See Appendix B: Fast Start, 11. DNC and 12. Start/Cancel/Pause. Vision Menu Options and Descriptions

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 18 Set Parameter 179 allows the operator to enter the type of system at the initial setup. Operators may enter 100, 101, or 102 at the prompt based on the configuration of the camera. Parameter 179 should be set to the following: a. 100 camera on a slider without an up sensor b. 101 camera on a slider with an up sensor c. 102 camera not on a slider Focus Camera Sets a Z height value of the focused fiducial compared to the tools. If ATC machine, then the controller automatically readjusts the Z height value for the different calibrated tool lengths after each surface. Suggest Focus Camera after any new tool Calibration. If Standard machine, then must surface tool and focus the camera after each surface. Auto Find Setting specifies the distance that the system will scan for the fiducial before prompting the operator to Jog to the proper location if the fiducial is out of range. Manual Find Setting can be utilized once the Auto Find Setting has been disabled. Operators can enter 0 under Auto Find Setting before selecting Manual Find Setting and then select to Jog the tool to the fiducial or Jog the camera to the fiducial. Operators can press Enter once the tool bit or the camera is directly above the fiducial. Correlation Value This values works in conjunction with the Vision Tools displayed Match value after capturing a fiducial. The Match value are typically in the range of 0.2 to 0.3. Suggest setting correlation value slightly higher than the Match value. (e.g. 0.4) This function can be utilized if the material to be cut has a fuzzy or indistinct fiducial and the camera is unable to capture a clear image. If the correlation value is too low or too high, it will be rejected. Retake Distance allows the operator to improve the accuracy of the picture. The system will calculate how far away the fiducial is when a picture is taken. If that distance is greater than the retake distance, the camera will center the fiducial and take another picture. Operators should select a small distance (e.g., 0.002) to get the best results in the Fiducial Check function. Set Camera Scale is used to calibrate the camera scale. The operator specifies a distance to which the machine will move, take a picture, move back, take a picture, calculate the scale, and save the camera scale. The camera scale can be set at the initial setup and then will default to 1000. Set Camera Offsets allows the operator to set the camera offsets based on the center of the spindle and the center of the camera by drilling a hole with a Cut Depth entered in the Params 2D menu. The system prompts the operator to Jog over until the fiducial is close to the center of the PC screen. The location does not have to be exact. Settling Delay allows the operator to specify how long the system must wait before reading the fiducial. This is helpful in case the camera is shaking after slewing into position. Most systems work best with 20 ms. Fiducial Diameter allows the operator to inform the system as to the size of the fiducial when the system is searching. This diameter can be set up in either millimeters or inches. Move to Cam Offsets is mainly used as a verification tool to fine adjust the camera offset values.

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 19 Fiducial Check allows the operator to determine how far out of square the machine is. Once the fiducials are found, the system calculates the X,Y Offset and Rotation values. Based on these values, the system can relocate the fiducials and display them in MotionMechanic, showing how far off the fiducials are in the X- and Y-axes. Once the fiducials are relocated, the display will prompt the operator about aborting the job. Connection Test will test the communication between the controller and the PC via the VisionTool4 or MultiVision and JobServer applications. Slider Test will test the slider to make sure it is working properly by moving the camera along the Z-axis. This menu item will only be available on machines with Parameter 179 set to 101.

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 20 Appendix A: Creating Vision Job File in EnRoute 1. Create 3 round, filled fiducials as dark circles about 1/4 diameter on a white or light background on the Adobe Illustrator job file to be cut. (shown actual size) For colored or patterned backgrounds, operators should prepare a 3/4 white square with the fiducial in the center. 2. Position the fiducials in these approximate locations: a. First at or near 0,0 b. Second at or near 0,Y max c. Third at or near X max,0 Operator must have 3 fiducials per sheet. The placement of the fiducial does not need to be exact. Operator may have 3 fiducials per cut out image. 3. Import the job file in EnRoute. If importing Adobe Illustrator file, then strongly suggest saving file version down to V3.

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 21 4. Rotate the image so that the ab side of the image is at the left or along the Y-axis. Not all images will need to be rotated, so the operator may skip this step if the image has a longer ab side than ac side. 5. Remove the detail on the inside of the images to show the die line only and select Automatic Cleanup (HPGL files excluded) to reduce the total number of contour points. This will provide MultiVision a smoother cut and better edge quality. 6. Create a tool entitled Vision by selecting Setup/Tool Library/Create a New Tool. 7. Select Drill or End Mill for the tool and select OK. 8. Select Save. No parameters need to be changed on this screen. Select Save for Tool Library changes and exit the screen.

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 22 9. Whether ATC or Standard Machine, Operator will have to modify Enroute s MultiCam Driver to have 99 tools. Setup>>Machine Setup>>Tool Changer Assign the Vision Tool to location #99. 10. Highlight all Fiducials and select Toolpath>>Drill>>Drill Centers. 11. Select Vision Tool, enter 0.1 as the depth, and select OK. Enroute requires a depth. No cutting parameters (e.g., Feedrate or Spindle Speed) need to be set at this time. 12. Highlight all the contours. 13. Select Toolpath/Routing Offset and select the appropriate tool (e.g., 1/4 End Mill). 14. Set cutting parameters and select OK.

Innovation. Quality. Performance. Best in Industry. Worldwide. 23 15. Select Machining/Order. The Vision Tool must be first. However, the order of the fiducials is not important. 16. Select Machining/Output to begin the cutting sequence. 17. Select File to name the document and save it in the DNC Files folder.
