INSTALLATION OF TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TI810 MODEL

This document will give you a step-by-step procedure on what you need to do to install the Texas Instruments OMNI 800 (TI810) printer in Go! v4.x. STEP 1 Login to Worldspan Go! with the username and password for the agent you are adding the printer to.

STEP 2 Once you are in the blue screen, click on TOOLS within Go! and select HOST PRINT MANAGER CONFIGURATION Once this option is selected you will receive the below screen:

STEP 3 Choose from the Unconfigured Devices list the printer type you are installing. TI810 printers are listed as Ticket. Once you have selected your printer type this side of the screen will appear. Make sure Add to Local Machine is highlighted and click Configure To >>.

Once the Configure To option is selected the screen will refresh showing you the configuration part of the process. Select which Com port the printer is connected to. Select what speed the printer is set to. See below for Pencil Switch settings. You will notice that the Ticket has moved to under Local Machine from Unconfigured Devices. This option is a point of reference for support purposes; please select the type of printer you are installing. In this case TI810. Special Character handling handles the line feed option. If it is turned on here it needs to be off on the printer, and vice versa. After all is completed click on Save at the top of the screen to show the following screen.

Then click on Continue to take you back to the main screen. You will notice that the Ticket has moved to under Local Machine and has a yellow mark next to it. This shows you are on the PC with a printer configured to it. If not already done so, HPM Configuration will pick up that Host Print Manager is not installed on the PC you are on. Click on Install HPM.exe. HPM Install initializes and the first screen you will be shown is the one below. Select NO, and then click Continue.

Once you have completed the install, you may need to restart the PC. If required then click OK to restart. After reboot of PC has taken place, HPM should be loaded in the system tray automatically on Start up.

You need to then check the Com Port Properties of the local PC to match what you have selected on HPM Config and also the printer. Right Click on the My Computer Icon and choose properties then select Hardware.

Select Device Manager, Ports (Com + Lpt) and double left click on the port you are installing the printer on, e.g. Communications Port (Com1), and then choose Port Settings. Here make sure the Bits Per Second match up with what you selected in HPM Config, e.g. 1200, 2400 etc, and then click OK. If changes have been made then close HPM and the re-open HPM. TEST THE PRINTER DOS Testing To confirm the printer is connected to the PC OK, first close HPM down and place A$ Tractor feed paper in the printer. Then type the following: Click on Start, Run and Type cmd. Then press Enter. Type CD\ to take you to the root of the drive. Type Mode Com1:12,n,8,1 (This presumes the printer is on 1200 speed and connected to Com Port 1). Next type DIR > COM1, this should send a listing of the C:\ contents to the printer. Running a Test Ticket Place white Tractor feed paper in the printer to replace the role of the ticket. Make sure the printer is online and then go to the Worldspan screen. Make sure HPM is running and the printer is Online. Contact your Help Desk and have them type ZDIAG 22PLNIATA/ (LNIATA = Printer Address) A test ticket should then be issued on the printer. If all the settings are OK and correct, ask the agent if they have a ticket they could issue. Take the paper out first and place the ticket stock back in. If the agent does not have any tickets to issue, and your test issued OK then all should be complete.
