Preferred Partners International Roaming instructions Should you be travelling to a destination where we have setup agreements with preferred partners, all you need to do when you arrive at your destination is to simply switch your phone on and allow the phone to choose the Telkom preferred roaming partner automatically. Please do not use the SIM Toolkit menu on your phone to register on any of our Preferred Partner networks. The handset will automatically select our preferred roaming partners network. Note 1: Should your handset be manually set to a particular network then you will need to set your handset to automatically select a network. Note 2: Should you arrive from an other partners roaming country to one where we have preferred partners then you will need to set your phone back to Telkom SA using the SIM toolkit steps in the guides to follow. To do this for iphone please follow the iphone guide from step 10. To do this for Microsoft Windows devices please follow the guide from step 10. Your handset will display: Your roaming preference has changed. Select preferred network from the list on your device Step 10 Select Access Point Name, insert new network name and insert 8ta.internet for APN Step 11 Once back in South Africa, repeat step 1-4 and select Telkom SA and then repeat steps 6-10. Your handset will display: Your roaming preference has changed, please restart your handset Step 6 Select OK Step 7 Select Networks Settings Step 8 Select Network Selection and switch from Automatic to Manual Search for network and pick one from the table provided on your device Step 9 Under Settings, select Access Point, add a new network name and insert 8ta.internet for the APN name and click Save or a tick Step 10 Once back in South Africa, repeat steps 1-4 and select Telkom SA and then repeat steps 6-9.
