2 Spire CXP3535/CXP3535e color server 2.0 Release Notes Fixed SPARs and Bugs This section lists problems that are resolved in the current release of Spire CXP3535/CXP3535e color server software. Creo # SPAR Xerox ID# Summary Problem Description 15650 519827522 SEF paper and LaserWriter from Mac OS 9.x When using the Spire CXP3535/ CXP3535e color server ppd with Mac OS 9.x, there is no way to select SEF paper. 15899 269045897 Pantones/spot colors Solid pantones or tints of solid pantones do not print accurately in comparison to the official color charts. 1, 582, 915, 291 458008927 Override PDF by hot folders Page size parameters cannot be forced in PDF files imported by hot folders. 16439 033736938 Spooled PostScript files with long names print blank pages 16676 725993695 When image quality is set to high, the job fails and a RIP NT error appears 16926 Admin page settings on the virtual printers are ignored 16732 596781252 Print progress indicator displays inaccurate page count On several occasions when running the same PDL file with a long file name (more than 84 characters) more than ten times on the system, the job prints blank pages. On rare occasions when printing jobs with the image quality set to high, the job fails to print and the error message RipNT.exe appears. When the image quality is set to normal, the job prints successfully. When selecting different paper stock settings for the Admin page on a virtual printer, the settings are ignored. When printing duplex jobs, the progress indicator counts sheets instead of the number of actual pages. 16847 082064853 Calibration notification message When saving the calibration as Normal, the indication on the job parameters does not display the actual calibration date. 16982 222622040 Wrong orientation of the Admin page On landscape documents, the Admin page prints at a 180-degree rotation.

Fixed SPARs and Bugs 3 Creo # SPAR Xerox ID# Summary Problem Description 16943 434809044 VPS document prints incorrectly 17316 198131538 Pages missing on imposed PDF file 17404 789522917 Preseparated PostScript file with tint colors 17401 967250386 Cannot print duplex manually with SRA3 or heavy weight paper from tray 5 17494 267477609 Unable to save imposition parameters on French GUI When an A4 VPS document prints from bespoke software (NewLeaf), every other page is skipped. Pages are missing in an imposed PDF file that contains blank pages. In cases where one of the elements in a preseparated PostScript file is painted with a Pantone or other spot color, the file prints separated instead of composite, as it should. Duplex printing from tray 5 (manual duplex) with SRA3 or heavy weight paper fails, and the software reports a conflict. When using the French version, the imposition values are not retained and the default values are returned when the Job Parameters window closes. 16475 Alerts in non-english languages In some cases, letters in the Alerts window and log are replaced by questions marks or special characters. 16002 Duplex and page orientations When printing SEF pages and Duplex Head to Head, or LEF pages and Duplex Head to Toe, in some cases the second page does not print rotated, as it should. 16143 126117 Wrong Out of paper message When one of the trays is out of paper, the Xerox DocuColor 3535 Printer-Copier interface requests the insertion of the wrong media type. 16068 126118 Software stability issues, multiple MFC application errors 15851 Communication lost during heavy volume printing On several occasions, such as when importing files with long file names, the RIP fails with a software error and the following message appears MFC application error. When printing and processing more than 6000 jobs, which is an extreme scenario of system stress, the Spire CXP3535/CXP3535e color server loses communication with the printer.

4 Spire CXP3535/CXP3535e color server 2.0 Release Notes Limitations This section lists the limitations in the Spire CXP3535/CXP3535e color server software. RTP Imposition When imposing an RTP file of a PDF file that has been saved or spooled with a paper size other than the correct paper size for the job, the printed output is corrupted. Possible Workarounds Do one of the following actions: a. In the DPT software, select the exact page size on which the job is structured. b. On the Spire color server, import the job through a SpoolStore virtual printer (the job will remain in PDL mode), and then select the imposition parameters RIP and Print. Retrieve Old Jobs Jobs that were archived before SP1 was installed will fail to be retrieved. It is recommended to retrieve all jobs before the installation of SP1 and to archive them again after the installation. Jobs that are archived after SP1 installation will be retrieved successfully.
