B. Panasonic System Compatibility CSTA connectivity via the CSTA Multiplexer application is only supported on certain Panasonic PBX products variants, as shown below: Panasonic PBX Type NCP/TDE (All Versions) TDA 15/30 TDA 100/200/600 Notes Supports CSTA connectivity to the CSTA MUX application through the inbuilt Ethernet port. Not supported by the CSTA MUX. Not supported by the CSTA MUX. However, a TDA to TDE upgrade for the system s MPR card is available, which will then support CSTA MUX connectivity. C. Required Public & Internal IP Addresses Static Public IP Address Required Note that Customer must have a statically assigned IP address on the public side of their router. Required IP Addresses Please specify the following IP addresses: Customer s Public Router IP Address: Customer s Internal Router IP Address: Panasonic s VoIP DSP: Panasonic s IPCMPR Card: CSTA MUX IP Address: If not known directly, the public IP address of the Customer s router may be obtained by browsing to one of the following free internet sites when connected to the internal side of the Customer s local area network: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ http://whatismyipaddress.com/ http://www.myipaddress.com/ http://www.ip-adress.com/ D. Device Configuration Of Customer s Telephone System The Customer s telephone system s device configuration will be automatically synchronised by Akixi on initial configuration. All device information including Extensions, ACD Agents, Trunk devices, Hunt Group devices & members, SVM (Simple Voice Message), Voicemail Ports, Voicemail groups (DPT and DTMF) and names of extensions and groups are retrieved from the telephone system when this occurs. The DDI/DID digits and the associated description will be added to the application subsequently when any call has been identified with DDI information in it. Note: Extensions and ACD Agents that are to be excluded from reporting and billing should be specified in the Extension and ACD Agent Exclusion List on Page 2 above. Please notify Akixi when device configuration changes are subsequently made in order to resynchronise. Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 3 Of 9

E. Configure CSTA MUX & Customer s Telephone System Overview The subsequent diagram illustrates how the Akixi hosted service monitors the Customer s telephone system via a remote CSTA connection using the following hypothetical CSTA MUX application & Panasonic telephone system IP address configuration: Customer s Public Router IP Address: 1.1.1.1 Customer s Internal Router IP Address: 192.168.1.254 Panasonic s VoIP DSP: 192.168.1.200 Panasonic s IPCMPR Card: 192.168.1.199 CSTA MUX Installed Computer: 192.168.1.190 Configure Default Gateway In IPCMPR Card Ensure that the Customer s internal router IP address (192.168.1.254 in the example above) is set as the default gateway under Configuration Slot Card Property IPCMPR which is configured through the Maintenance Console. Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 4 Of 9

CSTA MUX Installation & Licensing 1. Install the CSTA MUX application and verify that it can successfully communicate with the telephone system. This activity should be performed by following the instructions given within the CSTA MUX s quick reference documentation, which is titled Quick Reference Guide CSTA Multiplexer and can be obtained from the Panasonic technical support team. 2. Once the CSTA MUX has been configured, a separate Panasonic telephone system license is required for each specific CTI application that will maintain a CSTA connection via the CSTA MUX, and therefore one of these dedicated licenses is required in order to successfully support an Akixi hosted service connection. 3. Obtain a license activation key for the appropriate number of CSTA MUX licenses using Panasonic part code KX-NCS2020. 4. Apply the CSTA MUX license activation key onto the Customer s telephone system. Information on how to apply license activation keys is provided within the installation manual of the Panasonic telephone system. CSTA MUX Application Connectivity Configuration The following image is the CSTA MUX configuration window showing it connected to the previously specified hypothetical Panasonic telephone system IP address, and also supporting a single remote CSTA client connection for the Akixi hosted service: Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 5 Of 9

Perform the following steps to apply and verify the required CSTA MUX client configuration: 1. Add the public IP address of the Akixi hosted service for the corresponding Customer (a 79.x.x.x address provided to you in a separate e-mail) to the Mux Client Connection list. 2. Apply the configuration by clicking the OK button. 3. Enable the CSTA MUX application, by right-clicking on its taskbar icon and selecting the In Service menu option. 4. Verify that the CSTA MUX application s Information dialog window has correctly detected all previously applied activation license keys - to do this, right-click on the CSTA MUX taskbar icon and selecting the Information menu option. Below shows the expected information when 3 client CSTA MUX licenses have been successfully detected: Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 6 Of 9

5. Once the Akixi hosted service has also been configured for the Customer, check that the CSTA MUX reports the status of the corresponding MUX client connection as Connected, for example: F. Configure Customer s Internet Router NAT / Port Redirection Arrange for the Customer s internet router / firewall to have a NAT / port redirection entry created for TCP port 33332, which maps to the internal IP address of the computer that has CSTA MUX installed. This basically maps TCP port 33332 on the public side of the router to the CSTA MUX s IP address and allows inbound access for the CSTA protocol. For example, using the previously specified hypothetical Panasonic & router IP address configuration: Example NAT / Port Redirection Mapping Entry Protocol: TCP Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 7 Of 9

Public / WAN IP Address: Any or 1.1.1.1 Public Port: 33332 Mapped / Private IP Address: 192.168.1.190 Private Port: 33332 Firewall Filter Rules Arrange for the Customer s internet router / firewall to have the appropriate firewall rules to specifically only allow the Akixi Hosted Service inbound access over TCP 33332. Typically on most firewall configurations, this can be achieved using two individual firewall rules in a chain: the first that allows inbound access on TCP port 33332 from the Akixi Hosted Service, and then a second rule, which blocks any other IP addresses accessing TCP port 33332. For example: Example Firewall Chain Entry 1 Action: Pass/Allow Immediately, Then Exit Rules Chain Direction: Inbound (WAN/Public Private) Protocol: TCP Source IP Address: 79.x.x.x (Assigned IP Address Of Akixi Service) Source Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255 (/32) Source Port: 33332 Destination IP Address: Any Destination Port: 33332 Example Firewall Chain Entry 2 Action: Block / Prohibit Immediately Direction: Inbound (WAN/Public Private) Protocol: TCP Source IP Address: Any Source Port: Any Destination IP Address: Any Destination Port: 33332 Router Rules Shown Graphically For further illustration, implementation of the NAT & firewall entries explained above is also shown graphically below: Document Version: 1.0.0.2, Page 8 Of 9

Both non-akixi servers on IP addresses 10.10.10.10 and 20.20.20.20 are blocked by the 2 nd firewall chain entry from inbound access on TCP port 33332. The Akixi Server is allowed inbound access by the first firewall chain entry, and then the NAT / port redirection rule also maps the inbound connection attempt to the main LAN interface of the Panasonic telephone system. G. Enable CLI/CallerID Receipt Verify with the Customer s Voice Network Provider that CLI/CallerID information is being transmitted on inbound calls received via all voice network trunk devices.
