Continuously rotating Pan and 100o Tilt Thermal Imaging Camera (option) On-board Peripherals:USB RS232 I2C SPI GPIO Laser Pointer 36x Optical Zoom / 12x Digital Zoom SONY Camera Front & Rear Drive Camera Stereo mic Sonar range sensor WiFi 802.11n Infrared and White LED Illumination > 1.5 hours continuous usage >30mm Ground Clearance, with Independent Suspension 720MHz Cortex Processor running Linux O/S 4 Wheel Drive 4 Wheel Steer Temperature / Humidity Sensor, Digital Compass 32GB Internal Storage
:- CHASSIS ALL WHEEL DRIVE ALL WHEEL STEER With a turning circle less than 800mm, the UBII2 is far superior to that of any rover in it s class. This is made possible by the unique AWD/AWS drive mechanism. <800mm With all-wheel independent suspension and a 30-35mm ground clearance, the UBII2 is capable of crossing virtually all boundaries within a single level environment. The entire chassis is CNC machined from Aluminium, to give exceptional strength and light-weight >30mm All metal geared drive-train, using high precision Swiss made motors and gearheads
:- PAN, TILT & ZOOM (PTZ) The PTZ unit on Ubii2 has a continuously rotating operation and a tilt range of -10o below horizon to 90o vertical o 360 Continuous rotation o 100 Tilt The PTZ is fitted with a SONY camera as standard, which has a 36x optical zoom / 12x digital zoom and low light capability. There is IR and white LED illumination, which has 127 position variable adjustment. 36x Optical Zoom Thermal Imaging As an optional extra, the PTZ unit can be fitted with a Thermal-Eye 4500 AS Thermal imaging camera. The thermal imaging camera can be used as the navigation camera, thus not requiring any illumination. This camera allows the user to detect the presence of electrical heat sources and personnel.
:- PAN, TILT & ZOOM (PTZ) (cont d) Ubii2 PTZ unit comes complete with a high quality SONY stereo microphone. This microphone gives the user total feedback as to the direction of incoming sounds. The microphone appears integral to the PTZ head, but it can be easily removed and another style of microphone can be plugged in for greater flexibility. At the center of the Ubii2 PTZ is a sonar range finder that will give the accurate range of an object up to 6.45m at a resolution of 25mm. A 680nm 3mw red dot laser is fitted as standard. This useful peripheral is a great device for showing personnel a target. A useful light sensor is fitted so that ambient light can be measured, it can also be implemented to adjust the LED illumination according to the environment. Ubii2 PTZ unit is fitted with a home position. Once enabled the PTZ will move back the it s home position, which is horizontal and pointing forward in the same direction as the DriveCamFront.
:- CONTROL Ubii2 has a extremely unique method of control for navigating the rover. There are three cameras on the unit :- DriveCamFront, DriveCamRear, PTZCam. With an optional fourth camera being the Thermal Imager (if fitted).. All of these cameras can be used as navigation cameras. The controls used to navigate through the DriveCamFront, and DriveCamRear, automatically swap direction dependent on the camera being viewed through. For example, if the user is navigating through DriveCamFront and the lighting is on, then pushing forward on the controller will move the Ubii2 forward. FORWARD If the user were to then switch to DriveCamRear, then the view would be through the rear camera and the rear lighting would be illuminated. All the controls would be reversed automatically, as such pushing forward on the controller would move Ubii2 forward in respect to the DriveCamRear view. Likewise, the left and right controls reverse. FORWARD If the user were to then switch to either the PTZCam or TICam, the controls then revert back to the same style if looking out of the DriveCamFront, except the lighting on the PTZ would illuminate if PTZCam were selected.
:- CONTROL (cont d) Ubii2 has two modes for speed control. These are Stealth Mode and Runaway Mode. Stealth Mode, allows the user to crawl around at slow speed without fear of accidentally moving too fast and colliding with objects. Whereas, Runaway Mode, does exactly what it implies...it allows the user to move the rover at a faster speed. Both modes are variable over their range, thus giving greater control. PTZ Control The PTZ or Drive mode is toggled between, using one button. Once Ubii2 is in the PTZ Mode, the two joysticks are used to control the pan and tilt functions. Illumination Ubii2 is fitted with infrared and white LED illumination. IR and white is fitted on the front, rear and on the PTZ unit. Both types of illumination are fully adjustable over 127 incremental positions and can also be turned on and off at the touch of a button. INFRARED LED WHITE LED
:- CONTROL (cont d) With the standard package, Ubii2 comes with a control GUI software that will work on most operating systems. It comes with a WiFi router and wireless hand controller. As an optional extra, a handheld control unit is availiable. This device is based around the standard contoller, but incorporates an ultra small PC with built-in WiFi. :- COMMUNICATION Ubii2 video, audio and telemetry is all performed over a WiFi connection. Ubii2 is installed with a WiFi 802.11n wireless network adapter and the handheld controller or PC access this via an access point. 802.11n upto 200m line-of-sight WiFi repeaters are also available to extend the range of the wireless access. These are battery powered. upto 200m line-of-sight upto 200m line-of-sight
