Stepping in to each mode will allow you to view and edit the settings available. In the Fault Data mode, you can click the warning triangles to simulate several types of fault which might be encountered and the Virtual Relay will respond accordingly, recording fault data into the memory of the device. The Siemens Solution for High Impedance Protection Applications Based on many years experience in the application of high impedance protection we have developed a pc software utility tool to assist the engineer with the selection of external components, provide a guide to the relay protection settings and circuit connections. The high impedance unit protection principle ensures sensitive, high speed operation for internal faults and guaranteed stability during external faults. The software tool simplifies the calculation and specification process and provides a method for recording the data, saving the engineer time. The High Impedance Software tool has been developed as part of the Reyrolle software suite and is free to download from the website. Components box / CT Shorting Relay 7XG15 and 7PG11; Auxiliary units for High Impedance Protection of Busbars and Auto transformers. Used in conjuction with the 7SR23 High Impedance Protection Relay, the High Impedance Component Box 7XG15 and its associated CT Shorting Relay 7PG1110-7AE10 provides a complete solution for the provision of High Impedance Protection. The 7XG15 Component box provides test points on the front panel of the unit, allowing all commissioning and maintenance measurements to be taken from the front of the relay panel. The use of the 7SR23 and these auxiliary units allow the entire High Impedance Protection to be mounted on the front of the protection panel, without the need for components to be internally mounted. CT supervision is provided by the 7SR23, using imbalance detection elements. CT shorting is applied upon the detection of a CT fault, and whenever a protection operation occurs. This prevents maloperation due to CT imbalance and limits the dissipation of the resistor and metrosil networks under fault conditions. These units provide a compact and cost effective solution for the provision of High Impedance Protection. Simplified engineering process.
