Epicor Mattec MES 8.1.2 The document includes important information related to the latest release. Prior to upgrading to Mattec MES 8.1.2, please verify that your server meets the minimum technical requirements specified in the Mattec MES Technical Requirements document. If your server meets these requirements, once you have been successfully updated to Mattec MES version 8.1.2, all clients will need to be upgraded as specified in the Client Loading Instructions for Mattec MES document. To view both documents, go to the Mattec MES Support website at http://mattecsupport.com/service. In the Application Notes section, you can download the following documents: Computer Specifications for Mattec MES. Client Loading Instructions for Mattec MES, Release 8.1 Use the following information to review the changes and resolved issues that occurred since the last Mattec MES release. The list is sorted by and includes a summary description. Barcode Printing SysConStrings table only allows 25 characters and the default barcode stored procedure is 30 characters long. Data Import/Export Data truncated error when running data export DTR820 with all 56 fields. Data Import/Export F700 TSMIU F700 TSMIU Installation Job Scheduler Carriage run is not in the correct place when a custom stored procedure is used in place of the original last field in the Data Export Map for DTR820 export. Some machines will stop communicating with the MIU after lowpriority message placed on the work queue increment due to higher priority messages. F700 TSMIU issue with cycle time averaging for high speed cycles. When installing a secondary node, SQL dependencies are left in registries. Report header is incomplete on Schedule Summary Report. Mattec MES v 8.1.2 4

Epicor Mattec MES 8.1.2 MIU Moller OPC MIU OPC MIU OPC MIU PCMIU PCMIU Real Time Display Real-Time Display Reports Reports System Configuration MIU doesn't enter NPL after NPL time on startup (with job) or on job change when not cycling During the Moller start process, if there are issues in the persistence file, the Moller will not start. OPC machines sometimes record a cycle time much greater than NPL for the cycle that hits NPL. The query results cannot be enumerated more than once error message at startup. ShiftDOwn.NumOccur value not matching the occurrences of downtime reported in the DownLog table. Packed Parts entered for a component job get duplicated to all components. PCMIU Down Time screen doesn't update down code due to changes made elsewhere (e.g. TSMIU) Cannot enter scrap via RTD. Sometimes it works, but it can be the wrong scrap code. Other times it does not work, and displays an error. Running the CalculateCycleEfficiency function on rate machines can cause a value of INVALID to appear on the Real-Time Display Some reports do not run do to an incorrect System Reports SQL statement. Cannot run Part Efficiency or Tool Efficiency Report Error modifying the Operator ID record message when deleting an Operator from the Operator ID screen. Mattec MES v 8.1.2 5

Epicor Mattec MES 8.1.2 Use the following information to review the enhancements that occurred since the last SLS release. The list is sorted by and includes a summary description. Data Import/Export Edit Facility Job Scheduler The data export process has been greatly enhanced to include a configurable export file format from the Mattec MES database to a flat file. This allows the customer to determine what Mattec data that they would like to be automatically exported to their ERP system. In Process Sheets, an Enable Scrap by Active Cavities has been added to the General tab. If enabled, when a remote scrap is signaled, it scraps the number of parts equal to the number of active cavities. Implemented Ignore setup up and tear down time if no tool change between jobs option. For single jobs, tool is checked to see if change is required. If change, setup is required on Job 2 and tear down is required on Job 1. For single job to family job changes, setup and teardown are required if single job s tool does not match family job s tool. For family job to single job changes, setup and teardown are required if family job s tool does not match single job s tool. For family jobs, tool is checked to see if change is required. If change, setup is required on Family Job 2 and tear down is required on Family Job 1. Miscellaneous MIU E700 OPC Plant Floor Viewer Real-Time Display Collected operator log-in production data is now linked to a job not solely to a machine. Firmware updated to support the ARBURG PLC interface. To configure a machine for this control, use the Buhl PPC 90 PLC type in System Configuration > Machine Configuration. There is now support for 128 OPC parameters. Historically, the limitation was 24 OPC parameters. A new web service was added for the integration of Mattec Metrics into the new Plant Floor Viewer application. The Real-Time Display has been updated to display all text in black rather than the white used as of version 8.0. Mattec MES v 8.1.2 6

Epicor Mattec MES 8.1.2 Real-Time Display Real-Time Display now includes Energy Metrics. Real-time displays can now be customized to include energy metrics fields such as total phase power watts for a specific job. Energy metrics fields can be selected in the Auxiliary Job Data category in the Real-Time Display Writer and Plant Floor Display Writer. Real-Time Display The accuracy of the real-time Display cycle efficiency calculation over a given time period has been enhanced to look at the actual parts produced, the number of minutes it took to produce them and compare this parts/minutes rate to the expected rate defined on the Process Sheet. Historically, the cycle efficiency was calculated by cumulating the rate calculated for each status increment. This method involved average and, with any averages, there can be a loss of precision when rounding is involved. OEE calculations have been updated to use the new cycle efficiency value. Standard Reports The Shift Utilization report has been updated to report idle time collected from the monitoring engine. Historically, this value was calculated as the difference between the Total Time and the Total Shift Time values. System Configuration A Use Alternate Copy Multiple Method option was added to the Process Sheet tab of System Configuration > System Configuration. System Configuration An Allow Anonymous Logins options was added to the MIU tab of System Configuration > System Configuration. Mattec MES v 8.1.2 7

Epicor Mattec MES 8.1.2 System Configuration Default Downtime Reason and settings can now be defined by machine in the Miscellaneous tab of Machine Configuration. The following information can be defined: Not Down Label - the text that is displayed at an MIU when the machine is running. The default value is In Prod. Downtime Unknown Affects how unknown downtime is recorded when it occurs on a machine. The options are: o o o Standard -use last down reason unless MIU has been rebooted since last downtime occurrence. Always Use Downtime Unknown - label new instances of downtime as Downtime Unknown ) Remember Last Downtime - Downtime will be recorded against the last known downtime reason. Reset Elapsed Downtime on Reason Change checkbox if enabled, the Time In Status field on the Real-Time Display is reset to 0 when the machine is currently down and the machine operator selects a new downtime reason. Automatically Reclassify Unknown Downtime checkbox If enabled, "Unknown" downtime for the machine will automatically be reclassified when a downtime reason is selected at the MIU/PCMIU. Persist Auto Scrap Reason checkbox If the Downtime Unknown setting is Remember Last Downtime and this checkbox is enabled, if the downtime code has automatic part scrapping defined for it, the part scrapping will automatically continue when new instances of downtime occur using that downtime code. Override System Configuration checkbox - If enabled, downtime configuration for the machine will override any downtime settings defined in the MIU tab in System Configuration > System Configuration.
