Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 3 of 13 SAFETY Carry out the work in accordance EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS The service technician must possess REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION Document this Document that PURPOSE This instruction describes how to align the generator with the Fixturlaser GO alignment equipment RISK ASSESSMENT Some info goes here NOTE Always read the entire instruction and the attached risk assessment before the work is started TOOLS Item No Quantity Text 1 Laser alignment tool VT200028 1 Turning Brake Disc SPARE PARTS Item No Quantity Text WEIGHTS Some info goes here ESTIMATED TIME USE Some info goes here PROCEDURE PREPARATION Before aligning with Fixturlaser GO the gearbox must be aligned according to the type of turbine, see O&M manual for the turbine type in question.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 4 of 13 For dismounting of the composite coupling the turbine must be braked and locked During the alignment the turbine and the rotor must be braked and locked, the blades must be in 90 position and the nacelle must be against the wind Maximum wind speed is according to Safety Regulations for Operators and Technicians. Turn off main switches. DISMOUNTING OF COUPLING Rotating parts Risk of being caught by rotating parts Do not work on rotating parts Lock the rotor before carrying out any work on the coupling or other rotating parts in the drive train. Stay at a safe distance from the coupling when it is being rotated without the cover mounted over it. Risk of hurting hands and feet Risk of squeezing hands and feet between brackets and brake disc flange when turning brake disc by hand Do not turn the brake disc by hand, always use VT 200028, Turning Brake Disc. ALIGNMENT EQUIPMENT FIXTURLASER GO 1. RS-485 connectors (IP 54) 2. Alfa-numeric keyboard 3. Alignment status indicators a. Green within tolerance b. Orange within double tolerance c. Red out of double tolerance 4. On/Off button 5. Navigation buttons

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 5 of 13 MOUNTING OF EQUIPMENT FOR ALIGNMENT Mounting of equipment with the coupling dismounted The S unit mounted on the gearbox side The M unit mounted on the generator side The picture shows how the fixtures are mounted on the respective side of the coupling

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 6 of 13 Alternative mounting of equipment without removing the coupling Utilizing exiting coupling bolts to attach the fixtures with the S and M units. NOTE The M unit must be mounted on the generator side and the S unit on the gearbox side Each sensor unit is connected with cable to the display unit. It does not matter to which connector each unit is connected.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 7 of 13 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE Operator Description Turn on the system Use the arrow keys to navigate to the icon for Horizontal shaft alignment. Press the OK button. Unlock the post fixings on the M unit and adjust the height of the unit so the laser line projected on the S unit is approximately in the middle of the sensor area. Lock the post fixings. SETTING OF TOLERANCES Operator Description Navigate to the Toolbox icon and press the OK button. Navigate to the tolerance table and press the OK button. Enter the specified tolerances for the machine you are about to align. Tolerances are found in the machine specification documents. Navigate to the exit icon and press the OK button.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 8 of 13 SETTING OF TARGET VALUES (WERE APPLICABLE) Operator Description Navigate to the Target values icon and press the OK button. Navigate to the Coupling values icon and press the OK button. Enter the specified target values, i.e. thermal growth values, in each of the available fields. The target values can be found in the machine specification documents. When finished, navigate to the OK icon and press the OK button. By entering target values into the system the alignment can be accomplished towards zero values and thereby utilizes the systems functionality for guiding the operator towards an alignment within tolerances.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 9 of 13 MEASURING Operator Description Measure the distance between the sensor heads. The measurement must be taken between the post centres. Enter the distance between the sensor heads. Press the OK button. The next measurement is automatically entered as half of the previous measurement. It represents the center of the coupling. Press the OK button. Measure the distance from the post centre of the M unit to the centre of the front generator foot Enter the value and press the OK button.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 10 of 13 Measure the distance between the centers of the front foot and the rear foot of the generator. Enter the values and press the OK button. Rotate the sensors to the 9 o clock position. The angle indicator on top of the screen guides you to position both sensors correctly. Navigate with the arrow keys to the measure icon and press the OK button to register the first reading of three. While the system samples the data this symbol is displayed on the screen. Rotate both sensor heads to the 3 o clock position and press the OK button to register the second reading.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 11 of 13 Rotate the sensor heads to the 12 o clock position and press the OK button to register the third and final reading. The result screen shows the generator position relative to the gearbox. Navigate to the Save icon and press the OK button. Save the measurement as an As found measurement. Name the measurement with the turbine identification. Note that the system utilizes multi tap technology, i.e. press the button several times to select between alphanumerical characters.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 12 of 13 EXPLANATION OF THE RESULT SCREEN The generators vertical position The generators horizontal position Parallel offset Angular misalignment Foot values shows the position relative to ideal position Within tolerance Outside tolerance Three LEDs on the Display Unit indicates the status of the coupling Green Within tolerance. Yellow Within double tolerance. Red Out of double tolerance.

Elos Fixturlaser AB Generator alignment with Fixturlaser GO Page 13 of 13 ALIGNMENT Operator Description Navigate with the arrow keys to the Shim icon and press the OK button. The screen displays live values and the arrows show you the direction you need to move the generator. Move the generator vertically by adding or removing shims until the alignment is within tolerances. Rotate the sensor heads to the 3 0 clock position. The screen changes to display the horizontal position of the generator. Move the generator according to the arrows until alignment within tolerances is achieved. When alignment is achieved, navigate with the arrow keys to the Re measure icon and press the OK button. Repeat the procedure under the Measurement headline and finalize by saving the measurement as an As left measurement.
