Relevant Competitor Sites http://www.dscicorp.com/ http://www.shoretel.com/ http://www.shoretelsky.com/ http://www.thuraya.com/ Real Life Examples of Solution drop down, Resources I d like to remove these from this doc and have it separately to review with Deb. Then present the ones we/she feels is relevant during the design phase? Examples of a solutions drop down nav, resources pages, etc. Solutions: http://www.advent.com/ Solutions drop-down mega nav offers a great way to list out the different categories of solutions http://www.dscicorp.com/ Solutions drop down offers another way to do categories Resources page: http://cornerstonesoftware.com/resources Resources that can be sorted by type (this would be in current scope) Below examples are more advanced, contain stand-alone search and more advanced filtering, so would require either budget extension or re-allocation from another early line item / idea. http://www.shoretel.com/resource_center/results#/?analyst_research= More of a knowledge-base (need lots of content), but offers some unique ideas for styling the list view http://www.techrepublic.com/resource-library/whitepapers/ Another good way to show sortable resources, with highlighted resources in the right sidebar blocks http://www.sas.com/en_us/whitepapers.html Organized in a clean manner with various filtering options. Very scaleable: works with just a handful of resources, or thousands. http://www.acquia.com/resources A great image heavy (click into a resource type) way to prompt various types of content. Preliminary Site Map Preliminary Main Nav Main Nav: Why Crocker? Page of 3 of 17

Who We Are The Team News & Events Careers Products and Services Phone Systems Answering Services Internet Services Collocation Cloud Solutions Network, Electric, and Cabling Solutions By Need (ex. HIPPA Compliant Communications) By Industry By Business Size (Too granular?) Resources Case studies Datasheets Product Sheets White papers Contact Us (Like Cornerstone page) For Support For Information, questions or concerns Form Locations/Directions Email Global Elements Page Elements Header Logo, redirects to homepage Search: TSM/Crocker: Originally, Google Search appliance was requested. Is there a specific reason for this request, or could the powerful built-in Drupal search be customized to meet the same needs? (And allow for design styling.) Utility Nav (Per March 10 brainstorming) Contact Page of 4 of 17

Social Media Icons Main Nav Will be some variation of a flyout or drop-down menu, likely to vary on mobile screen sizes, with exposed secondary (tertiary?) nav items, pending on design. Main nav bar to contain: See Preliminary Main Nav for example of pending navigation Secondary/Tertiary Nav See wireframes Breadcrumbs Footer TBD, if necessary. May not appear on all pages/content types. Yes. Necessary please. Contact Site Map Privacy Policy Legal Information WebMail Login Taxonomy Taxonomy is TBD. So far, provisional vocabularies have been discussed for use related to News, Products, Solutions, and Case Studies. Resources Vocabulary TBD, may contain: Case Studies White Papers Product Sheets Datasheets TSM/Crocker: what sort of resources does Crocker Communications have? Solutions Vocabularies These tags build the filtering options on the Solutions page. TSM/Crocker: Are we correct in thinking that it s possible that a specific Solution could fall into more than one Need/Industry? (IE, multi-select tagging is needed?) By Need TBD By Industry TBD, may contain: Page of 5 of 17

Medical Academic TSM/Crocker: others? By Size of Organization TBD, may contain: Small Medium Enterprise Department Vocabulary TBD, may contain: Accounting Cloud Services Management TSM/Crocker: this vocabulary may not be needed if there is no filtering/automatic organization needed for the Staff content type/template. Blocks Block Types TSM/Crocker: Start thinking about what blocks you might want to see around the site, and whether those blocks will be dynamically-driven or manually. (Can be some of each.) Note, block instances can be created and applied on one or more page or section. Some ideas: Video Block Photo Gallery Block (e.g. condensed view of slideshow) News Block (e.g. dynamic list of latest News by publish date, or promotion flag) Events Block (e.g. dynamic list of latest Events by publish date, or promotion flag) Associated Pages Block (e.g. WYSIWYG block of related pages links) WYSIWYG Block, ad hoc block where content is managed in web editor. Others? Here is what I am thinking, in addition to video and photo gallery block, to discuss: News & Events list block (list of news and events) News & Events, Featured News item(headline with link to news detail) Employment List Block: Now hiring (list of positions open) Employment Detail Block: Featured position (title with list to job description detail) Featured product Featured solution Page of 6 of 17

Resources List Block: List of relevant resources for a product page or solutions page Featured Resource Block: As you have on resource list view page A featured testimonial block Special Blocks That is, not necessary a re-usable block type, but rather a one-off block used for a special purpose that might require unique design and development attention. WebMail login area TSM/Crocker: Use of a sidebar block is how we d recommend handling the need for the webmail login. This will remove it from the main navigation, and the block can be positioned further down on the page so that more important content can be above the fold, while still making the webmail login easily locatable. I believe we determined that this is slowly going away and that it could be handled in the bottom nav only at this point. Third Party Integrations TBD - There may be an integration with some sort of social media platform, like AddThis. TSM/Crocker: Are there known third party services that need to be integrated? Content Types Home Page Note: Content administrators should not be able to create new homepage nodes, but they should be able to edit the current node. TSM/Crocker: Start thinking about what elements will need to appear on the homepage. The concept of a long scroll format or parallax scroll was discussed in the March 7th Kick-Off Meeting. Think about what parts of this long-format page will need to be easily-edited, and what parts of this page will be relatively unchanging and hardcoded. Standard Inner Page Generalized content type that will support content management for all standard inner pages. Fields associated with Standard Inner pages will include: : image upload field TSM/Crocker: Think about what pages (if any) need banners/have the option for banners Page of 7 of 17

Page title: text field Page teaser (Summary): text field Body: WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) - editable body content managed by admins using the CK Editor. The CK Editor functions similarly to popular word processing programs, but via the web browser. The Drupal implementation is described here: http://drupal.org/project/ckeditor. To directly add straight HTML users can disable the rich text editor. Sidebar Blocks Tool: UI, which will give users the ability to add existing blocks to the final displayed page, and re-order them as desired. Blocks can be placed on either the left or right sides of the node. Standard Drupal Options: URL Redirects: Functionality which allows users to create/edit redirects to the node URL path settings: The standard page will allow admins to define the URL Path settings, meaning the URL structure as it is visible to end-users. SEO: Admins will also be able to optionally edit Meta tags including Abstract, Canonical URL, Copyright, Description, Keywords, Revisit after (in days), to control Robot settings, and other SEO related functions. Menu options: Standard Drupal menu options. Ability to add pages to the menu and order using weight. Publish states: Admins, depending on their user role, will have various Publishing options, including setting page to "Published" or Unpublished, Promoted, and Sticky at top of lists. The last options will function depending on context, and can be used as flags to promote content to the top of lists or feeds in other site sections. This will likely not be in use for standard inner pages. Authoring Information: Authored by information will track the admin / user that is associated with the content creation. NOTE: This vertical tab contains separate, system-generated information that is not related to the sorting settings for other content types. Authored on date: This is the date that the content is created, which can be explicitly controlled. Core Division Gateway Page Crocker Communications provides a variety of services that are grouped into business units. As of March 7, those divisions are currently: Cloud Solutions, Answering Service, Internet Service, Colocation, and Electrical & Structured Cabling. The Gateway page provides a landing spot for site visitors who click on an entire division vs. an individual product or solution. It will contain links to all of the products in that core division, as well as other relevant information. This Gateway page is what is included on the ppt slides. Page of 8 of 17

Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Product & Services Page The Product & Services content type is meant to serve all of the assorted products, services, and tiers of products that Crocker offers. Product/Service Title: text field Subtitle: text field Product/Service Image: image upload field TSM/Crocker: This is design-dependent, but is there a need for each Product/Service to have an image? (This might be handy for list views, sidebar blocks, etc.) Product Description: WYSIWYG editor TSM/Crocker: The open WYSIWYG editor provides a lot of freedom in the design of the page. However, if there are going to be similar standard elements on each page, or there is not a site administrator who feels comfortable designing the site with basic HTML, then it is an option to create more rigid fields for users. Related Case Studies: multi-select field Manual selection of available Case Study nodes, no automatic populating Related Resources: multi-select field Manual selection of available Resource nodes, no automatic populating Related Testimonials: multi-select field Manual selection of available Testimonial nodes, no automatic populating Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Solutions Page The Solutions page is a unique way to aggregate multiple types of site content into one format, to allow for a showcasing of problem solving options for a particular scenario. Solution Title: text field Solution Subtitle: text field Body Text: WYSIWYG editor Related Products & Services: multi-select field Manual selection of available Resource nodes, no automatic populating TSM/Crocker: this manual choice (over automatic populating) allows for the site Page of 9 of 17

administrator to make sure that only the exact Products & Services (or Case Studies, or Resources) show up on the Solutions page. Related Case Studies: multi-select field Manual selection of available Case Study nodes, no automatic populating Related Resources: multi-select field Manual selection of available Resource nodes, no automatic populating Related Testimonials: multi-select field Manual selection of available Testimonial nodes, no automatic populating Need: multi-select field Based off of By Need vocabulary Industry: multi-select field Based off of By Industry vocabulary Size of Organization: multi-select field Based off of: By Size of Organization vocabulary Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section News & Events The News & Events content type is used for news articles and events, which will display in both list and detail views. Article Title: text field Article Subtitle: text field Article Date: date field Article Author: text field Article Body: WYSIWYG editor Article URL: URL field This non-required field would be used if admin is referencing an off-site article. The body area would be a quick summary Article Tags: multi-select list TSM/Crocker: Do you see a tagging system needed for News? (if so, we would add to Vocabularies section). Promote to Top: checkbox TSM/Crocker: Do you want a Featured News area? This can be a useful spot for highlighting awards, etc. Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Blog/Outage Log The outage log on the current site is very similar, formatting-wise, to a blog, with individual entries. Page of 10 of 17

This seems like the most user-friendly way to handle it on the new site as well. Blog Title: text field Blog Date: date field Blog Body: WYSIWYG TSM/Crocker: From the posts on the current site, it seems that just a standard WYSIWYG editor block is all that s needed for text. That being said, are there any standardized fields that you would like to see on the new site? Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Resource The Resource content type is used for any uploadable asset that Crocker Communications wishes to share on their website. This can include White Papers, Videos, Data Sheets, and more. Relevant industry example: http://www.dscicorp.com/resources-overview.htm We recommend the use of a Resource content type to help with SEO. Search engine spiders do not search within PDF or Word documents, so by creating a profile for each uploaded asset, there is context that helps make the uploaded asset searchable. TSM/Crocker: Start to think about what sort of asset categories Crocker Communications might want to provide to their clients. The Resource content type is multi-purpose, and specific Resource types will be categorized using a tagging system. This system is scalable, so for site launch it is okay to have just a few well-fleshed out Resource categories. Resource Title: text field Resource Type: drop-down select list based on Resource vocabulary Resource Description: WYSIWYG editor Resource Upload: upload field Video URL: URL field (for Vimeo or Youtube link) TSM/Crocker: Does the Crocker team currently have/foresee needing to promote videos around the site? Gated?: Checkbox, allows administrators to select individual nodes for gating Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Testimonials TSM/Crocker: Does this need to be a content type? How do you see testimonials being used around the site? Is it possible that a Testimonial Block will work better? Page of 11 of 17

Staff Testimonial Title: text field This title does not appear to the visitor, it serves as a way of identifying the testimonial in the admin content list. Testimonial: WYSIWYG editor Client Name: text field Client URL: URL field Client Location: text field Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section In the March 6th Kick-Off Meeting, when asked what the new Crocker site should emphasize, it was mentioned that people (the Crocker team) should be a part of the site. This might suggest the need for a Staff content type. All that exists on the current site is a simple list of contact info: http://www.crocker.com/index.php/about-us/our-staff/management TSM/Crocker: Thoughts on a more fleshed-out way to highlight Crocker staff members? A taxonomy tagging system could be utilized to separate the departments, with minimal effort on the part of the admin. First Name: text field Last Name: text field Photo: upload field Title: text field Biography: WYSIWYG editor Department: taxonomy-driven drop down list TSM/Crocker: do you see the need for additional filtering of staff? Standard Drupal Options: see Standard Inner Page for description of Standard Drupal Options section Templates Preliminary outline of how the different templates might break down visually. Home Page Slideshow area TSM/Crocker: Will be looking for an example/description of the slideshow Page of 12 of 17

functionality One or more blocks regions TSM/Crocker: Will be looking for examples of the block types that might be in each area Long-Format Sections: Who Crocker Is Our People Core Values Featured Solutions A specific Crocker Hosted Phone Systems Standard Inner Page TSM/Crocker: Will banners appear on all/some/no pages? TSM/Crocker: Related, will interior banners require more than one image? The sidebar menu is a preformatted block It can be disabled on a page-by-page basis TSM/Crocker: A bit of a design question on whether this is needed, but left sidebar menu nav is common practice now. Body Content The body copy is created in a WYSIWYG-editor, which allows for video, image, and other types of uploads. Content can be promoted from a list of accessible user-driven or custom dynamic block types. TSM/Crocker: Begin thinking about what pre-formatted blocks, block-types, dynamic blocks vs. WYSIWYG-driven content blocks. Product & Services Body Content WYSIWYG editor Just the editor without further field definitions will allow the display and content of the page to be very flexible, depending on the needs of that specific Product/Service. List view of Blog/Outage Nodes Chronological list of blog/outage articles Resource Overview Page TSM/Crocker: Potential idea for the Resources list view: There is a drop down menu associated with Resources, like on http://www.dscicorp.com/, and by selecting a Resource type from the drop down, the user is directed to the Resources list view page, with the filter system already filled out to the type of Resource they selected. This allows the use of just one Resource list view (instead of a Resources landing page, specific Resource type list view, and then Resource detail pages), and the default can be All with a filtering system based off Resources taxonomy type.
