Introduction The NHG REDCap System is only accessible via the NHG Intranet. The desktop version of REDCap requires a network connection to the NHG Intranet to work. The NHG REDCap System is NOT accessible to NHG-REDCap Users via on the Internet. However, NHG-REDCap Users may apply for remote access to the NHG Intranet. Remote access to the NHG Intranet is enabled by an IHiS service called INTOUCH2 INTOUCH2 will enable NHG-REDCap users to connect to, and use the NHG REDCap (Production Server) on their computers via the Internet. Do note that the NHG REDCap (Staging Server) is NOT available via INTOUCH2. This Guide is written to assist NHG-REDCap Users to apply for, and obtain remote access to the NHG Intranet environment. The REDCap Administrator DOES NOT manage or oversee the INTOUCH2 service, and hence is unable to assist in troubleshooting any issues that relate to VPN/INTOUCH2. Frequently Asked Questions What is INTOUCH2 access used for? INTOUCH2 enables NHG Staff to remotely access and use the NHG Intranet and its Applications from the Internet. In NHG-REDCap s context, the INTOUCH2 enables REDCap Users to remotely access the NHG-REDCap (Production Server) System with their computers from the Internet. NOTE: The NHG-REDCap (Staging Server) is NOT accessible via INTOUCH2. Must a NHG-REDCap User apply for VPN/INTOUCH2 access as well? NHG-REDCap Users will need INTOUCH2 access ONLY IF they need to remotely access the NHG-REDCap (Production Server) System on their computers from outside of the NHG Intranet environment via the Internet. Having INTOUCH2 access is NOT a requirement to use the NHG-REDCap system. Why can t the REDCap Administrators give me VPN/INTOUCH2 access? INTOUCH2 is managed by IHIS / ITD Helpdesk. Hence, users must separately apply to IHIS for INTOUCH2 access via the IT Request system (ITRS) (http://epasweb.nhg.local/db/common/itrs.nsf/xpmain.xsp). Any NHG Staff who has a valid NHG-ADID account can login to the IT Request System to submit IT Job Requests, including requests for VPN/INTOUCH2 access. Do note that all IT job requests will follow the standard approval process that is prescribed by IHiS. The REDCap Administrator does not manage or oversee this approval process. Users should contact the ITD Helpdesk (Tel: 1800 483 4357, Email: ITDHelp@nhg.com.sg) for any queries or technical issues relating to VPN/INTOUCH2 or the IT Request System. I have already obtained INTOUCH2 access from IHiS. Why can t I use my ADID to login to the NHG- REDCap System? Having INTOUCH2 access and having a NHG-REDCap Account are two different matters. Having one access does not automatically grant access to the other. To request for a REDCap User Account, please complete the REDCap User Account Request Form and email it back to us. Overview of Application Process This Guide assumes the following: (1) You are a current NHG Staff with a valid NHG Active Directory (ADID) Login account. (2) You have the approval from your Reporting Officer / HOD to apply for INTOUCH2 access. (3) You have a valid Singapore Mobile number that belongs to you. (4) You have already applied for, and activated your NHG-REDCap (Production Server) System account. There are two parts to applying for VPN/INTOUCH2 access These are: PART A: Self-update of Mobile Number for 2 Factor Authentication PART B: Apply for access to VPN/INTOUCH2 via the IT Request System. The details for each Part are explained in the respective sections of this Guide. Part A: Self-update of Mobile Number for 2 Factor Authentication STEP 1 Open your web-browser and go to https://intouch2.nhg.com.sg (NHG INTRANET only). NOTE: You may be asked to install a BROWSER PLUGIN to use the site (See below). Please allow the installation of the plugin and follow the on screen instructions. If you are unable to follow the instructions, or have difficulty following the instructions, we would recommend that you contact ITD Help (Tel: 1800 483 4357) for assistance. STEP 3 After you have successfully logged in, you will see the page shown below. Click on the link Click here to proceed with registration that is found near the bottom of the page. Step 5 The System will now prompt you to enter your Singapore mobile number. Please ensure that your mobile is turned on, and is able to receive SMS. Step 6 Enter the OTP code that was sent to you via SMS. Note: The OTP code will expire in 5 minutes. Step 7 (Last step) If you have successfully updated your Mobile Number, this is what you will see. Part B: Apply for access to INTOUCH2 via the IT Request System. Step 1 Open your web-browser and go to IT Request System (NHG INTRANET only) http://epasweb.nhg.local/db/common/itrs.nsf/xpmain.xsp After you have successfully logged in, you will see a page similar to what is shown below Step 2 Click on the New IT Job Request button. Complete the Form that is shown and ensure that the information (such as the Approver Information ) is correct. Step 3 Under the Section Job Request Details, enter the information for Short Description and Request Type as shown below. Click on the Enter Request Details button. A new pop-up window ( Job Request Details ) will appear. Step 4 In the pop-up window Job Request Details, enter Request for VPN Access - INTOUCH2 for NHG- REDCap in the Request Description field as shown below. Click on Save when completed. Step 5 Check the box next to the Job Request as shown below. Click on Submit when completed. The system will then route your request to your Approver. You will be notified via email when the request has been successful. NOTE The REDCap Administrator DOES NOT manage or oversee IT Job Request System, and hence is unable to assist in troubleshooting any issues you may encounter. Step 3 Click on the icon NHG-REDCap as shown. The login page for the NHG REDCap (Production Server) will open in a separate browser window. Follow the usual login process to the NHG REDCap (Production Server) with your ADID to begin using the system. NOTE The REDCap Administrator DOES NOT manage or oversee the INTOUCH2 system and hence is unable to assist in troubleshooting any issues you may encounter.
