Introduction 3 Overview Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert is a forensic program that allows to extract data from the mobile call data records and present them in a readable format. Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert enables to import data from the following records: Mobile Call Details Mobile Text Records Mobile Data Records Extracted data is saved in a readable format to PC folder indicated by a forensic expert. The software works under 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. All other trademarks are owned by their respective companies. 3 Data extraction Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert helps to present all information available from the mobile call data records in a few mouse clicks. 3.1 Call Data Records When Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert is launched, the main screen will look like the following screenshot:
4 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert From this window, previously created templates can be selected, or a new template can be created, for further call data presentation. Each field can be selected from this window, and will have different options for call data records presentation. 3.1.1 File import To import the call data records, you should navigate to the appropriate records file after the initial launch of the software and click Next.

6 3.1.2 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert Field Mapping To map the fields in the program, you should first select the fields of interest and that are available in the records file. To select the fields, simply double click on the field of interest. This will move the fields of interest into the upper field, next to the Home button. Then, select each field from the list next to the Home button. This windows shows the results and conditions for the specified field.
Data extraction 7 Drag and drop the column from the source file presented below, into the Select results box. The same can be accomplished by clicking on the Select Result box and selected the column title from the drop down list.
8 3.1.3 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert Conditions To assign conditions for the fields, select the field of interest from the list next to the Home button. This windows shows the assigned results and conditions for the specified field.
Data extraction 9 Click on any condition box. The Functions window will pop up, where various conditions could be selected. After the desired condition is selected, the condition boxes will appear that can be filled accordingly.
10 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert Conditions can be selected by clicking on each. A list of possible values will be presented extracted from the column titles. Custom values can also be specified, as well as other functions.
Data extraction 3.1.4 11 Results After all fields have been selected and assigned, the data can be imported for further analysis. Click the Import button on the bottom right of the window to import the results for further analysis. If you haven't already saved the template you just created, you will be asked to save it before moving on with the results. Provide a new name for the template and click Import on the bottom right of the window.
12 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert The results will be provided in an easy to read format, and include only the information that was requested by the user. The results can also be exported into an Microsoft Office Open XML Format Spreadsheet file (.xlsx)
Data extraction 13 by clicking on the Export button on the top left corner of the window. 3.1.5 Statistics The communication statistics window will provide information taken from the call data records, by presenting them in a readable format. Unique callers pane will provide the quick glance on the total number of callers and the total number of connections with other callers for each number found in the records. All results can be filtered by specifying certain criteria. The results are then filtered and highlighted.
14 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert The information pane provides the information for the selected event. The lower bar includes information on the file that is being analysed, information on the total and filtered communications and callers, and the amount of selected records. A visual representation of the connections can be viewed by selecting the Direct Links tab and enabling the view for the number of interest.
Data extraction Indirect links can be displayed in a visual graph by selecting the Indirect Links button. The displayed graph can be easily exported as a picture by clicking the Save as picture button. 15
16 Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert The information pane provides the top active contacts for the selected phone number. The results can also be exported into an Microsoft Office Open XML Format Spreadsheet file (.xlsx) by clicking on the Export button on the top left corner of the window. All filters can be reset by clicking the Reset filters button that is located on the top left corner of the window. 4 Settings Settings overview This section describes some of the features that allows the forensic expert to customize Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert 4.1 Languages The Languages setting in Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert allows the forensic expert to adjust the language of the software tool. Once the language is switched, Oxygen Forensic Call Data Expert needs to be restarted in order to apply the language setting changes.
