DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS System Supprt Analyst I - This is the entry/jurney level jb in the class series. Psitins at this level require ne t tw years experience and successful perfrmance. Psitins at this level are required t wrk under general supervisin and within a frame wrk f established prcedures. Incumbents are expected t perfrm a
full range f duties with nly ccasinal instructin r assistance. Psitins at this level frequently wrk utside the immediate prximity f a supervisr. System Supprt Analyst II - This is the jurney/advanced jurney level in the class series. Psitins in this class series are flexibly staffed and psitins at the II level are nrmally filled by advancement frm the level I requiring three t fur years experience and successful perfrmance. When filled frm the utside, the emplyee is required t have prir related experience which allws the emplyee t meet the qualificatin standards fr the II level. Psitins at this level are distinguished frm the I level by perfrmance f the full range f duties, pssess technical r functinal expertise, and perfrm specialized duties in a highly independent manner. Senir System Supprt Analyst - This is the advanced jurney level in the class series. Psitins in this class series are flexibly staffed and psitins at the Senir level are nrmally filled by advancement frm the level II requiring five t six years experience and successful perfrmance. When filled frm the utside, the emplyee is required t have prir related experience which allws the emplyee t meet the qualificatin standards fr the III level. Psitins at this level are distinguished frm the II level by exercising creativity and resurcefulness t accmplish gals and bjectives and ften have btained special licensing r certificatin. EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Imprtant and essential duties may include, but are nt limited t, the fllwing: 1. Install and cnfigure PCs and cmpnents (memry, hard drives, mdems, netwrk adapters) and peripherals such as printers, scanner, CDs, etc. 2. Answer and reslve user questins regarding the use f cmputer hardware and sftware prducts utilized by the cunty. 3. Plan and execute training sessins fr bth individuals and grups n varius tpics ranging frm the use f mainframe applicatin t persnal cmputer utilizatin. 4. Assist the prgrammers in the testing f new r mdified cmputerized applicatins. 5. Develp and write dcumentatin fr users such as "user guides", "prcedure checklists" and "hw t" task lists. 6. Install and test newly acquired sftware prgrams; install and test PC applicatin updates; install, trublesht and repair hardware and sftware. 7. Act as a liaisn between users and the vendrs f varius sftware prducts. 8. Stay current with new develpment in the field PC and AS/400 hardware and sftware. 9. Adhere t safe wrk practices and prcedures. 10.
