Importing Photos Select Frame Begin by selecting the frame immediately before the position where you want your imported photo(s) to appear. Click the Import Image or Movies button in the upper left-hand corner. Note: You can also use File -> Import instead of the Import Image or Movies button. Choose Photo A new menu will allow you to choose a photo from anywhere on your computer. Once you have chosen the file, click the Open button in the bottom right. Tip: You can import multiple photos at one time by holding down the shift key to select all in-between. Photo Appears in Timeline The window will close, and your photo will appear after the frame you selected. Tip: Remember that you can always reposition your photo by selecting it and dragging it to a different location. 40

Importing Videos Select Frame Begin by selecting the frame immediately before the position where you want your video to appear. Click the Import Image or Movies button in the upper left-hand corner. Note: You can also use File -> Import instead of the Import Image or Movies button. Choose Video A menu will pop up and allow you to choose a video from anywhere on your computer. Once you have chosen the file, click the Open button in the bottom right. Video Appears in Timeline The window will close. Your video will import as a clip. It will appear after the frame you selected. If there is audio with the video, it will appear in the audio track below your imported video clip. Note: The larger the video, the longer it will take for it to process and import, so be patient. 41

Clip to Frames All videos are comprised of different frames and sections. You can break up the clip using the Clip to Frames button in the Manage Timeline tab. Select Individual Frames You can now select individual frames, move them, and edit them as you wish. 42

Recording Audio SAM Animation makes recording audio easy. All you need is a microphone, which many computers already have built in. If yours does not, any USB microphone will work. SAM gives you two tracks for audio, so you can record background and narrative separately. Select Record Begin by selecting the frame here you want the audio recording to start at. Click the Record Audio button. Start Recording The Recording bar will turn red, to indicate that you are recording. Stop Recording To stop recording simply press the Record Audio button again. 43

Audio Will Appear in Track Your recorded audio will appear in the track below your frames. Note: Audio clips can overlap, so if you already have an audio clip in the first track, they will overlap. This can make it easy to lose your clip, so try keeping them in separate tracks. Cut Audio Cutting the length of your audio is easy. Simply place your cursor at the end or beginning of the track. Your cursor will turn into the shape pictured left. Click and drag your cursor to cut the track. 44

Importing Audio Import Audio Begin by selecting the frame where you want the music to start playing. Click the Import Audio button. Note: File -> Import can be used for videos and photos only. You must use the Add Audio tab to import audio into your animation. Select Audio File A menu will pop up and allow you to choose an audio file from anywhere on your computer. Once you have chosen the file, click the Import Audio File button in the bottom right. Audio Will Appear in Track The window will close, and your audio will appear in the track below your frames. Note: Audio clips can overlap, so if you already have an audio clip in the first track, they will overlap. This can make it easy to lose your clip, so try keeping them in separate tracks.
