The graph of an equation represents the set of all points that satisfy the equation (make the equation balance). 2. Each and every point on the graph of an equation represents a coordinate pair that can be substituted into the equation to make the equation true. 3. If a point is on the graph of the equation, the point is a solution to the equation. How to Graph Linear Equations: To graph a linear equation, you need to know either of the following: The coordinates of two points on the line, or The coordinates of one point on the line and the slope of the line. Two Points: If you know two points on the line, simply plot both of them them and draw a straight line passing through the two points. One Point and the Slope: If you know one point on the line and the slope of the line, plot the point and use the slope to find a second point. Then, draw a straight line passing through the two points.
