The solution for mobile data collection Etiscan NavConnect.net allows mobile data entry devices to connect to Microsoft Dynamics NAV via radio communication or transmission station (so called Batch-Type). What is so special about this interface? Etiscan NavConnect.net links-up the mobile data entry device via TCP/IP connection with the Navision Application Server (NAS). That means that the screen the user normally sees will be transformed and the input fields the user should fill in are displayed on the mobile device. There is no need for a complete wireless network infrastructure, because the client can be used in online or offline (batch) mode. It is possible to change the client appearance to fit your exact needs and improve your workflow. Ê

The solution for mobile data collection Mobile applications have special requirements If you are sitting on a fork-lift truck transporting goods, you couldn t deal with complicated dialogs on a mobile data device at the same time. Being aware of this we designed our interface to be easy to handle for users of mobile data entry devices. Dialogs were adjusted so that only really necessary data has to be filled in while mobile. All static data which is stored at the radio server will be linked with the incoming datasets and then forwarded to be booked in MS Dynamics NAV. That means even employees not working with computers are enabled to input postings with absolute reliability and accuracy in MS Dynamic NAV. Double postings will be avoided effectively. The booking result will be displayed on the mobile device at once if connected via radio transmission, enabling the user to react in case of errors. High data integrity As all entry operations are booked directly in MS Dynamics NAV, there is no database in between, no service and no intermediate layer. A dataset is saved the moment the user gets the confirmation on the mobile data device exactly the same as if entered through the on-screen dialog. The confirmation is exactly the same as displayed on MS Dynamics NAV. Further processing of batch files which are error prone is unnecessary. The solution for mobile data collection. Short project duration, low costs Until now the usage of mobile data entry devices in a MS Dynamics NAV Environment were synonym to high costs and long project duration. Until now! In using our tested and standardized modules the effort of customizing is reduced to minimum. Therefore complete solutions with wireless mobile data entry devices are possible at a very interesting price. What has to be done for implementing mobile data entry? 1. Planning dialogues for mobile usage (incoming goods, outgoing goods, inventory ) 2. Planning the simplification of dialogues to be suitable for mobile input. 3. Choose of the mobile devices 4. Decision for wireless- or batch transmission After this step we are able to start with customizing the dialogues. The following dialogues are ready to use: Inventory Incoming Goods Storage Outgoing Goods Rebooking Order Picking Stock information Production acknowledgement Process reliability through on-site plausibility-checks In 15 years, Etiscan gathered a wide know-how around mobile barcode scanning and at the Auto-ID sector. This secures the best possible solution to be implemented at your company. Our scanner client was designed with a maximum of integrated process reliability. Errors by typing or scanning are immediately detected through plausibility checks on the scanner, and can therefore be fixed at one. Incorrect captures are almost impossible.

The solution for mobile data collection / Specifications The Programming All adjustments are carried out in Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, the standard IDE for Windows programming. It is possible to purchase the source code of the adjustments which have been made. Mobile Data Entry Devices Free Choice Because Etiscan NavConnect.net is compatible to all mobile data entry devices used by Etiscan, only your requirements are relevant for choosing the device. Whether you would like to use a fork-lift terminal or a Windows- CE-device Etiscan NavConnect.net is ready. Scalability To manage large amounts of data and/ or connect several clients, the Navision Application Server (NAS) can be multilicensed and consequently multi-instantiated. Service & support Once a mobile data-capturing solution is installed, many essential processes in the company depend on the solutions correct functionality. The more important is a fast reaction in case of an error. Etiscan provides support by helping with a competent hotline. Remote Access with Netviewer is possible as well as on-site service with minimal reaction time and the usage of alternate devices. Etiscan provides competent advise for an individual supportpackage. Technical specification Etiscan NavConnect.net Sourcecode Purchasable on request Performance Optimized performance through transmitting only user data, templates are stored locally and therethrough require less processor resources when started. Dynamic NAVConnect NAS NAS Communication / Infrastructure Online (via radio transmission, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPRS, UMTS, EDGE) Offline via dockingstation Even hybrid operation without areawide radio service is possible! NAS MS Dynamics NAV Certification Not necessary because of connection via Navision Application Server (NAS).

Specifications Communication / Telegrams All telegrams are based on XML Expandable with Web Services (SOAP) to connect distributed systems Supported Hardware All WIN CE and WIN Mobile devices, preferably hardware of Motorola (former Symbol), Datalogic and Intermec are supported, because of the already existing clients. For devices of other manufacturers the Etiscan client has to be modified. The effort varies between 1-2 working days. Hardware costs depending on type and configuration: Batch-terminals from 500,- up to 2.000,- Wireless-terminals from 1.000,- up to 2.600,- Forklift-terminals from 2.500,- up to 5.000,- Delivery time/ Project implementation Short-term implementation is possible, project runtime depends on volume and is usually 4-8 weeks. Updates/ Software maintenance Software maintenance contracts are offered on request. Further development and changes on new releases can easily be implemented. Batch mode Etiscan NavConnect.net is optimized for wireless usage but also capable of batch operating. Wireless LAN is not necessary. Compatibility Etiscan NavConnect.net is compatible to all mobile barcode scanners using Microsoft Windows Mobile or CE technology. Only customer requirements determine the usage of a certain device. New Releases All fields are adressed in reference to the fieldname (XML) and not by the fieldsequence - new releases can be implemented with a low effort of amendment. Complete solution Etiscan provides complete solutions including barcode printing, scanning hardware, consumables (like labels) and services. Operating systems Etiscan NavConnect.net supports Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7. Test installations and references Test installations including hardware and one customized standard software transaction is possible for a fee. If it comes to a contract/ order, this fee can be offset afterwards. On request we are pleased to provide you a reference. Label printing Label printing can be triggered by mobile devices. Usage of a mobile printer is possible and can be realized. Stationary client Usage of the client on a stationary pc is possible. No need for databases or additional licensing fees All implementations are based on VisualBasic.net. Technical requirements Requirements for development / support Installed NAS at the test system Access via remote controll at the test-system (VPN) Requirements regarding the operation of Etiscan NavConnect.net 1. PC system requirements Etiscan NavConnect.net server requires a standard office pc for the server application and not necessarily a server system. Etiscan recommends a minimum of 2GB RAM and 500MB HDD space (for logging).the pc should be able to run 24 hours a day. It is working as a gateway on which no data is saved (except the logfiles). Supported

Specifications operating systems are: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003. The bandwidth to the Navision Application Server (NAS) should be as high as possible. The faster the Navision Application Server (NAS) can answer, the faster data appears on the mobile device. Remote Access is possible via Netviewer (Access via http, the PC has to be connected to the internet). 2. MS Dynamics NAV system requirements To run Etiscan NavConnect.net, there are few MS Dynamics NAV system prerequisites: Navision 3.6 Navision Application Server (NAS) has to be installed and licensed. For Business Ready Licensing (BRL): One Microsoft Dynamics Light User must be licensed per Named User For Module Based Licensing (MBL) and Navision for small companies (NFSC) a Microsoft Dynamics Web User must be licensed For every Named User (with access to a mobile device/ scanner) a SQL-Server-User (User-CAL) must be licensed. In case of the usage of a native database this license is not needed. Licensing is made by your MS Dynamics NAV partner. For some modules the NAVlogistic-modules are needed. Two Queues have to be preconfigured on the Navision Application Server (NAS)
