Page 2 Welcome to MAPCITE Plug In for Microsoft Dynamics This Installation Guide is designed to cover the basic installation of the MAPCITE Plug In for Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. Pre-requisites You will require the following, in order to install the MAPCITE Plug In for Dynamics: Bing Maps plug in The zipfile containing the MAPCITE Plug In Sufficient administration permissions to import the Solution. Importing the Solution The menu options to import the Solution can be found at: Settings > Customisation > Solutions Step 1 Select the Solutions option Step 2 Select the Import option Step 3 The system will present you with a dialog box. Select Choose File to browse to the Solution file and select it.
Page 3 Step 4 The Solution file will be imported and shown as here on the right. Any errors will be highlighted. If you wish to see the Solution details select View Solution Package Details Select Next to continue The Solution Package Detail will be presented in a panel. Press close to close the window. Step 5 On selecting Next, the solution will import, showing you the details as shown. If you wish to see the log file for the import, select Download Log File Select next to continue. When complete, the system will display the list of solutions. This should contain the new MAPCITE Solution as shown here.
Page 4 Adding the Dashboard Having imported the Solution, we now need to add the Dashboard. Step 6 From the Settings Menu, select Customisations Then select Dashboards Select New Dashboard Step 7 You will have a choice of layouts but the MAPCITE Plug-In will work best if it has the full screen. Select the 3 column regular dashboard and select Create
Page 5 Add a Title Select the middle and right hand section of the dashboard and delete Do the same for the three sections underneath Then select the left hand section of the dashboard and use the Increase Width and Increase Height menu options to expand into the sections you have just deleted
Page 6 Step 8 We now need to add a web resource by selecting the Web Resource icon In the web resource field, select mapcite_mapcitemap.html You will need to give the resource a name and label. You can decide whether you wish the label to be visible on the Dashboard. We would suggest that this is unnecessary and reduces the visible area for the map. When complete, select OK. Then select Save and Close in the Dashboard menu.
Page 7 Publishing the Dashboard The final installation step is to publish the Dashboard Step 9 You should still be in the Settings Menu > Customisations > Dashboards Select the tick box alongside the MAPCITE dashboard followed by the publish icon (not the Publish All Customisations icon). This will give you a message indicating that it is publishing. Finish by selecting Save and Close Verify the Dashboard is operational by selecting Workplace > Dashboards > MAPCITE Dashboard. Successful installation should result in a screen similar to the image below. If this does not work first time, you may need to log out and login back in again.
