About the Program intro Threats emanating from fraud or other unethical activities have attracted and continue to demand increased attention from the leaders of organizations, investors, regulators and a host of other stakeholders. Hence, there is an increased need for professionals versed in the prevention, detection and investigation of those threats. Possessing the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential provides a competitive advantage compared to non-certified individuals. CFEs perform a variety of activities including forensic accounting, audit, consulting, and fraud and security investigations. They examine allegations of fraud, recommend anti-fraud controls, assist in the resolution of financial disputes or the valuation of assets, and are expert witnesses in financial investigations. Organizations employing CFEs within their governance, risk management and control structures can reduce the impact and lifetime of frauds by half (Source: 2014 Report to the Nations). The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the world s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with more than 70,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud worldwide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession. Members of the ACFE include auditors, CPAs and investigators; national, state and local law enforcement officers, prosecutors, security professionals, and risk and loss managers. Exam Format and Times The on-site exam is only for course attendees and will be administered in written form. The on-site exam follows the same format as the electronic exam: 125 questions per section. You will read the questions and mark your answers on a Scantron answer sheet. An ACFE staff member will grade the tests on-site, providing your results for each section within a few minutes. During these times, attendees may also take or retake other sections of the exam as needed. Taking the exam on-site is optional; attendees may sit for the exam after the conclusion of the program. However, participants may take the online exam at any time. Retaking Sections If you fail a section of the exam, you may retake it either on your own computer or on-site during any of the times listed above. There is no charge for retaking sections. You will only need to retake those sections that you do not pass. Passing Exam If you pass all four sections, you will receive a personalized letter confirming your achievement. Passing the exam does not mean that you are certified or eligible to use the CFE credential until your CFE exam application has been submitted and approved by the ACFE certification team. Upon certification, your certificate would be mailed within two to three weeks. Registration Once you register by filling the attached registration form, you will receive an email communication from the ACFE giving you access to study materials and providing you with steps to apply for the CFE Exam. The deadline for registration is October 4, 2014. CFE Exam Review Course
