UMCNO COMMUNICATION PLAN UMCNO VOICE COMMUNICATION CODES AND TRAUMA ACTIVATIONS CISCO PHONE USE E- MAIL COMMUNICATION AT UMCNO DEPARTMENT PHONE LISTING UMCNO VOICE COMMUNICATION Internal: UMCNO has Cisco desk and wireless phones for use throughout the facility. To dial an internal extension, you will need to dial 2 plus the last 4 digit extension. External: To dial an external number on a Cisco phone, you will first need to dial 9 before dialing the number. On the red emergency phones, you just dial the number directly. Patient Rooms: Patient rooms have white analog phones. There are also blue interpreter phones available for use in patient rooms. You can dial an internal extension by dialing 2 plus the 4 digit extension. To dial an external number, you will first need to dial 9 before dialing the number. Personal Cell Phone Service There may be intermittent cell phone service interruption, particularly in the interior parts of UMCNO. We are working on a long- term solution to this issue. Methods for improving the use of personal cell phone communication Users are encouraged to use the WIFI network within the buildings to enhance functionality of their own personal mobile devices, if possible. Once connected to the WIFI network, e- mail and other applications on smart phones should function through WIFI. If you are on a Sprint or T- Mobile plan, WIFI calling and texted may be possible. CODES AND TRAUMA ACTIVATIONS For All Codes & Trauma Activations Dial Operator at 2-5000 or 702-5000 and state the following: Building (IPT, D&T, ACB) Department, if applicable Floor Tower (1, 2 or 3), if applicable Zone (ACB and Radiology only) Room number Your name Codes, rapid responses and trauma activations will be communicated first via overhead paging and then the Everbridge notification system to Cisco and Verizon Phones/Pagers by PBX Operators. Cisco Phones can only be utilized inside UMCNO Facility (D&T, ACB & IPT) Cisco and landlines use 2+5000 Cell phones dial 702-5000 Cisco phones cannot send or receive text message from cellular phones CISCO PHONE USE Cisco phones can be used inside UMCNO facilities only (D&T, ACB & IPT) Internal calls can be made with 5 digit dialing (2+four digit extension) To get an outside line, dial 9+ the seven digit number Cisco Phones cannot send or receive text messages from cellular phones. E- MAIL COMMUNICATION AT UMCNO Starting late Thursday, July 30, UMCNO will begin activating email accounts on LCMChealth.org for UMCNO employees. All of the emails, calendar information, contacts and notices in your current LSUHSC email system will be in place in the new LCMCHealth.org account. This will include access to the global address list. The new email address format will be: firstname.lastname@lcmchealth.org The email address will match each users new login credentials of: firstname.lastname. If there is a duplicate name, the login credentials will be firstname.lastname, firstname.lastname2, etc. LSU staff and residents will continue to use their LSU email accounts.
To access your email from MS Outlook once your mailbox is activated from within UMCNO, simply open Outlook for the first time after you have successfully logged onto the network using your LCMCHealth logon credentials. It will auto configure your Outlook program using your credentials. (screenshot and example). Employees will use their existing email passwords. Outlook Web Access: To access the web version LCMCHealth email from a remote computer, use the following link: https://outlook.lcmchealth.org/owa E- mail setup on mobile device: To access email from your mobile device, configure your mobile device for Exchange email. Type in your email address in the format of: firstname.lastname@lcmchealth.org and use your existing password. Instructions per device will be located on the UMCNO U Drive in the UMC Move Binder folder.
