Introduction Kony Engagement Services provides a generic notification service that allows you to send push notifications/sms/email and passes to multiple platforms (for example, iphone, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows). You can use the engagement services single interface, without worrying about the requirements for individual platforms (for example, formatting, status query, and retry on failure). 2013 by Kony, Inc. 3. Prerequisites Engagement Services 3. Prerequisites Prerequisites for installing the Engagement Services Database for SQL Server: 1. Only a qualified SQL Server Database administrator (DBA) must handle the SQL Server Database setup to successfully complete the Engagement Services database deployment. 2. SQL Server software must be installed and basic database already have been created to continue with Engagement Services database schema setup. 3. Database collation needs to be set for a database. This is possible while creating a database with your required language as database collation. For example, use Database collation as Arabic_100_CI_AS for Arabic language support. Similarly for other languages use appropriate collation for support. Use SQL Server Management Studio to create a database with the name as kpnsdb and with appropriate collation support. Prerequisites Engagement Services 3.2 Software System Requirements (Per Physical Instance) Purpose Server Name Database software SQL Server 2008 onwards 3.3 Scripts for Kony database setup The database scripts are available in the SQL_Server-scripts.tar file on Kony Developer Portal at: http://developer.kony.com/pluginreleases Navigate to the appropriate major GA version, and download the files. Approximate time for Engagement Services Database setup: 30 mins (excluding SQL Server software installation). 3.4 Approach for Engagement Services Database Setup To perform the Engagement Services database setup, follow this order: 1.
