AT&T Business Center Add an AT&T Switched Ethernet Service port to your site We ll walk through how to add an AT&T Switched Ethernet Service SM port to your site. Get started Specify service details Complete order Activate new port Prepare site to install port Get started 1. Log in to Business Center. Depending on your services, either the AT&T Network on Demand inventory page or the Business Center homepage appears. 2. Do 1 of these things: If the AT&T Network on Demand Inventory page appears, go to Choose AT&T install or self install. If the Business Center homepage appears, on the top menu, click Manage, click Network, and then click Network on Demand Inventory. The AT&T Network on Demand inventory page appears. 3. To add a port, do 1 of these things: If the site you want to add a port to is in your inventory, locate the site in your list, and on the right of the site you ve selected, select Manage, and then click Add Port. The AT&T Network on Demand page appears. Go to Specify the service details. If you need to add a site before you can add the port, go to Add port on a new site. Add port on a new site If you need to add a new site before you can add the port, follow these steps: 1. On the AT&T Network on Demand page, click Add New Site. 2. Enter the address information in the fields, and then click Verify Address. If the address is valid and AT&T Network on Demand is available at the site, the Add Site button is available. If the address is not valid, or AT&T Network on Demand is not available at the address, or if an active site exists, or a pending installation is in process at the address, you ll see an error message. You can cancel or try to verify another address. 2017 AT&T Intellectual Property. All rights reserved. AT&T and the Globe logo are registered trademarks of AT&T Intellectual Property.

If the address you enter shows you multiple matches, select the address you want. 3. After you verify the address, click Add Site. The new site appears in your inventory. 4. Locate the new site, select Manage, and then click Add Port. The Port Location section appears. Now you can order your port. Follow the next steps to complete the order. Specify service details In the following sections, you ll provide service details, such as the location where you want to add the port and the type of port interface you want. Select port location Under Port Location, the Address field is automatically filled in with the location of the site you selected. If you have additional optional information, such as floor, building, or room, you can add it. These details help our installer find your location. 1. To choose a different location, select the location from the Address list. 2. To add additional details, enter information in the Additional Location Details (Optional) field. You can enter location information, such as room or suite number that helps our installer find your exact location. 3. If the location you selected is in a multi-floor building, in the Floor field, enter the floor number where the port will be installed. 4. Click Continue. The General Configuration section expands. Select port interface Under General Configuration, select the type of port you want installed. The port interface determines how many Ethernet virtual connections (EVCs) you can associate with that port. Note: The 10Gbps ports are not available in all areas. Port types Port type 100Mbps electrical 1Gbps electrical 1Gbps single-mode optical Number of EVCs per port Up to 8 EVCs Up to 64 EVCs Up to 64 EVCs Page 2

1Gbps multi-mode optical 10Gbps single-mode optical 10Gbps multi-mode optical Up to 64 EVCs Up to 508 EVCs Up to 508 EVCs Number of EVCs supported by port types You should also consider the distance between the port and the router when you select a port type. This chart shows the distances that data can be reliably transmitted using different port types. Distances supported by port types Consider the in-building distance limits when you choose a port interface, and make sure to match your router port type. Choose AT&T install or self install Basic inside wiring from AT&T includes up to 328 feet (100 meters) of electrical wiring or 500 feet (152 meters) of fiber optic interface cabling. Charges and limitations may apply. The one-time and monthly charges for your order appear in your Cart before checkout. Page 3

Under Inside Wiring, do 1 of these things: To get help with inside wiring, select AT&T install. To install your own inside wiring, select Self install. For more information about AT&T inside wiring, including warranty and pricing, see Service Attachment to AT&T Network on Demand Pricing Schedule for AT&T Inside Wiring. Specify port designation Under Port Designation, select either Port Based or VLAN Based. Note: When you select your port designation, make sure you consider your choice carefully. If you order one configuration and later decide you want a different configuration, it requires you to order a new port and the existing port is disconnected. Port-based The port is associated with only one EVC. All traffic is passed on to one or more other ports on the one EVC, based on the MAC address and without regard to your assigned VLAN ID (if used). The one EVC may be multipoint or pointto-point. VLAN-based Also known as service multiplexing, this port is associated with multiple separate EVCs. All traffic is passed on to the other ports on any of the EVCs based on your assigned VLAN IDs. VLAN ID assignments must follow the AT&T allowed VLAN numbering limits. The individual EVCs may be multipoint or point-topoint. Select regulatory jurisdiction Select whether the endpoints of the traffic on your port are primarily inside or outside of the state. 1. Under Regulatory Jurisdiction, do 1 of these things: When more than 10% of your network traffic has endpoints outside the state (including Internet and international traffic), select Interstate. When less than 10% of your network traffic has endpoints outside the state (including Internet and international traffic), select Intrastate. 2. Click Continue. The Service Arrangement section expands. Page 4

Select committed information rate (CIR) The committed information rate (CIR) you select determines how much data can flow through the port. Under Bandwidth/Committed Information Rate (CIR), select the CIR you want. Note: At this time, 10Gbps is not available for all users. The following chart shows how the CIR selections compare, depending on your port configuration. Note that you can use electrical wiring for a CIR up to 1Gbps, but a CIR above 1Gbps requires fiber optic cable. The equipment at your site may limit your CIR. If you want a higher CIR than your equipment allows, contact your AT&T representative. Select Class of Service (CoS) CIRs supported by different port types. Under Class Of Service, select the CoS that you want. The CoS you select establishes the thresholds for latency, jitter, and packet delivery rate for your port, as shown in the following Class of Service table. Class of Service table Class of Service Latency (one way) Jitter Packet delivery rate Network availability Non Critical High 50ms N/A 99.50% 99.99 Business Critical - Medium 30ms N/A 99.90% 99.99 Business Critical - High 20ms N/A 99.90% 99.99 Interactive 13ms 10ms 99.95% 99.99 Real-Time 5ms 3ms 99.995% 99.99 Specifications for the different classes of service Page 5

Selections for CoS Add additional media access control (MAC) addresses (optional) You can change the limit from 250 to 500 MAC addresses on each multipoint EVC on the port. This setting is offered on a per-port basis and is applied to all multipoint EVCs on the port. This setting does not apply to point-to-point EVCs. 1. Under Additional MAC Addresses, do 1 of these things: To increase the limit to 500 MAC addresses you can have on multipoint EVCs associated with this port, select Yes. There is an additional fee for this selection. To use the default limit of 250 MAC addresses you can have on multipoint EVCs associated with this port, select No. Indicate whether you want enhanced multicast You can choose to enable enhanced multicast for this port. Page 6

Note: You can only enable enhanced multicast if it s part of your contract. To have enhanced multicast added to your contract, contact your AT&T representative. 1. Under Enhanced Multicast, do 1 of these things: Select On to enable enhanced multicast on your port Select Off if you don t want to enable enhanced multicast on your port. 2. Click Continue. The Service Arrangement section collapses and the Contact Information section expands. Complete order To complete your order, you ll provide contact information and review information about scheduling an activation date. Provide contact information It s important that you provide correct contact information so your installation is completed as quickly as possible. 1. Under Contact Information, complete the fields for Local Technical Contact. We ll use the local technical contact as our primary on-site contact person. 2. If you want to designate an alternate contact, Under Alternate contact, select Yes and then complete the alternate contact information. Otherwise, select None. We ll use the alternate contact as another on-site contact person when the local contact is unavailable. 3. Complete the information for Building Manager Contact. The building manager contact provides building access. Do 1 of these things: If the building manager contact is the same as the local technical contact, select Same as local contact. If the building manager contact is the same as the alternate contact, select Same as alternate local contact. If the building manger contact is neither of these people, then enter the building manager s contact information in the fields. 4. Click Continue. The Contact Information section collapses to a summary and the Schedule Activation Date section expands. Review schedule activation information In the Schedule Activation Date section, review the information. Note: We ll schedule your port activation and notify you within 8 business days of placing your order. You can reschedule the activation date up to 2 times. Page 7

Add an additional port (optional) If you want to add another port to this order, click Save and Add New Port, and then repeat the steps in Specify service details. Otherwise, if you re ready to complete your order, then continue to Complete your order. Complete your order 1. To finish this order, click Continue. The Cart opens and shows your order. Note: If you close the Cart before you submit your order, you can click the Cart icon in the upper right portion of the page at any time to return to the Cart. 2. Click Submit order. An order submitted confirmation message appears. Activate new port If your site has AT&T fiber optic cable and qualifying equipment in place, we'll send a technician to install the port within 3 to 5 business days of completing your order, even if your port activation date is scheduled for a later time. If your site needs optical fiber or equipment installation, an AT&T engineer contacts you within 8 business days to set up a site visit to your location for site requirements (see Prepare site to install port). After the site visit, you ll receive an email to schedule your activation. After the fiber optic cable or new equipment is installed, our port installer completes the port installation within 2 business days, even if the port activation is scheduled for a later time. Prepare site to install port Before you add a new port to your site, and to prepare for the AT&T fiber optic cable install, a local AT&T engineer completes a site visit and provides you with site preparation details. The site visit helps us determine what s needed for your install. It s important that you provide a local customer site contact who knows your site and can make decisions about what work needs to be done at the site. AT&T works directly with the site contact throughout the installation and activation process. After the site visit, here s what happens next: You receive an email from AT&T engineering with the site readiness requirements. Page 8

You ready your site for installation. It s important your site is ready for us to deliver the service. Delays in getting your site ready could impact your installation and service activation dates. If you experience a delay in readying the site by the negotiated site ready date, notify your AT&T Ethernet order manager and the AT&T engineer for the order. Typically, your site preparation addresses the following needs: Cable path The cable path requirements must address the entrance path and the interior path. Entrance cable path You need to provide a path for cable from the property line into the building. You need a clear underground or aerial path from the property line where AT&T or other access provider facilities exist to the telephone equipment room that you specify to support the entrance fiber. Make sure you have a conduit that s at a minimum of 2 wide with sweeping bends and a pull string. Interior cable path You need to provide the cable path between AT&T equipment to the building s demarcation handoff panel (if one isn t already in place) and then to your router. These path requirements may include available space in existing floor sleeves and conduits (2 minimum width with sweeping bends and a pull string). Equipment space Typically, fiber transport equipment is installed in a temperature-controlled common area with access to the entire building. You ll need to get permission from the building owner for use of the common area. Equipment space requirements can include plywood backboard space for wallmounted equipment or floor space for placement of a new equipment rack. Power source You need to provide permanent dedicated power for the AT&T equipment being installed. Power requirements specific to the equipment being installed can consist of nominal voltages, such as 48VDC, +24/-24 VDC, 110V, 125V, and 220V. The AT&T equipment should be installed within 6 feet of an AC electrical outlet. Grounding You need to provide a valid #6 ground source for the AT&T equipment being installed. This ground wire needs to be attached to the closest ground rod (earth ground) or building steel, and extend to where the equipment is installed. Page 9
