FLX UC 1000/1500 Registering with Shoretel ShoreGear Date: February 14, 2017 This technical note gives a detailed description on how to register a Revolabs FLX UC 1000/1500 IP & USB conference phone with a ShoreTel PBX manually. The FLX UC 1000/1500 can also be configured using a provisioning server through Option 66. To perform the tasks described in this document, the user needs to have administrative rights on the ShoreTel Director. While the steps in this document are not difficult, we recommend that a trained ShoreTel PBX administrator perform these tasks. Shoretel Setup Launch ShoreTel Director, configure SIP proxy and user in ShoreTel PBX: Configure SIP proxy Through edit Site page, configure SIP proxy virtual IP address and select voice switch appliance: 1. Navigate to Administration -> Sites, the sites page opens 2. Click the name of the site to edit, the edit site page opens 3. Locate SIP Proxy section 4. In Virtual IP Address, enter Registrar s IP address 5. In Proxy Switch 1, select ShoreGear appliance 6. Make sure the Revolabs phone IP address is included in the IP Address Map Revision 1.0 1 P a g e

Allocating switch resource Port needs to be configured for SIP Proxy Port Allocation, complete following steps to allocate SIP proxy port: 1. In ShoreTel Director, navigate to Administration > Platform Hardware > Voice Switches / Service Appliances > Primay 2. In the port section of the page, access the drop down menu of a port 3. Create a User Extension User credential needs to be defined on ShoreTel Director, complete following steps to create new user with SIP username and password: 1. Navigate to Administration > Users > Individual Users, Individual Users page open 2. In Add new user at site, select the site to add new user and click button Go, edit user page open 3. Select General tab 4. Enter the first name, last name of the user, according to your naming convention. In the number field specify the extension you want to assign to the FLX unit. 5. Set the License Type to Extension Only. You will get a warning message once you make this selection letting you know that this is a SIP Extension. Click OK. 6. For Access License select Personal. You can leave the Caller ID field blank, or set it with the information you want to send to the network on outgoing calls. 7. Select a DID range and a DID if you wish to have the FLX receive calls directly from the PSTN. Select None in the PSTN Failover field. 8. Finally, add the FLX to a User Group that will allow it to access outside lines and the Conference Bridge resources. 9. Select the appropriate site where the FLX is being added, select the Language, and set the Primary Phone Port to IP Phones, and select Any IP Phone 10. Skip the Voicemail area of the setup other than checking the System Directory, which is optional 11. Finally, set the Client User ID to the user name you want to use according to your naming convention, in our sample it is FLX001. Select the Client Password, the Client Mailbox Password, and the SIP Password according to your standard password convention 12. The Email Address for the user is optional 13. Registering the FLX UC 1000/1500 with the ShoreTel ShoreGear Please use the FLX UC 1000/1500 Web UI to register the FLX UC 1000/1500 with the ShoreTel ShoreGear. 1. IP address of the FLX UC 1000/1500 a. If you are using DHCP in your environment, the FLX UC 1000/1500 automatically receives an IP address. From the FLX UC 1000/1500 Dialer, press Menu and Info. The IP address (static or via DHCP) of your FLX UC 1000/1500 is shown. b. If you are using a static IP address, on the FLX UC 1000/1500 dialer, press Menu and Settings, choose Admin Settings, enter the administrator password (default password is 7386 ), enter IPv4 Settings. Uncheck Enable DHCP. In this menu you can enter the IP address, Subnet Mask, and other relevant information. Once you have entered all information, select Apply. This will register your phone with the new network settings. 6 P a g e
2. In a web browser of your choice, enter the IP address of the FLX UC 1000/1500. This will open the web interface for FLX UC 1000/1500. Enter the administrator password (default password is 7386 ). 7 P a g e
4. On the top of the screen select the Gears icon for Settings, and then select the SIP sub-header. The following screen will show: 8 P a g e
5. Enter the registration info for your ShoreTel ShoreGear: a. Registrar The IP address of the ShoreGear SIP proxy s virtual IP address ( or switch IP address if virtual IP address is not defined) b. User ID The Client Username at ShoreGear Individual user page c. Username The Client Username at ShoreGear Individual user page d. Password The SIP password at ShoreGear Individual User page e. Check off option Enable SIP traversal behind symmetric NAT 6. Press Submit. 9 P a g e
7. Now select the Transport Sub-header. For the TCP/UDP, select the transport protocol you are using. 8. Press Submit. If registration is successful, the dialer will show the user ID at the top of the home screen. If there is a registration failure, the dialer will show that the phone is not registered. Please verify that the user ID and password are the same as the ones specified when configuring the ShoreTel ShoreGear. Also, in the ShoreGear confirm that the device was correctly set up and associated with the user. 10 P a g e
