I. Workstation Minimum Requirements a. Hardware Pentium 600MHz 256 MB RAM 500 MB hard disk space Video Card 1. Must have at least 32 MB of onboard video RAM 2. Be able to perform at a minimum of 1024 x 768 resolution at 16 bit color depth b. Software Prior to configuring and installing any software, make sure you have local administrative rights to the workstation before attempting anything. Primavera Expedition 8.5 must be installed before InfoMaker 7.0 in order to initiate the Sybase Adaptive Server connectivity via ODBC as well as install reports and forms (PBL files) needed for training purposes. Browse to the first CD of Expedition 8.5 and run <setup.exe>. Once you enter the main setup menu, select Install Expedition Applications Technology for Managing Projects Page: 1 of 11

When prompted for type of database server, select Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere Insert Serial Number floppy disk to continue installation. Select Local for initial database connection. Technology for Managing Projects Page: 3 of 11
Use the default installation paths for all Destination Folders. Click Next all the way through until you re prompted to insert the second CD Click on Finish to conclude the installation of Expedition 8.5 Technology for Managing Projects Page: 4 of 11
When prompted to reboot your workstation make sure you do in order for Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere to function correctly. After rebooting, launch Expedition 8.5 and login to the local EXPWIN database. By doing so, the ODBC connections will automatically be created. Use the following login information: 1. User Name: EXP 2. Password: exp Exit out of Expedition 8.5 and insert CD1 of Expedition s installation disks. Technology for Managing Projects Page: 5 of 11
Select Install Other Applications at the main menu Select InfoMaker 7.0 Technology for Managing Projects Page: 6 of 11
Leave all Destination Folder locations to default and click Next Select Typical for the setup type Technology for Managing Projects Page: 7 of 11
Leave Program Folder location as default and click Next to proceed to the installation phase Click on Finish to complete installation After completing the InfoMaker 7.0 installation, exit out of Expedition s setup menu and launch InfoMaker 7.0 from the Start Menu under the Sybase SQL Anywhere 7 program group. Within InfoMaker, click on File and then Select Library Select the Browse tab and find the Forms and Reports location stored within the Expedition 8.5 installation folder. (Default location is C:\Program Files\Primavera\Expedition\Forms) Select any PBL file and click on OK Technology for Managing Projects Page: 9 of 11
When you return to the main InfoMaker window, select File and Open. Then the following window should appear with a list of objects to select. Select any object within that library and click OK to open it test whether the ODBC connection was successfully established. II. III. The big NO s for an InfoMaker 7.0 Training Environment NO personal firewall (i.e. ZoneAlarm, McAfee Security Center) NO Spyware or Adware 1. Spyware and Adware is unpredictable and unique in how it effects Internet Explorer and other desktop applications, it is recommended to run a Spyware remover software such as: - Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/) or - Ad-aware (www.lavasoftusa.com) - These are available for download at no charge Firewall and Bandwidth Requirement All students must have local administrative rights to their training workstation while using InfoMaker 7.0 in order to perform tasks that require them to save files to the local hard disk.
