Brand License Guidelines for Chapters

Introduction Our Mission: Advance community-led change to reduce obesity, by making the healthy choice the easy choice for every South Carolinian Our Vision: A South Carolina in which healthy eating and active living are central to the everyday culture where we live, learn, work, play and pray Eat Smart, Move More SC is a statewide movement to reverse the rising tide of obesity and chronic disease by helping South Carolinians eat smart, move more and achieve a healthy lifestyle. With this mission in mind, the Brand License Guidelines for Chapters has been created as a reference to ensure a consistent identity is presented at all times. We encourage you to use your best judgement as you interpret these brand license guidelines. If you have questions that cannot be addressed with this document, please address those questions to ESMMSC s Communications Department. Visit www.eartsmartmovemoresc.org to find the appropriate contact information. These brand license guidelines do not grant you any right, license, title or other interest in or any trademarks owned by ESMMSC. All such rights must be granted in a separate, written agreement. Eat Smart Move More South Carolina reserves the right to modify these brand license guidelines from time to time as necessary. Each year, ESMMSC makes available to chapters the chapter logo to integrate into professional activities. Chapters must abide by the guidelines for using the logo. Please use the logo to make the theme visible, within the following limitations: Use logo on printed material such as newsletters, flyers, posters, signs, handouts and announcements. Use PowerPoint templates for internal presentations and ones that promote the chapter/ institution s meetings and events. The logo is commissioned and may not be modified or altered in any way. Elements from the logo can be used individually, such as for social media profile pictures. 2

Logo Formats and Access ESMMSC can provide the chapter logo in a variety of formats, depending on your need. Following is information regarding common formats. GIF (Raster) Used for online purposes due to its lower resolution, which appears clear on a webpage but does not slow down the loading time of the page as much as a higher resolution format would. Also used for PowerPoint. JPG Used for online and print purposes. TIF (Raster) Used for print purposes due to its high resolution. For newsletters or documents created in word processing applications such as Microsoft Word. Offers higher resolution output and reproduces well from black & white or color laser printers or inkjet printers. EPS (Vector) Used for print purposes due to its high resolution. Newsletters or documents created in page layout programs such as QuarkXPress, InDesign, or PageMaker. Offers highest quality output for documents being produced on printing presses, digital presses or other post-script printing devices. When printing materials and promotional items through a professional printer, always provide the EPS file. NOTE: If you do not have desktop publishing software, you will not be able to open this file type. Logo requests should be directed to the ESMMSC Communications Department. 3

Color Requirements The Eat Smart, Move More SC logo can be reproduced in a two-color process. When using four-color process or Photoshop, refer to the two PMS colors as the standard. For a flat version, refer to the universal Pantone Matching Systems (PMS) for accurate color reproduction. Do not recreate the logo colors other than what has been specified. When the Eat Smart, Move More SC logo is placed on a background, a black or white background is preferred. Do not enclose the Eat Smart, Move More SC logo within any other shapes or borders.
