Note: Output HDCP compliancy status depends on the input signal. When the input signal is HDCP compliant, then output signal will be HDCP compliant and vice versa.
Note: a) Pictures shown in this manual are for reference only. b) The HDMI signal contains both a video signal and embedded audio signal (PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-HD), whereas a DVI signal contains solely a video signal. c) The splitter is capable of switching input signal formats according to the displays. For example, when the input signal is HDMI and the display can only support DVI signal, the unit will switch the signal into DVI format. d) EDID management automatically manages the output signal (e.g. output resolution) to fit all displays.
3. System Connection 3.1 Usage Precautions TL-DA14-HD2 User Manual 1) System should be installed in a clean environment that has a proper temperature and humidity. 2) All of the power switches, plugs, sockets and power cords should be installed properly. 3) All devices should be connected before powering on the devices. 3.2 System Diagram The following diagram illustrates typical input and output connections that can be utilized with TL-DA14-HD2: DC 5V OUT 4 OUT 3 OUT 2 OUT 1 IN 3.3 Connection Procedures Step1. Connect an HDMI or DVI source device (e.g. DVD) to the HDMI INPUT socket of the TL-DA14-HD2 using a high-quality HDMI cable. Step2. Connect HDMI displays to the HDMI OUTPUT sockets of TL-DA14-HD2 with high-quality HDMI cables. Step3. Connect the DC 5V power adapter to the power port of TL-DA14-HD2. Note: All the ports support hot-plug. Please note that hot plugging a display may result in screen splashing at the output ends.
3.4 EDID Management TL-DA14-HD2 comprises of one HDMI input port and four HDMI output ports. EDID management helps distribute and route signals from the source at the resolution of the first detected display (detecting from output 1-4). For example: when output 1 connects with a 1080p display, the TL-DA14-HD2 will select 1080p as output resolution and distribute 1080p signal to displays connected to output 1-4. Note: If the displays connected to outputs 2-4 don t support a 1080p signal, the display will not show a signal.
