results are available for 90 days. 22

Final Results Final results display by default when accessing the Clinical Trials screen through OSR. Users may view, download, or print results from this screen. 23

Viewed Results To view Viewed results, click the drop-down menu and select Viewed. Users may view, download, or print results from this screen. 24

Notification Preferences To receive email notifications for Order Status and Results you will need to set this up under Notification Preferences. 1. Go to Account Administration > Notification Preferences. 2. Scroll down to Order Status and Results. 3. Activate the checkbox next to the notification you want to receive. 4. Use the drop-down menu to modify the frequency, if desired. 5. Click Save. 25

Visual Notifications Visual cues display in the Header and Menu items to alert you that new information is available. 26
