Drill Around A common request of both and Explorer users is the ability to be on an object and drill around to another related object for more information. This new capability effectively links objects together, allowing you to navigate from one view to another in a single mouse click. For example, suppose you are on the phone with a customer and are looking at their customer information in AnyView Browser or Explorer, and then want to know the status of their orders. You could Drill Around to another object, such as the Sales Transactions object, for a list of their orders and get the information you need. The Drill Around functionality will be available from the Go To menu with and from the
Explorer Go To menu. Defining a new Drill Around is a feature that is included in ; however, they can be used in both and Explorer. Detail Views We know from experience that many customers use Explorer as a navigation tool within their business management data, and now they can use as well. Many users will pull up a list of important information and say, now I want to know even more. The new Go To Menu will support the new Drill Around and Detail View features. With the new Detail Views, additional business management information is available in many key areas, even over the Internet. For example, while using AnyView remotely, say you have pulled up the results of a view that lists the sales for the week in the Sales Transactions object that ships with Explorer. You would like to drill down on a particular invoice and see more information about that invoice, similar to a paper version of the document. With the Sales Transaction Detail View that ships with, detailed sales order processing data is just a click away. Detail Views will initially be provided for: Accounts, Customers, Items, Purchase Orders, Prospects, Sales Order Processing Documents, and Vendors. Partners and Customers will also be able to customize Detail Views to meet the needs of the end customer. Import/Export Improved Now when you Import or Export an object from, you will be able to keep all of the properties associated with the object, such as: data types, prompts, drop down lists, formats and go to windows. Modifying an Object Improved When modifying an object, favorites will be maintained whenever possible and security will always be maintained.
